Disappointed, but if you like fantasy and a book best geared to the pre-teen and early teenager, you'll enjoy how these characters come "off the page". Not my cup of tea. I wish the primary author's name had been listed first, because this appeared to be the work of a young experienced daughter of Jodi Picault (Samantha), and they were cashing in on Jodi's name for top billing. There were no moral or societal issues that cause angst in this story.

My 6th grade daughter and I both read this book. It was great to share our ideas, plot and character development. I purchased it on Kindle and we both read it on our phones. She started and wouldn't stop, I of course had to do Mon duties like dinner, fold clothes and such. I just finished and my daughter is bursting with questions and thoughts about the ending!

This is the followup book that continues the story in Between The Lines...it is cleverly written and a perfect choice for young readers who can relate to the characters! It was purchased to encourage summer vacation reading!!
Pause to Rewind: A Novel :: Between the Lines :: Second Glance: A Novel :: Smelly Socks :: Sing You Home

While the idea is ok, thought not new, the characters are way too stereotypes, the plot totally predictable and even the " magic" part feels too much like a hook. It felt a lot like a construction and not like a story. I did not like it and I would not recomend it.

This was a lovely book. Funny, heartwarming, sad, happy, and filled with truths about life- if you look closely enough. It made me smile and feel good inside, for real. It made me hope. Filled with the insight, wisdom and creativity of a wonderful mother-daughter author combo. I'm so glad that I read it.

What a wonderful book! Sometimes sequels fall flat but not this one. I was engaged throughout and really wondered how it was all going to turn out in the end. Much enjoyed. I heard Jodi Picoult say in an interview that it could be read as a stand alone book, and I suppose technically it could, but I don't think I would've enjoyed it nearly as much if I hadn't read "Between The Lines" first--which I also though was unique and wonderful. They may be marketed as YA fiction, but this far from young reader loved them. And if you're an audiobook lover, the readers are excellent!

I really liked the little snippets of advice from Jessamyn. The beginning and middle of this book where ehhh, they just dragged on a big. But the last part of the book is what made me give it 4 stars instead of 3.
