A straight read through, worth not sleeping! Nate finally gets some answers (& a lot more questions). I loved seeing the growth of Alex, and his relationship with Nate. While this is book 10, it's also part of a 3 book arc according to the author, so it wasn't completely surprising how things stand with Mordred. However, I NEVER expected the twist in the last few chapters (nope, not spoiling it).
Waiting until end of year for the next Nate book is going to be torture. At least we get Callie's next book soon. Her world overlaps with Nate's. I have a sneak suspicion they are going to overlap even more before the All-war happens.

After going to Hell and Back, accidentally releasing Mordred who stole nine souls on his way out, what deviltry awaits our Hopeful Hero Nate Temple. Will the public showdown between Nate and Mordred, finally bring Nate to his knees? Ending his short reign as the self proclaimed King of St. Louis? An Intense Shared Dream between Nate Temple and Callie Penrose, who is a powerful wizard from Kansas City. Reveals the physical attraction between the two most powerful Wizards in Missouri. But is the shared Apocalyptic dream, A Tale of Two Cites, destroyed by their combined power in an upcoming war? Or is it warning them to stay apart, because together they have the power to become Gods. The Horseman of Hope, must take up the mantle of his mask if he's to defeat Mordred in his mad quest for revenge. The fight at the dueling grounds is spectacular, when the four Horseman of the Apocalypse show up ready for battle.
However along with the intensity of magical battles, Shayne Silvers manages to insert a certain softness not usually found these days. The intense feelings of Love, only a parent understands... He clearly shows that a father's love for his son reaches to the deepest part of his heart and soul. A love that transcends all reason... Unbound by location, time, or circumstance.
I'm eagerly awaiting to see how this new personal discovery will affect Nate's actions in the next book.

Shayne Silvers is an epic storyteller in s class by himself. His “Temple-verse” of Nate Temple Supernatural Thrillers is an astounding achievement both because each book is so wonderful and because it’s just amazing that the author can somehow keep up the pace. So now we have “Horseman: A Nate Temple Supernatural Thriller Book 10 (The Temple Chronicles)”. I’m not going to summarize this book, as the publisher did a perfectly good enough job of it. I will instead simply note that the legions of Temple fans will love this tale as it has all the chewy snarky goodness and excitement of his prior books. For newcomers, while I still urge starting at book 1, there’s enough of a reset of things that this is a pretty good fallback for a starting point. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

No spoiler that the Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse rides in this latest installment of the Nate Temple Chronicles...or does he? As we have come to expect, Shayne Silvers, wordsmith extraordinaire, takes Nate and his crew on a whiplash inducing roller coaster as Nate must face the consequences of his actions from his previous trip to Hell. He finds out quickly that not showing up at his new job as a tour guide to the fiery inferno is not an option. But Nate has even bigger problems top side, and he must find a way to appease his new boss Anubis to allow him to return to rectify the mistake he made. And boy was it a big one! He accidentally released Mordred son of Arthur, and Mordred wants nothing more than to destroy Camelot and all that is connected to it. That could be a real problem since some of those Camelot artifacts reside with Nate. Add to that, the resolution he thought he had with his Fae side turns out to be not so solid after all. In an epic showdown with Mordred, Nate makes that final decision we’ve all been waiting for, and instead of giving us all those answers we thought we wanted? It only brings a whole new level of WTH?!?!?!? Saddle up, cinch up, and sit deep—this Horseman will take you for one Wylde ride!!

This book was my favorite Nate book so far. The only thing keeping me from having full on dt’s is knowing Callie’s book will come out next month.
So many feels in this book. Lot of laugh out loud moments, A whole lot of action too. I totally adore Nate in this book. His interactions with his friends are always great. Seeing how he is with Alex is heartwarming. I totally treasure his times with Callie. Need more of those times.
Yes, some questions were answered, but man, all the new questions. Can’t even.....
Definitely recommend this book. And it is worth it to start with Obsidian Son, even though the cover of this book grabs you and makes you want to read it Right Now! Wonderful job Shayne.

I just love this series, but this book stands out even among the pantheon Silvers has brought into the world. I loved it for its ability to make me completely loss my cool and burst into laughter. And not just the little chuckles that I have come to expect from these books, but full on belly laughs that taper off then come back strong! I mean two words just undid me! But I also teared up at one of two points. There is a lot of heart in this book. If you've already read the previous books and parallel story line, then it's a no brainer. If you haven't read the Feathers and Fire books, do so. If you've never read any of them then start at the beginning of the series and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

Shayne Silvers is one of the best fantasy writers writing right now. He has an absolute genius knack for telling a story. The Nate Temple series is one you'll not regret reading and Horseman is no exception.
From start to finish Shayne takes you on a ride that not only explains so much of what's going on in Nates world and mind, it is also setting up what is coming. It's a fabulous ride through crazy town. Will you catch all the details?
This series is a must read!
As the store requires! ~ I received a copy from the author and was asked if I'd kindly leave an honest review. I wanted to leave a review and this review is of my own making.

There are a few things I look for in starting a new book series. and the Templeverse series of books scratch all the itches. I will get to the Horseman review in a moment but first I want to talk about the series as a whole.
1: Are there enough books in the series that I can totally binge out and really enjoy
A: With Phantom Queen and Feathers and fire to go along with the Temple Chronicles there at the time of this review 20! (TWENTY) Books in the series.. Totally bingeable..
2: Is the world setting interesting?
A: I have never wanted to visit St. Louis in my life before the templeverse. Now it is up there with New Zealand and Mars as the places I most want to visit.
3: Is the magic system exciting and believable?
A: The hero journey is real in this series.. Nate is an ordinary ho hum "dresdenesque" wizard to start the series and soon discovers that his world or magic goes WAY WAY beyond flinging some fireballs. We are talking power levels on the God Killer, apocalyptic, biblical level. Somehow this is accomplished in the best way possible as Shayne Silvers keeps me on the edge of my seat hoping Nate Temple realizes his full potential as a magic practitioner but never letting the power creep overwhelm the story. It is a hard balance not letting your main character become so powerful nothing challenges them.
That said out of the 20 books in the Templeverse Horseman is my second favorite next to Tiny Gods. And that is only because Horseman is the first book in a three story arc and I am impatient for the next book to be written. Seriously this upcoming arc is going to be EPIC and I can't wait to see what happens next. Every time I feel the series has peaked it just gets better and better. So dear reader if you missed out on this series go get started from book 1. If you left the templeverse for a while and want to come back it is well worth your time to binge and catch up.. Do it now so you have time to catch your breath before the next book.

In Horseman, the 10th book in the Nate Temple series it finds our hero struggling in the aftermath of Nine Souls. Mordred is free from the underworld, and Nate is just waiting for the other shoe to drop. How does he go against an enemy who is smarter, stronger, and more dedicated than any he has faced before? It's going to take all of his power, plus some new revelations to stop this foe. I'm not going to give anything away that isn't in the book description except to say that if you have been following the series so far, this one will blow your mind! The action is amazing, the twists totally unpredictable, the revelations are eye opening, and the ending will leave you salivating for the next volume, which can't come soon enough. Trust me, go and get this book now!

Those that have followed Nate Temple's adventures up to this point know what to expect. A supernatural baddie gets released on St Louis, and Nate and his buddies join forces to fight the good fight. Along the way, there is snarkiness, jokes, and maybe some hints as to Nate's mysterious past. This book has all of that and more. Nate has released a big baddie from the Underworld, and allowed said baddie to become super-powered with some of the souls that said baddie stole on his way out. Now Anubis has given Nate an offer he can't refuse. Defeat the escapee, or else. Nate will need to employ every trick, device, friend and ability that he has to pull this one off. Will it be enough?

Well, if you are Nate, you take on a magical being that terrifies people older, and seemingly more powerful, than he is. All you have to do is be clever enough. This book pulls Quinn's world, Callie, and Nate together beautifully. And the emotional rollercoaster of a man, who wasn't a father from the birth of a child, realizing it doesn't matter a fig. He would die, or kill, to protect the child that is nevertheless his. Excitement, drama, family love, romantic love, and a friendship - or two- that goes beyond the boundaries of blood. My heart was in my throat from the action, drama, and emotions rampant in this marvelous novel.

Nate is back from Hell but he brought some baggage with him. This book was a fantastic start for our hero's inevitable showdown with one of the most famous and powerful wizards in all of fantasy. There are a lot of twists and turns, as well as a lot of unexpected additions to the many trials and tribulations that Nate must face.
This was a fun and entertaining ride through Nate's world with some major stakes on the line. I highly recommend this series for anyone who is a fan of urban fantasy, and if you are caught up on Temple, then absolutely, pick this up and read it now!

Oh my I'm jonesing like a freaking addict looking for their next fix.
I just got done reading this and let me tell you wow. There just aren't words to explain this glorious B's books.
Seriously why are you reading this pick up the book now!!!!!!!
OK One quote "Lawncare pro-tip – regularly water your lawn with the blood of your enemies for the spongiest grass."
Seriously, gold people.... It' snot even the best one I could have picked.....
Shayne is a flipping God of storytelling.

All hail Master Silvers. I shouldn't be writing this yet because I'm still in a daze coming off that roller coaster. Once again Shayne has out-written his previous books. You think we'd be used to that, huh? He doesn't just write words. He inspires your imagination to picture everything as it happens. He grabs hold of your emotions and flings them around. Every time you finish one of his books, you want to start over again from book one so you can better appreciate everything the characters have been through. It isn't just a story, it's an epic adventure into a new universe that you never want to leave. I'm a very lucky reader to have found Shayne Silvers.

One can hardly say this is just another Nate Temple book because there is no such thing. Each book brings it's own craziness while crossing deeper and deeper into the Temple Verse. I'm loving how the Penrose and MacKellan stories are woven into Temple's, there's a lot going on and I'm glad that I have time before the next book comes out to go back and review earlier books. It must be very crowded in Shayne Silvers' head with so much spilling out onto these pages. The man can write.

WOW!!! Some questions answered and a lot more appear! Seems like every time we think we know what's happening, all "Temple" breaks loose!! Loved how the character cross overs fit in, and Nate is actually asking for and accepting help from, well, everyone! Adore the heat brewing between Nate and Callie, and that Alucard has named himself "Prince of St. Louis." A truly incredible read! I received an advanced reader copy free and have voluntarily chosen to leave an honest review.

Horsman continues the brillant Nate Temple series in style. Putting our "Heroes" in the position of "what the hell" and them making them dig themselves out. But when your opponent swings in a completely different weight class what chance do you have to win?
In typical Shayne Silvers fashion he gives his characters so much life I found myself cheering their successes and cursing their failures. As I say after reading each book, I have no clue where this seriers is going to next.

I stumbled upon the first Nate Temple novel by accident, and have devoured them. The plot lines are interesting and often surprising. The characters are well-developed and wonderfully flawed beings. As Nate grew in power and notoriety in the alternate Earth where he resides, I started to worry that he and the story would become boring, like I have seen with overly powerful rpg characters that you eventually put away and save to stir up new campaigns. I am delighted to report that this fear was groundless, because Temple's allies, foes, and problems keep him on his toes.
Shayne Silvers is a marvellous storyteller, full of hard truths and humor, sometimes in the same sentence.

I've never been disappointed with this author and still am not. This series has so many twists and turns you're always left wondering where it's going next or how you missed the signs leading to where at.. he always makes you wanna go back and reread the series to see if you can find the choice that lead Nate to where he is now... definitely worth the time and money for these books.. like me you'll never be disappointed.. and always surprised at the next turn

Your books I have been reading are awesome not the right word but you get my drift. Shane you are above the best sci-fi writer I have ever read. You are the king. All of your books are incredible and no other writer has surpassed your imagination. I bow to your brilliance and creativity. You are an amazing artist. And I have read since I was 13 and am now almost 60 and I have never truly meet another like you. Thank you my hat goes off to you

Very few authors make me impatiently "foot tap" between books. And I can count on one hand the number of authors that are good enough for me to actually review. Shayne is a Master at the former and quite worthy of the latter! He's a Master at casting a literary spell over the reader and transporting them to his world where he'll make them cackle uncontrollably at his snarky wit and total lack of a filter! They'll appreciate the subtle life lessons that they don't even realize he's teaching until it's done, and the intense loyalty and love his character has for those he calls friend or family. Horseman delivers all of that and more and will leave you "foot tapping" with me, impatiently waiting for the next installment to feed your literary habit!!!

I received an advanced copy of this book for my honest opinion. Honestly, I couldn't put it down. I don't know how these books keep getting better. We see different sides to the characters we know and love. We get a healthy respect for our villian, as well as seeing an epic fight. Lastly, as with all Shanye's books, we get more questions and a need for the next one. Hold onto your hats folks!

I love the snark, quotes (including one of my favorites about character) and Easter Eggs(calling me Shirley). My favorite line is “Sorry, Master Temple. I’ve been a bad Elder. A bad, bad Elder.”

The series has not tapered off in depth and character; it remains as fresh and surprising as ever, and the sole drawback or demerit is the relatively long interval between books. This book was FANTASTIC!!! Usually after this many in a series you're losing that "honeymoon feeling" you had the first 3 or 4 books, with Shayne's writing you just don't lose that feeling. TEN books in (not counting Callie & Quinn's stories), I'm still mooning over Nate's adventures & thrilled when a new book is released. If you haven't taken a tour of the Templeverse yet so yourself a huge favor & curl up with Obsidian Son AKA Book #1, I promise you won't regret it!

Horseman tied up a bunch of loose strings, more like burned them off, while starting some new ones. Don't start this book if you don't have time to finish, because you won't be able to sleep.
Mr Silvers gets better with each and every new book and this is no exception. It's the best thing he ever wrote!!

I'll admit it-I'm addicted to this series. The latest does, not disappoint. Some questions are answered but so many new ones are brought up. If you mix Bruce Wayne with Peter Quill, Harry Potter with a pinch of Percy Jackson, you'd have an inkling of who Nate Temple is. Can't wait for the new book.

Wow. This series continues to evolve and grow and a fantastic clip. Somehow at this point it manages to be both comfortably familiar and rattling out of control and the same time, taking surprisingly unexpected turns just when it could have gotten stale. I'm only disappointed that I have to wait any length of time to continue the adventure.

I have to admit...I wasn't expecting much last Monday when I got the first book in the series, just needed something to read while traveling . O. M. G. Just finished 10 and literally can not wait for the next one! Nate Temple just jumped right over Dresdon Files in my world! Soo damn good! (I seriously had a hard time putting them down...on VACATION lol I did manage to get out of my hotel room enough to actually DO things) Well Done Sir, WELL DONE!

The latest Nate Temple book is better than I could have ever hoped for. Answers are finally given, headway is made in the Callow front, and even crazier shenanigans are introduced!!!
The best part is when even Nate realizes the ridiculousness of the growing situation and just wants five minutes to process!!

Things just get Wylder and wilder for Nate. Lots of questions being asked, lots of new aspects to Nate being revealed. All with the drama and action you have come to expect when Nate is involved.
Worth the read.

As usual, Shayne is a Master for details. He weaves a story so well it is no longer just a story but a universe all on its own. Having been a mere spectator for only a few hours but seems like a lifetime, I am eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the Temple Universe. I found it to be extremely well written, exceptional storyline, and womderfully detailed. Shayne is an author I will follow quite closely for a very long time.

Loved this new addition to the Templeverse. The action was plentiful and the delightful twist at the end was unforeseen but entirely enjoyable.
My only (mild) criticism was the big flashback scene happened so fast it felt a little disjointed. I'll blame the editor on that one. Something felt cut in the lead up to the chapter.

All i can say is, once again Shayne has delivered an awesome, entertaining book.
I find myself unhappy that i have to wait until the late this year to read how Nate will grow even more.

Once again Shayne Silvers has taken us on an unpredictable joyride, visiting Hell, that other island near by, St. Louis of course, and a few other remote locations. Just follow the second star to the right, straight on to morning! Hope you join the madness.

There is never a dull moment in any of Shayne's books, but this fast paced heart pounding addition to the series makes sure you can't put it down once you start reading. Some questions are answered and as always we are left with new ones. Love, love, love this book!

Another phenomenal installment <3 Shayne never disappoints! I only wish I could read Legend already, argggh! Some things I saw coming, but that last twist snuck up on me, and I'm effin giddy about it! I love that our beloved, favorite author can still keep me guessing :D Thank you so much for all your hard work!

First off, I think the writing is fabulous. In this book, Nate and Callie finally show just a tad more affection for each other however, there relationship is like watching paint dry, and it's super frustrating. Only one major questions is answered in this book. I sincerely hope the arthur make a statement in her next book instead of prolonging everything once more. Not sure I can keep reading these books if she does.

This whole series keeps you on the edge of your seat, but Horseman is the best yet!!! Shayne Silvers spins a tale that can't be set down. What situation will Gate Temple and his crew find themselves in next. Just got this book 4 days ago and can't wait for the next. Hurry..........

I love Nate and can't wait for the next book. To use a comic reference imagine Tony Stark was a wizard. Love the action and always new hooks in every book sometimes takes a few books before they are adressed. Just fyi these are not standalone books. The individual series are ok by themselves but you need to start at the first book in each series to really have any idea what's going on.

Nate has been through the ringer, and this book doesn’t do him any favors. The nonstop action keeps you on the edge of seat, with no chance to take a breath. We have many surprises, we see many characters, and so many things happen to keep you glued to the pages. One thing I like about this author’s books is that they are generally filled with little things to surprise and intrigue the reader. Easter eggs, hints of future events, etc. Unfortunately, I tend to read too fast, and I’m sure I miss quite a few things. (Yes, I’ve tried reading slower. I ignore the book and have to reread passages if I slow down.) Even with not picking up on most of those fun bits, I quite enjoy myself on the Nate train to….hell? Don’t be like me; enjoy yourself even more and pick up on the little things. This series shows no signs of slowing down! Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

Nate let Mordred escape hell and now, Anubis is giving him a chance to return him. As king he needs to protect his people and he will need all the help he can find to do it. This book is the longest one so far and its packed plum full of everything one comes to expect from an installment in the Templeverse. There are a few scenes that to me seem to be a bit drawn out but at the same time it all needs to be there for you to really get it. Quite a bit happens, information, realizations and of course twists! Get a copy, forget the world while reading then, salivate for the next.

I enjoy that this series doesn't get weighed down in a romance. The real focus is on saving the world, telling that story, and letting the romance develop at a more reasonable pace.

I love Grimm - Nate’s Alicorn - more and more with each book. And Alacard too! Seriously!!! Does Nate ever get to just sit down and enjoy a drink without having to stress about anything !?! Of course I have to wait another couple months for the next one but I know Mr. Silvers will NOT disappoint!!! Cannot wait!!!!!

If you have ever read any of Shayne Silver's books, you know you have to look for "Easter Eggs". His main character, Nate Temple, has grown up. He now looks at himself as he really is. The good the bad and the ugly. His only "HOPE" is his friends and family and extended family. Yes, hope does spring eternal.

Love, love, love Nate's world and the stories get better and better! The only disappointment being that it ended way before I was ready to quit reading. I hate having to wait for the next one, but I am hopeful that Callie will be included in that one......in a more serious and lengthy way.

Nate Temple accidentally allowed Mordred, bastard son of King Arthur, to escape from Hell. So now he has to manage somehow to send him back there. But Mordred, in the process of his escape, somehow managed to abduct the Nine Souls, particularly strong magical souls, to go as part of him, so he is not going to be easy to defeat.
In his quest to conquer Mordred, Nate manages to travel through most of the far-flung areas of his own universe, from a little girl’s tea party with the daughter of a powerful member of the Fae Chancery to a return visit to Hell, to another contest at the Dueling Grounds. Through it all, we have Nate’s pithy comments, and those of his friends, on what is happening.
