I found this at the public library first and then had to have it for myself. And it's a true story! Expands our understanding that families come in many 'flavors' and that sharing love is what matters most.

This book is well-written and a great teaching tool. Not only does it focus on how penguin families function, it introduces having two dads in a non-sensationalist way. Tango is just like all the other penguins, with just one small difference.

I just love reading this to my children and supporting their natural understanding that family is about love and care. Thank you to the artist and author for presenting this beautiful and true story so perfectly.

"And Tango Makes Three" is a wonderful book about 2 male penquins who are given the opportunity to raise a baby penquin. This is based on a true circumstance at the Central Park Zoo. I loved this book because it is helping to show children that there are other forms of families. This one just happens to be in the animal world. I am proud to own this book to read to my granddaughter and give her an open minded view of the real world.
Thanks! D. S.

Love is a wonderful, many splendored thing. This story is beautiful, and my 4 year old and 2 year old love it. Same sex couples are normal and fine, and though I have a heterosexual lifestyle, the bigotry and hate from so called Christian's, makes me sick. Jesus would have been ashamed of you. Love is a blessing, wherever one finds it.

This is a wonderful book about the diversity in today's families. Americans need to realize that we are a diverse population and children have gay parents. Children live normal healthy lives with gay parents. If all families were the same it would be a very dull world!
I recently gave "And Tango Make Three" to my nieces (5 & 7). This was a great way to tell them about my plans to adopt. They are thrilled at the prospect of having a new cousin. They also loved the book!

I originally purchased this book in a bookstore in San Francisco. As a primary Life Skills teacher, I thought this heartwarming picture book could be used for discusion of differences in families. My son, as a junior in college, had to read and discuss this book in a kiddie lit course. Recently, two of my very best friends, a gay couple, had the exciting opportunity to adopt a little boy. I purchased this book for them to celebrate this joyous occasion!!!

Beautiful book based on a true story. Being a LGBT family, I went looking for diverse books when my daughter was born. She's one now, and still just flips through pages of any book super fast--still, this is a keeper that I think she will enjoy even more in the future.

We have purchased several copies of this book since I found it years ago at our local public library. It's a touching story and is a perfect presentation of same-sex relationships as found naturally among animals.

There were tears in my eyes reading this book. Wonderful truelife story. I've heard the book has been banned in some places which is mindblowing. There are those who are rabidly homophobic regarding people, but this book shows one example of same sex relationships which are not uncommon in nature. Bought this book for my grandson who is not yet old enough to read it but will hopefully give him a good start toward an open mind as he grows up.
