A lot of the successful series out there fall into this category of light, entertaining. Start strong with good first 1-2 books, most with a reasonable story/plot, and then kind of tread water or kinda go downhill -- from my perspective. They start leaping into soap opera big time and just keeps on going. There goes credibility, the more far out the story gets.

First, why does this, and so many others, pop up as Mil? It's clear most of these authors never served and really don't have a good idea of the culture nor TO, tactics, techniques, etc., etc. I will say that one of the main reasons I've read this series is this author brings up a lot of military history. Some of his interpretation leaves a little to be desired but he goes into and describes a lot of military history over the past 2,000 years. Most of the other authors don't know or bother.

The Authors generally write well, don't get too technical and this one follows that. But the super hero keeps doing the impossible and the story goes soap, in a bad way for me.

This is entertainment, as many others are, and if you want to settle down on serious, thought provoking, look elsewhere . If you want to pass some time and be entertained, as I do waiting for my authors, then this will do. At least you learn some military history.

The books of the Extinction Wars comes to a climactic end with Fortress Earth. After several epic adventures Commander Creed finally faces Abaddan in a battle to determine the fate of Earth.
This book as with the previous three is extremely well written with multiple plot twists and turns. The primary protagonists have been developed over the course of the previous books and they stand steady in the face of Earth's enemies.
As if two books have been melded together, Fortress Earth keeps you rapidly turning pages to find out what's coming next. Five stars are almost not enough for what the author has given us here.

As the enemies got bigger and scarier, the idea that the same commander could keep pulling off improbable miracles just got more and more ludicrous.

In addition, an overall pattern emerged showing that the author was running out of ideas. That, combined with the mediocre quality of the writing made me seriously consider just returning the book from my Kindle Unlimited list without finishing. This author needs MUCH better editing than he's getting, and a serious writing coach as well.

I'm done--no more Vaughn Heppner books for me.

Ok read, a bit to many references to the previous books in the series. II know why this is done, but it seems like wordfill. I have read most of the authors books and have enjoyed them, this one not so much. Do I just need to read the most current in the series. There has to be a better way to get readers to buy previous books.need better editing. Too many typos and context errors.

The fourth book in the series is probably the best book in the series. It not only had great battles of space warfare, but the plot took a pleasant turn I did not foresee. The entire Extinction Earth series has been great and very enjoyable. Heppner has studied the great battles and references them often in his books. He is truly one of my favorite authors and I hope that the series continues.

Commander Creeds' final fight? This was an action packed finale and I highly recommend it to the fans of the sci-fi genre. Can the near immortal being Abaddon be defeated or at least exiled. Not everyone makes it out alive in this novel. I highly recommend The Lost Starship series of the same author, Captain Maddox is quite a character.

Just when you think space battles could not be more epic. The next emerges with even more combatants using more fantastic weapons. With our hero now working for the Curator, Book 5 is sure to be very interesting.

Thank you for a wonderful continuation of this saga.
I had read the first three books a while back. Newly discovered this book and it was like becoming reacquainted with an old friend.
Well written and a lot of contextual Galactic community.

Great book in the Extinction Wars series and I loved the ending. Lots of action and cool gadgets, while keeping you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. I can see how this would be the end of the Extinction Wars series but maybe there will be a spin off as Creed does his thing for the Curator? This series is great and I felt a great sense of closure as I read the end of the book.

It so refreshing to have an intelligent self reflective, NON-WHINING main character. Creed is tough no nonsense. I just like him. I also liked the narrative story telling style of writing. It works well. It's obvious, because he's telling you his story that things are gong to work out, but, this doesn't take away from the story, in my opinion anyway. Good read. Good story. Good writing. Way to go Hep!

Just the right amount of creepy aliens and heroes. The story is fast paced and suspense abounds. The characters are interesting and consistent throughout the four books. Skillfully described scenes take the reader inside the lead character's head to lend understanding of motives and plans without robbing the reader of results. I thoroughly enjoyed this series.

Commander Creed and friend have saved earth and humanity from extinction at the hands of the super fleet. Creed has retired from service and now has to repay a debt owed to the Curator. What will his next adventure be?

Creed experienced array of Aliens and technical wonders. He also. faced pure evil adversaries that would make ordinary people weak in the knees. Some parts of story line was mind bending and the space battles were epic.

Just when you think that our backs are against the wall, and there is no way Earth and the Human race can escape extinction, Creed manages to pull a solution together by the skin of his teeth.

I enjoyed this one so much, I'm going to re-read all the preceding books.

I can't wait for the next one.

The Extinction Wars is a non-stop roller coaster ride across the cosmos. It's reminiscent of some of the E. E. Doc Smith 'Lensmen' series that I read as a young man. It's very difficult to put down once you start reading, so get comfortable.

Well done and wraps the series up well while leaving new stories open for the future. Doesn't seem rushed or short-changed like many other books that try to wrap up series do. Has a nice pace and skips unneeded dialect where appropriate to keep you in the action.

Thoroughly enjoyed this next book in the series. Great story lines and surprises along the way. Anxiously waiting for next installment. I've read most of Heppner's book and love them. Great reads.

Very fast-paced action and very little downtime between scenes . There were minimal typos and punctuation errors etc. to distract you from the story . You won't be disappointed with the ending and the potential for the new beginning that the author provides. I look forward with hope to see new stories in this universe.

Creed and all his friends and enemies have gotten under my skin. Love the vast scope of the series, and want to learn more about the mysteries behind this broad imagining of galactic structure and history.
