While I've never gotten into the Molly Maguire stories, I've really enjoyed each and every Georgie ones. I first found Ms. Bowen in her Evan stories in Wales and loved them too. I really enjoyed reading about the early 30's and the snippets of the Royal Family at that time. Reach it and enjoy.

Malice at the Palace sees a bored Georgie looking for yet another adventure working for the Queen of England. Even though Georgie is 35th in line to the throne, she gets to go on adventures that test her mettle and fortitude. Of course, Darcy is back, along with her brother Binky (a manlet) and his pushy, overbearing wife, Fig. This book deals in the darker side of life in the fast lane---illegitimate births, sudden deaths and near misses.
Belinda, Georgie's friend, finally finds herself pregnant---Belinda is more than sexually experienced, leaving the chaste Georgie in the dust. The dastardly major being blackmailed and then dispatching the blackmailer is a bit contrived, but so are the stupid ghosts that lead him to death.
It takes Darcy at the end of the novel to suggest the couple journey to Gretna Green to tie the knot. Time will tell if they become man and wife.

Another thoroughly enjoyable escapade of Georgie and her crime solving skills. Queenie provides the laughs. Belinda provides a new situation. Darcy - well, after all, he is Darcy and he treats us to an interesting ending. Enjoy!

Lady Georgiana's adventures are always fun to read and the mystery is engaging. I did not like the ending. The perp was unveiled but the use of some ghosts to do it was unnecessary and I think that Ms. Bowen could have gotten the same result in some other fashion
