Very eye opening reminder of all the craziness in our world. Characters are so believable and down to earth. Appreciate the prepper information. Looking forward to following the characters into the next book. Am hoping to see a little deeper walking with God situations in next book. Keep up the good job!!

Ava's Crucible is trademark Goodwin! Compelling story woven around current events. The storyline is not only plausible but is already evident in many ways in America today. Goodwin has a perfect read on the seismic shifts the media ignores!

I really enjoy M.G.'s books. This was more of a 4.5 than 4. I deducted the .5 due to the convenience factor and the ability of the characters to kill without any remorse. As a Christian, I can't imagine taking a life and not feeling anything, even if it was the life of an evil person. I would hope to at least feel a little sad that a life was wasted. Other than that, I enjoyed the story. I feel M. G. Has a good grasp of biblical prophecy and tells a great "what if" story.

Mark Goodwin is the second author I have actually signed up to get new release notifications from. I really enjoy the prepper/EMP fiction genre, and since I also enjoy biblical fiction, I enjoy everything he writes. The thing about this genre is that it feels horrifyingly plausible. This time, Goodwin's story is less about the destruction of society from the outside than the downfall of society from the inside. The entitled, urban mob turned by media spin is pretty believable, and it's scary the way they quickly turn the city into a war zone. I was not as sure whether it was believable that Ava is both a believing Christian and a blindly unforgiving man-hater, but of course, that makes for good tension in the story.
As always, I enjoy the gun safety and emergency preparedness tips the author slips in. As a homesteading skills blog author, I have picked up some cool ideas from Mark Goodwin.

I have read all of Mark's books and this ranks up there with the best. I enjoy the spiritual angle that he brings to his books and the content usually just catches me and brings me along to the end. Well written. Good book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I never write reviews, therefore; I know that this book was thoroughly enjoyable and educational. I have also read other series of books you have written, and I've also enjoyed them. Thank you

All of Goodwins writing has been fantastic, and this story is no exception. Great read! I would reccomend any of his books to American Patriots and Christians who see what's happening to this great nation.

I love all of Mark Goodwin's series...they're different from each other, which keeps you coming back for more! Attention grabbing, nail biting, & nerve wracking (a good nerve wracking, though, if there is such a thing!).

Mark has once again kicked off a promising series. Ava is a real character with real problems and conflicts. Some of the situations she encounters led me to wonder how I would respond - drawing me into the story. The clashes with Antifa left my heart racing.
Although it borrows a bit on details from his other books, that’s pretty much unavoidable from such a prolific author. The final chapter seemed a bit rushed - I would have liked to have seen it stretched out over 2 or 3 - but the reasoning behind that is plausible.
Ultimately, I enjoy and appreciate the way Mark weaves prepping ideas, details and faith in Jesus into his storytelling - excellent “faction”!
I’ll definitely diving into book 2 as soon as it’s released!

With even a minimal understanding of what is going on in the U.S. today, it's not a huge stretch that this plotline may very well be in our future. Once again, Mark Goodwin does well bringing current events and fiction into what I like to call a "fictional reality" of what the future holds.

Lol, ridiculous blather to the point of unpatriotic treason. Luckily we still have a free country. The few hundred sold will be the last.......laughable attempt at fiction with a dusting of bible thumping and anti-American dirty right wing lies. Don't waste a cent on this drivel.

Loved it...only one complaint...I have to wait for the next one. I loved the characters and the story line. I have read all of Mark's series and have not been able to put them down once I got started. This is another great adventure. None of this may ever happen if all God's people stay vigilant and hold this country up in prayer continually but it's very wise to be prepared for any scenario. I live very close to a fault line so being prepared for the big one is something I take seriously. Mark's books have so many great tips for being ready so I enjoy them also as teaching aids. Keep up the great work Mark!!!

Another amazing and thought provoking book by Mark Goodwin. Keeping a focus on faith while also allowing the reader to imagine how things could very easily turn out for Americans if things don't soon change. I've learned so much from all of Goodwin's books. I can't wait till read more of Ava's adventures !

It goes without saying Mark's books are engrossing and thought provoking to say the least, and Ava's Crucible does not disappoint. Another one I couldn't put down and read in one setting. Thanks Mark.

I have enjoyed every one of Mark Goodwin's books. This is another look at our faltering nation. If this doesn't frighten you, nothing will. It could happen tomorrow. Let's pray it doesn't and that God has mercy on us.

I love your books. AVA'S CRUCIBLE BOOK 1 reads like the news SHOULD read these days. Today, for example, Judge Kavanaugh was vilified on national TV for something that he didn't do. America has forgotten due process and the concept of "innocent until proven guilty." The chaos created by the Democrats in the last 10 years has torn my family apart, and put a wedge between some of my friends and myself. But I know that God is in control. Most of the people with whom I worship are on the same side that I am. It has rekindled my desire to know God and His word.
I've tried to talk friends of mine into reading your books. I don't know if any of them have taken what I said seriously. I can't explain how your writings have brought the Bible to life in my heart. Thank you for your hard work. I know that you stand for the truth.

Enjoyed reading this book about a girl that wasn't all together, who thought she was alone only to have people she couldn't have imagined come into her life at such a time as these.
Thank you Mr Goodwin for writing good clean prepper stories that I don't have to worry if anyone sees the book open or hears it. Now I can't wait to get into book two.

Some people may get turned off by the religious theme, Bible quotes peppered throughout, & Ava’s irritating attitude about men. But, I found myself really enjoying the entire thing, and I also learned a few things. One of the most important things is that, through years and years and years of anger and resentment for my grandfather, who was a preacher, I have discovered I can forgive him. I’m not saying what he did was okay, but I think one of the things that I struggled with the most is that I must have forgotten he was human. I couldn’t understand why, or how, he could have done such an awful thing. I thank the author for using his talent to share this lesson, so I could learn to let my pain go, remember my grandfather was just a man, and his debt had already been paid.

This book sets the stage for a realistic and, based on recent events, thoroughly plausible series of books and events. Mark Goodwin is a excellent story teller. But this is the most frightening and plausible of his books to date.
