This book was recommended to me by a therapist and it is literally changing my life a little at a time. It is VERY user-friendly and can be used on its own or with a therapist. I've only had it for a month but the change in myself is evident daily. Do complete the worksheets - they are where the most useful changes occur.

Finally, something I could tangibly use for help in managing emotions and out of control thoughts. It's good at explaining why we allow feelings to get overwhelming and how to make that into a process where we think differently. My only negative comment is that it refers to completed worksheets and you have to keep flipping back and forth in the pages to look at the worksheets and read their explanations. It would be helpful if it was all on the same page and in order. Otherwise I think it's been a good tool, added to other things, to use to get a handle on the out of control thinking.

When in a desperate condition, this kind of methods are a try relief. The book not only explains the rationale behind the techniques but has a lot of easy-to-follow exercises to notice improvements immediately

I have decided to take control of my depression and maybe someday, make it a distant memory. This workbook is great in helping me do that! I am more aware of my thoughts now so I can change my mood patterns. I definitely recommend this book!

This book was recommended by my phychologist. He couldn't have been more right on. This is the first real help I have had in solving a lot of anxiety and stress in my life. It is so down to earth on what we know but what we so easily overlook in our fix for the human condition. The work pages allow you to really personalize the advice. I would buy it again and I would recommend to all who want to improve their life.

The book takes a no nonsense approach in teaching what causes negative emotions and how to look at a problem and figuring out the emotions that are causing the thoughts and feelings. It's a wonderful book to use along with therapy.

Great tool to deal both with conditions that severely impact one's life such as depression or anxiety, as well as to just think though about average mood states such as sadness or anger related to everyday living.

I purchased this book "Mind over Mood" for our daughter after having purchased it for myself some moths ago at a book store. I find it very informative ans the information relevant to my own behaviors. I was able to apply these new suggestions and I have become less stressed. My wife and I saw recommended it to our daughter and she agreed to check it out.....The book was delivered real quick ( couple days) and arrived w/o any damages, so perfect.

Bought this book for a family member because it was required reading by his therapist who is working with him on his anxiety disorder. I read it first to see if it was any good because I have a degree in psychology. This book is a very useful tool being not only informative, but also as a workbook. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to change their thoughts that create anxiety

This is unlike any other approach to therapy, and is amazingly effective in a short period of time. Spend a few extra bucks and get started with it using a therapist that has gone through it. I would not recommend just reading it, and trying the simple exercises, but there is some extra "magic" being guided by a real live person to answer your questions, and speed up the process.

The book is too long. You'll get most of what you need from the first few chapters.

The description of the book was accurate, the photograph, website presentation, and what arrived are the same-size, shape, color, and it matched my expectations. The product arrived on time, as described by the store & manufacturer, it was shipped without issue, arrived within prescribed estimates, the packaging was undamaged, and the product itself was unmolested and made with quality materials.

I have not completely finished reading the book, but so far, I think it would be useful for the student, beginner, and intermediate user. When I'm finished I'll update the review.

This book was very helpful. I still remember points the book made and I haven't read it in over a year. It takes a very analytic approach to helping alleviate strong emotions at the time, and to objectively keep track of your moods and the progress you are making.
You do have to fill out some paperwork though, but it's not too painful. I've been lucky enough to not really have a major depressive or anxiety attack, but if I start to I know one of the first things I will try are the methods in this book.

Cognitive Behavioral method. Too much emphasis on the individuals ability to change thinking. I use the book in sessions but point out that the person is changing their thinking by what they are doing.

Love this updated edition to a great CBT book. The research on CBT is robust, and this book makes it very accessible. It really helped me with anxiety and other issues, and I continue to refer back to this book once a year or so as a refresher on how to do CBT right.
