I was given an advance copy of the perfect illusion I voluntarily read it. Wow this book has more twists than a pretzel, this book has all the great drama of a classic love. The anger, the passion, the secrets, the jewels wow who doesn't dream of an 8 karat diamond. The secret, the intrigue, the joys and the laughter. I am so very happy to say this book wasn't the same old run of the mill book. The heroine is confident, sexy and a bit of a risk taker. The hero hmmm is he damaged, scared or just unaware. The baby daddy is a rich boy who has never grown up. An x girlfriend from hell who oh did I mention is the babies aunt, that's gotta suck lol karma wins again. The hero builds her the house of her dreams, and her dad a pretty cool she'd. The hero grows up and shows he is the man she fell in love with not the horrible demanding arrogant boss. Wow a true Cinderella dream, definitely a must read can't wait for more from this author.

Well Winter Renshaw managed to do it again and keep me turning pages until I had finished this intriguing story!

Hudson is arrogant and quite unlikable to begin with and you feel for Mari when this spoil rich man used to getting his own way makes her an offer she can't refuse, even if she struggles to be around him! But, as the story unfolds we begin to see a much softer side to Hudson and understanding begins to take place as we get to know him more!

The chemistry between Hudson and Mari is brilliantly written as it simmers to life as they get to know each other but with some truths about to be revealed - will they take this fake relationship to the next level? I guess you will have to read to find out!

Winter has managed to once again provide us with a great story, some hot and steamy moments and two characters we can't but help wish a HEA for!

Apparently I found a sale on alpha-holes, because I've read several of them in pretty quick succession. It took a lot for me to like Hudson. Thanks to my personal experience that says arrogant jerks don't make good romantic heroes, he had an uphill battle. But the second half of the book made me believe. I really loved that we got to see him discover that he was worthy of love, and that love was worth striving for. I'm so glad that about half of this book is about the changes that happen for Hudson and Mari to be together. I've read too many books where it's in the last 3 chapters that the hero has an epiphany and he turns into Prime Charming after having been nothing more than a prime jackass for the whole book. I also have to say, I did not see that plot twist coming. It wasn't a complete surprise, I just didn't expect that we would go there.
I received a complimentary copy of this book.

OMG!!!! Hudson is seriously my boyfriend book for the month he is a typical, I am the man kind of guy and of course rich, however he is so much more inside in which he tries to hide. However he is the true sweetheart and I just fell in love with him. Now as for Mari I so love her personally she is so well keep and stays true to who she is. I love how she tells Hudson how she really feels and makes it know he is a totally ass. I so wish their story would have lasted longer because I so wanted more, however I hope that Alec gets a story so we can see more of Hudson. Alec is also a typical guy but shows true colors and make you just love him in the end. I dont want to give anything away because there are a lot of twists but i so loved it. I was given the book as a ARC to give my honest review and so this is how i truly feel. It is a must read I promise you will enjoy. GET IT NOW !!

This is the story of two very different people on a collision path with reality. Mari is unintentionally and unexpectedly expecting. Hudson needs a wife, so he says, to avoid an unwanted marriage. Hudson doesn't know Mari is pregnant and she doesn't divulge this when she signs a contract for their make-believe, illusory marriage. During their time together they learn alot about each other. Some of what they learn is elucidating -- such as learning to do the right thing. Some is devastating. Ultimately they learn and love and find their way to a real forever. In this well-written tale we meet some salt of the earth people, bask in the art of forgiveness, and understand the power of second chances.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book provided by the author. Once again Ms. Renshaw shows her artistry and craftsmanship in a memorable tale.

I voluntarily read this book for an honest review. I have read a few other Winter Renshaw books, so I jumped at the chance to read this one. She has a way of writing that draws you into the story and it's hard to put down, because you want to know what's going to happen next. The formula of this book is a popular one right now, Billionaire hero and working girl heroine. In this case Mari (Maribel) starts off as Hudson's personal assistant. Who she absolutely hates, and attempts to quit her job. He offers her a five million dollar deal that she can't refuse, be his fake girlfriend/wife. She knows it's going to blow up in their faces, but who can turn down five million dollars? Somewhere along the line the relationship becomes real to both of them. They have their bumps along the way, and a twist that I never saw coming. But as with her other books, I loved it.

I really like this book. I immediately like Mari and Hudson, even though Hudson started off as a major jerk lol. And I'm a big fan of the fake fiancé storyline. Hudson agrees to give Mari $5M if she agrees to be his fiancé under the ruse of his mother trying to marry him off to another woman, and Mari agrees, without telling Hudson that she's pregnant already from a one night stand. Drama.

I fee like the attraction between the two characters at the beginning was kinda forced. There was no indication, at least to me, that they were actually attracted to each other at the beginning, so it seemed like the attraction happened very suddenly.

I like how Hudson wasn't afraid to tell Mari that things were starting to feel real for him.

It was a good read. I enjoyed it.

One thing I can always guarantee is that Winter Renshaw grabs your attention in the very first paragraph of all her books. This book “The Perfect Illusion” is wonderfully written with well-developed characters. The main characters Hudson and Mari have wonderful chemistry. Loved the twists and turns throughout the book. Both characters are strong in nature and work beautifully together. My only disappointment is that I’m wondering where these two characters are five years from where the book ended. I would love to read a spin-off. I finished this book with smile on my face knowing that it was well worth my time and attention. Winter Renshaw once again did an amazing job capturing so much within the pages of this book. I’m being quite vague because I hate reading spoilers so I don’t want to do that here. Another great book by Winter Renshaw. Of course its another one of those lets pretend we are together books.. I love them, especially when its written well and isn't a copy of others. Winter knows how to spin the story line and make it her own book. Perfect Illusion is just that perfect. I loved it from the very first page all the way to the end.

So in we get Hudson who is a man whore whose parents want him married off to some other rich heiress and of course he doesn't want to give up his way of life. So he does the only thing he can think of, he pretends...I guess he didn't realize with Winter writing his story he wouldn't get what he wants. Ha... I love it. Hudson hires his assistant to play the role even though she hates his guts...This book is simply good. go get it and get to reading.

Mari (Maribel) can't take working for her boss Hudson anymore, now to figure out what to write in the resignation letter, oh stuff it "I quit". Now Hudson is making her an offer to help him, to act a part for him, to avoid him having to marry a friend of the family's daughter (Audrina), she kind of needs the money he is offering but will she take him up on it? It would require having to behave like she likes this sexy, spoilt, arrogant man and that might be too hard, maybe his persistence will make her do it though. It was great fun to wait this sassy pair fall, and Mari certainly rips into Hudson when he needs it. When the secrets come out will it ruin their chances of happiness together? Or can they work it all out? Can the perfect Illusion become real?

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to leave an honest review. That being said, I loved this book! It is very well written by the author with very few grammatical errors. I loved the fact that they for once this wasn't a love at first sight book and they immediately sleep together and fall in love. Mari actually hates Hudson after being his executive assistant for a while due to his lack of respect for his employees. After he gives her a proposition she can't refuse, she agrees to be his fake fiancé. After spending time with him, she realizes Hudson intentional treats his assistance like crap and she fines the gooey heart beneath the façade. However the entire proposition was based on a little white lie on both their parts. I won't go into detail as I don't want to spoil it but I would definitely recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of ths book. I really enjoyed this latest book from Ms Renshaw. I found Mari and Hudson great characters from the start. Mari is a woman who will not be taken advantage of and decides two months is long enough to work for Hudson and his disrespectful and rude behavior. She has made up her mind to quit and tell him how she really feels about the way he is. Hudson is so caught up in his own world that the can't believe it. He however has an offer for Mari that she agrees to. The story picks up from there and what happens makes for a great read. This book had me smiling from the beginning. I loved the chemistry between Mari and Hudson. The "illusion" the two try to present is great. This is one of my top favorites of Ms Renshaw's books. Would love to see what becomes of Mari and Hudson's story. Great HEA!

The prefect illusion by Winter Renshaw is a 4 star read.
Maribel Collins is a PA to an arrogant, bossy architect and she's currently writing her resignation after only 2 months in the job. Working for Hudson has been hell and she doesn't need the stress anymore after finding out that she's pregnant after a one night stand but when Hunter offers her a chance to make a lot of money she knows it has disaster written all over it but accepts anyway.
Hudson Rutherford is a rich successful architect but he's not looking forward to the month he has to spend with family and friends over the summer so he offers his PA a chance she can't say no to but Hudson never expected to fall for her. This was a really good story I enjoyed all the twists and turns, I'd highly recommend it.

Mari despises Hudson. She's his PA and he's an arrogant, self-centered jerk but, he needs a favor. Mari accepts his proposal and their fake engagement begins. It should be easy enough to manage for a few months without divulging secrets.

It is fun watching Mari and Hudson navigate the waters of being a couple without letting themselves feel any emotion. Their story sucks you in and you can't put the book down. The realization that they really do like each other and enjoy spending time together is so sweet. But, that is before the secrets are revealed and the hurt crushes them. There's also an element of surprise I didn't see coming that enhances the story to another level.

This is a really good book and I recommend it.

Another fantastic read by Winter Renshaw! Hunter Rutherford hires Maribel Collins to act as his fake fiancée to plot his revenge against his ex. I know the "fake fiancée" story has been written about many times before, but this book was the perfect combination of romance and humor. I absolutely loved Maribel's sassy character and how she is able to bring down Hunter, an alpha male who is used to getting everything he wants.

She has a secret that may be a deal breaker (unbeknownst to Hunter), but the two cannot deny their chemistry. Pretending in front of others develops into real feelings.

I chuckled throughout the whole story and easily finished it in one sitting. I highly recommend "The Perfect Illusion!"

I absolutely adored this book!

Here’s the thing about Winter Renshaw’s books. She doesn’t mince words. She doesn’t add a bunch of fluff and she doesn’t lead you on a long journey of unnecessary words. She gets right to the meat of the story and takes off running.

The Perfect Illusion is a fake marriage story and a darn good one. One closed off, egotistical male? Check. One independent, sassy, but in need or help female? Check. Meddling side characters? Check. However, Renshaw adds in a helluva twist that was surprisingly clever. Lots of chemistry between Mari and Hudson adds the romantic layer to the story. All of this comes together to create a perfect recipe of romantic goodness!

I can’t wait for you to read this new romance from Winter Renshaw!!

I LOVED Mari and Hudson! Spunky secretary Mari has worked 2 months for the insufferablely arrogant and dismissive Hudson which is 2 months to many...finding out she's pregnant from a one night stand with a guy she can't seem to track down again, she decides she needs yo make a major change. She's going to quit.

Hudson has other plans. He has the need for a fake fiancee/ wife and Mari fits the bill. Convincing her is hard but he is not one to accept a 'no, the second part is much harder...not falling for her.

This is a great story about a strong woman and a deceptively sweet man with a solid heart. I absolutely could not put this one down and look forward to looking at the rest of these authors' catalogues! ❤

Thus is my honest review of a voluntarily read ARC from Hidden gems.

Hudson was a successful architect whose talent was coveted by many. There was a problem, not many could stand his demands and always got his assistants name wrong. Mari has had enough. She's tired of being treated like a second class citizen, never getting the respect she deserves, and a boss who consistently calls her the wrong name. Finally taking a stand she leaves Hudson's company and is presented with a very interesting dilemma. Can you fall in love with someone you hate or overlook all the things that drive you mad with anger? I absolutely thought Hudson was hilarious and portrayed a totally brilliant person but clueless on how to treat others. Mari never would stand for Hudson's antics and would gladly put him in his place.

I received an advance copy for an honest review and I loved it.

Wow! Author Winter Renshaw takes you on an adventure in her latest book The Perfect Illusion. I was apprehensive at first to read this book when I realized that it's over 40 chapters long. But it is SOOOOOO worth it.

This is a story of Mari, a personal assistant to Hudson, an architect.

Mari hates her boss...so much that she quits in the first chapter. But her boss has a proposition for Mari that she can't refuse. Be his fake fiance for the summer and he will pay her five million dollars.

There are many twists and turns in this book that you won't be able to put it down...it will feel like you are on a roller coaster.

At times you will hate Hudson, then fall in love with him.
At times you admire the strong will of Mari, then want to shake her for not trusting her gut.

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book, The Perfect Illusion by Winter Renshaw.

I can't believe I'm just now getting my first taste of Winter's work, she is so incredibly talented. This book is so good, I just wanted to get lost in it and it never end.

It's about Hudson and Mari, boss and assistant, that become a whole lot more for very different reasons. Hudson is being pressured to marry a family friend that he has zero desire to be with and he makes Mari an offer she cannot refuse. She has her own reasons for agreeing to help Hudson but that's gonna stay her "little" secret for as long as possible. It's simply a business deal that is mutually beneficial to Hudson and Mari, what could possibly go wrong?

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. This book might have just taken the cake as far as my new favorite book! I love all of Winter's books and the way that she writes but this one was different for me and I'm not even sure how to put it into words other than it got me right in the feels from the very first page?.

I love all of her series but sometimes it's nice to read a true standalone where you can totally lose yourself in the characters and not have to try and remember if you are already familiar with them from another book or if you definitely do know them and have very strong feeling d one way or the other to have those feelings changed...you know what I mean?!? Now don't get me wrong I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of her series and when she can make me change my mind about a hated Character all the better!!

Love Hudson and Mari!! The story was captivating and kept me turning pages till
I finished the book.
Mari was tendering her resignation to Hudson as she is sick and tired of working with such an
arrogant, condescending jerk. Hudson offered her a job with a substantial amount of money to play
his fake fiancee to stop his mother from pushing him to get married. She accepted it without thinking clearly
that there is just one problem. Hudson had another ulterior motive for this fake engagement. There is a lot of
twists and turns. What will happen when the two secrets comes out in the open? You will have to read to find out.

Winter Renshaw is a genius, I love her work, each new story makes you fall in love all over again, and this one is no different.

OK so let me start by saying that when I read the blurp I was a little apprehensive, felt like yeah this kind of story has been done tons of times, but let me stop you right there, Winter Renshaw managed to twist it and add her own touches that made me laugh. I also loved the different twist she managed to add. the only thing is I wish it was just a little longer.

Mari was hilarious, I loved her sass, her strong character and the no nonsense ways, honesty it was very refreshing. she made the whole book and might be one of my favorite characters in all her books.

I really thought this might be the first Winter Renshaw book I didn't like, because Hudson really was such an @sshole at the beginning, throwing money around to get whatever he wants! BUT...then you witness the dynamic between he and Mari, another amazing heroine by WR, which I think is actually my favorite part of all of her books; strong women that don't back down and have amazing wit and self-awareness, but I digress! You see his walls slowly come down and realize why he is the way he is. I loved the family interaction on both sides, which could not be more opposite. I did not see the twist coming, which is good. It was quick and I love how it worked it's way out to a fun new family dynamic! My favorite part, which had me crying at my desk was the rubber band...you'll have to read it to find out. It's SO worth it!

Mari is Hudson’s assistant, and she has had enough of working for this self absorbed arse who is completely unaware of how he is perceived. When Mari quits Hudson is taken aback and issues an offer she cannot turn down; be his fake fiancée for family gatherings etc, but she has a secret that she is hiding. No spoilers from me, you absolutely have to read this wonderful story for yourself!!
This is a flawlessly written novel, and Winter never disappoints her readers. In my opinion this story is worth so much more than the 5 star rating allowed. I have a very difficult time picking a favorite out of Winter Renshaw's books because I love her writing so much, but this book is definitely near the top!! I loved every second of it! Mari and Hudson were amazing characters and I loved that this wasn't your typical enemies to lovers/fake fiancee story. I don't plan on giving anything away, but I will say that I love surprises! :) The chemistry between Mari and Hudson was jumping off the pages from the beginning! First her hate towards him and then their eventual friendship and sexual tension! It was great to see their relationship blossom into something neither of them expected. There were also so many great supporting characters in this book too that gave it life. I feel like the presence of family and friends and antagonists made the story feel that much more real. Books based in reality are so much more entertaining to me than those where everything is wrapped up in a neat little bow! Overall, this is another great book by Winter and (like usual) I can't wait to read whatever she has for us next!!

Wow. I can barely form words after reading this book. Winter Renshaw knows how to gently put your heart in her hands, squash it and then put it back together like new. It seems to be her M.O. and you have to love her for it.

Hudson Rutherford is the boss everyone hopes they will never end up working for. Lucky Mari(bel) finds herself in just that position until she's had enough and quits. Hudson has another job in mind for her and he won't accept no as Mari's answer. Who in their right mind could possibly reject it? Mari tries but the arrogant Hudson wears her down. Fake fiancee for how much? What could go wrong? Oh baby...so so much.

Main Characters: Mari & Hudson

4 1/2 out of 5 stars

This is another hit for Ms. Renshaw. I liked Mari's character. She was strong, sexy, funny and pretty much knew what she wanted and didn't want which was pretty much to not keep working for her arrogant boss. Hudson might have been an ass to start out with but he grows on you. Great humor from the 2 MC. This book is a standalone, contemporary romance with a hea ending. I could have used some more interaction between Mari & Hudson and there some twists in their story. I definitely recommend this book to read.

They both get to know each other and soon Mari isn't hating Hudson and see him in a new light as a good guy. Their sexy chemistry is sweet together as they give into their urges. The Perfect Illusion by Winter Renshaw is definitely not your traditional romance book.
Boss/Employee tropes are one of my go to reads, and this book follows along those lines, but with a massive twist that sets the story on a completely different path.
Mari is the type of heroine I love to read about. She is strong when she needs to be, but is happy to take a back seat should she have to.
I liked how Mari and Hudson interacted with one another, but the best part for me was when Hudson had his own little light bulb moment and proving he really isn't the jerk he tries to portray himself to be.
Such a great read.

This book was so well written, in my opinion, this author seems to get better with each book. I had a very hard time trying to put it down, so guess what, I stayed up and didn't put it down until it was done. The story has lies, dislike, hatred, revenge and of course, love. I especially enjoyed reading about how Mari reacted to her boss, Hudson, when he kept mispronouncing her name just to get a rise out of her. The way these two characters were written was fantastic. I enjoyed chuckling at Audrina's reactions to Hudson and Mari's news. Add Audrina's brother, Alex just for a bit of fun and this story is awesome.

This is a sweet, fun romance between an arrogant millionaire and his feisty PA. Hudson Rutherford pays Maribel Collins to be his pretend fiancee for three months to get his family off his back. What starts out as pretend between Hudson and Mari becomes so much more. The witty, funny, snarky, flirtatious banter between the characters flowed naturally. There are great secondary characters, especially Mari's parents, who make the story engaging. What an enjoyable read with some twists and tasteful sex scenes thrown in. The Perfect Illusion

When you need a fake fiancé, why look any farther than the closest woman to your right?

The boss need a fake fiancé so his lifestyle won't change - his assistant is hot. He can spend time with her - she'll do. It doesn't matter she is in the midst of quitting he is such an arrogant a**. The check he is promising her to do this is worth more than enough to put up with him.

Believe me this book will have you laughing, and pulling your hair at turns. You will love it. Definitely worth a read.

There are two bonus books with it as well for you to enjoy.

How I love a marriage of convenience storyline! All the angst driven romances filled with hopes and dreams desperately wondering if the other person feels exactly the same way. In A Perfect Illusion Winter Renshaw captures this trope seemlessly as she introduces you to her character Hudson and Mari. While it's not love at first sight for these two, Renshaw reels you in with their pull and tug of personalities and sham of a marriage. It was easy to be swept away in their love. if you are looking for a sweet, romantic read that holds true to a marriage of convenience story line then don't hesitate to one click this one. I loved it.

I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was a surprisingly sweet read. Winter Renshaw took some traditional romance tropes, turned them on their heads, and made them her own. Every book of hers I've read has felt original and fresh and believable.

Maribel was a strong character willing to stand up for herself, stick to her guns as long as she could, and do the hard thing when necessary. Hudson was someone I got to see grow from someone I wasn't sure how I was supposed to like to someone I was rooting for in the end.

Once again, Ms. Renshaw, thank you for another great story.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. And I must say, "The Perfect Illusion" is the perfect book! It starts with Mari on the verge of handing in her resignation to her jerk of a boss, Hudson. Hudson is good-looking, wealthy, and used to getting what he wants. He offers Mari 5 million dollars to be his fake fiancé for 3 months. Without giving anything away, this book will take you on quite a ride. As secrets are exposed, the story takes you down a completely different path. I couldn't put it down! I didn't want it to end. I will definitely be on the lookout for more books by Winter Renshaw.
