Upon finishing "These Is My Words" I immediately ordered "Sarah's Quilt." This sequel about Sarah Agnes Prine is a true page turner and the reader's heart is captured through the last page. Nancy Turner immerses Sarah in some huge, gripping adventures and true-to-life personal challenges. I highly recommend this for anyone drawn to stories of the developing southwest, especially if you have roots there.

Life in the AZ territory is astonishingly difficult compared to us air conditioned, laid back lives, but it is also remarkably similar when comparing our human relationships with friends, family, and acquaintances.

There are three books in the series. My friends in book club and I could not put the books down until we had read all three. We all love Sarah Prine... The books took us right back into her day and time. I just cannot recommend them enough. You will not put them down until you've read all three and then you will be sad the adventure is over.
Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista :: Foreign Enemies And Traitors :: Ratchet Wives Club: Episode One :: The Connect's Wife 7 :: The Star Garden (Sarah Prine)

Truly enjoyed this book. Loved the homespun ideals of loyality, honor, courage, self reliance. So different from today's values. Sarah is a very real character in a very real story of America at it's best.

Loved the story line which reached back into the lives of ancestors from the 1800s. Excellent writer with imagination and the ability to hold the attention of the reader with story lines that take unpredictable twists and turns.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys genealogy and stories based in the 1800's.

Before commenting on the story, I have to say that the actual printed copy that I have is poorly produced. Many pages have the actual text printed as a tint instead of solid, which makes it difficult to read. Further, the page that holds pages 357-358 is inserted AFTER the page that holds pages 359-360. Bizarre.

Regarding the story, I LOVED These is My Words, and this sequel just didn't measure up. Although it's divided up as a diary, it doesn't have the same diary feel that the other did. I suppose if I hadn't read My Words first, I may not have been so hard on Sarah's Quilt.

This is an action packed and fact filled story of life on the Southern Arizona frontier. It's based on the life of an actual pioneering family. The writing is entertaining and insightful, and I can't doubt that things did happen as the author described. Very well researched.

Nancy Turner is becoming one of my favorite authors. Sarah's Quilt was a delight to read. The characters are so well developed and the story line is so engrossing that it is hard to put the book down.(my chores took a back seat to this story.)

Sarah's Quilt was an exciting read. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased it for a friend for her birthday.
We love this series. If you live in Arizona and enjoy a bit of history, you have to read this book to understand how life was one hundred years ago. It will surely make you appreciate all of today's modern conveniences. Love of family and personal responsibility are two important values in Sarah's life. She was an amazing woman.

The author's excellent research places the reader in Sarah Prine's shoes. The language, the setting, the character development are excellent. Saving her old fashion homilies is fun and apply oh, so much to today's living. The strong family ties are refreshing. A good read for all ages.

This engaging book continues the lively and eventful life story of Sarah Prine - someone I now feel that I know. Some sequels disappoint, but not this one. It was such a pleasure to find I didn't have to part with Sarah so soon after discovering her.

I really enjoyed the 3 book series. However, very tragic at times, the author really put Sarah through some tough times. The story had many twists and turns that kept me reading, and wondering about what would happen next. I enjoyed the details about fontier life. What a hard life to live.
