I love this series! It was entertaining and was hard to put down. It is going to be a very interesting story line about a woman with the power to put out fires. I hope to see more of this series soon.

Fantastic continuation in a new series! I was sucked in pretty fast to Lizzie and her life of action. Keeping bombs from exploding and fires from spreading. What a ride! It's a clean, great read for anyone!

This book was wonderful.. It keeps your attention from start to finish. Not a book you've read over and over again. Lizzie is a Fire Impeder. Something I've never read about before. The action never stops. I loved this book. This is the first time I've read anything by this author and I will be sure to read more of her work

Two words captivating and addicting! Again Andrea Pearson started an addicting series; the way she describe things and with specific detail in story have me in a trance as if I’m there in the story or actually watching it play out in front of my eyes. Once I pick up the book to read I can’t stop till the end of it. Warning guys, It is extremely addicting lol. Totally I recommend it to everyone.

Andrea Pearson is a great author. I have loved all of her books. I was excited to read "Lizzie's" story, because she has always been one of my favorite characters. I look forward to reading the rest of the Koven Chronicle series.

I started this, and had trouble putting it down. The characters, actually came across as real. There were times my adrenaline levels went WAY up as the plot thickened.
I have not read the previous book, but now truly wish that I had. Lizzie is someone I would love to know.
Will look forward to trying to read many more of Andrea's books.

I really liked this book, Andrea really brings the characters out, and with lizzie working for them, being very knowledgeable of her magic, I loved following along with her on her investigation. I Highly recommend

Clear your schedule before reading. You do not ease into this story. You are off and running with Lizzie the minute you begin. It is nonstop twist and turns everywhere. I have not read any of the other books related to this series but I am already looking for them.

The Shade Amulet follows Lizzie from The Mosaic Series. I'm glad to see a mini series starring her and how she has chosen to continue on with her life. I would love to read more about her story and see it unfolds.

Lizzie is first introduced in Forsake of the Mosaic Chronicles. A prophecy says she will kill the evil Cerebrus hounds. This information is kept from her by Nicole, her best friend. After growing up and being schooled as a Fire Impeded, Lizzie is told of the prophecy and that she must go to Alaska for more information. In Alaska she discovers she must obtain the shade amulet which will help her in destroying the hounds. While all of this is happening, fire vampires are pursuing her. Go along on her quest to destroy the hounds.

I thoroughly enjoyed Andrea Pearson’s The Shade Amulet; I even stayed up waaay to late to finish it AND read the teaser chapters included for the next book in the Koven Chronicles series. I met Lizzie as Nichole’s best friend in the Mosaic Chronicles and enjoyed getting to know her better in The Shade Amulet. No swearing, no “uncomfortable” scenes, just a lot of action and adventure and mystery. This was a GREAT read! Can’t wait to see what happens next . . . ! Oh – and did I mention the cover art is gorgeous!

Brilliant writing! The words flow like water in the creek. This series is such a joy to read. The storyline ran fast and furious and continues with Lizzie as a Fire Impeded. She could keep guns from going off and bombs from blowing up. She worked with the Police department and was one of only a few. Things started happening with other people and the hounds. Exciting storyline! Good book. I received a complimentary copy of this book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. If you have never heard of Andrea Pearson be prepared to fall in love with her writing. If you are a fan, Lizzie's destiny has finally arrived and she's meeting it head on. Meet a more mature complex Lizzie in this exciting adventure that opens her eyes to what fate has held in store for centuries. The beginning of a great new series or a wonderful stand alone book.

Another author to add to my favourites list. This book catches you from the get go. Humans have magic abilities! Our heroine is Lizzie who is a Fire Impeder. Which means she can stop anything that needs a spark to ignite it, bombs, guns, anything like that and of course flames. She is happy in her house putting out anything that needs her talents. Then she see a large hound eating a body and her life is never the same again. Awesome read.

Set in the same world as the Mosaic Chronicles, this book begins the Koven Chronicles and tells Lizzie's story after college. Lizzie is a Fire Impeder using her magic to help firefighters and policemen stop disasters when her world suddenly gets more interesting. Events that were set in motion years before are finally coalescing around Lizzie, and she must face them in order to survive. This thrilling book begins what looks to be a fantastic journey through the Koven Chronicles! You won't be able to wait for the next book.

Fantastic characters. Entertaining. Unpredictable. Witty. Easy to read.
Lizzie is a wonderful mix of strength and weakness, confidence and uncertainty, comfort and want & so many other dichotomies. While the story is mainly serious, there are also a good number of humorous point.
I was provided this book as an ARC by the author; however, the review is my honest opinion.

I did not read Miss Pearson's other series. Because of how well written the characters are in this book I will now. Being the only one able to see the hell hounds that haunt her days and nights Fire Impeder Lizzie is gifted an enchanted amulet to help her in hunt. Aiding her is Abel, along with the only good hell hound she knows Alexander. Between all three of them they must save Petersville from the hell hounds and the fire vampires. Can Lizzie do it? Can the Shade Amulet help?

This book is mesmerizing from beginning to end. I had trouble putting it down. As Book1 of the Koven Chronicles it can easily stand on its own, be read as part of the series, or as a follow on to the Mosaic Chronicals also by Andrea Pearson. I did receive this book for free with a promise to write a review, but I had previously purchased the Mosaic Chronicals. I will be purchasing other Coven Chronicles books.

Andrea has created another series staring a bad ass heroine who is a fire Arete. She is rare and special. She is being hunted and wants to be the Hunter instead. Well written and full of fun situations. As a first book, it is great, now I want to read the second one. Thanks Andrea for giving us so many hours of great reading.

I really enjoyed this first book in the series. I captured me from the first line. It was well written and I loved the story. I like how the female character has a great personality and has a sassy attitude. Highly recommend! I look forward to the next book in this series! I received an arc for a voluntary review.

Andrea Pearson has a way of creating a world within our world that pulls you in from page one and doesn’t let you go until you finish not just the book, but the whole series. Most people start reading Andrea Pearson because of her Mosaic Chronicles, but I started reading her because of this book. This is the first book in the Koven Chronicles written by Andrea Pearson. It is Lizzie’s story that takes place after the Mosaic Chronicles. Each book pulls you into Lizzie’s story and leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more at the end. If you are looking for a good clean fantasy this is the book for you.
