I loved this book very much! Sometimes there were a couple of repetitions however it was usually something said twice in different manners. I enjoyed the book and I love the television show. Give this book a read!

I love the National Geographic Wild show with Dr. Jan Pol, which made me want to read this book. It has been fun finding out his journey to get where he is today. It has been very easy to cruise along with him in this book. I have enjoyed this book very much.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. His life's work is fascinating. And the insight into his family life was also an added plus to the stories of his practice. Already on my list to read again because I love the way the whole story is told in his own way of speaking.

I rate this book 5 stars. The writing carries off Dr. Pol's voice perfectly, it feels like you're sitting there, listening to him in the living room. As a fan of the show, I loved reading more about his background and take on life. A perfect read for fans of the show, or anyone interested in becoming a vet. Definitely not for someone who expects a formal style of writing and is put off by a bit of rambling and skipping around. Will read it again for sure, perfect for a relaxing read any time.

As enchanting and informative as the show, with enough backstory to tie it all together. Well written, this book can make you laugh uproariously and then sob in the matter of a few pages. A critter lover's "must-have!"

Thoroughly enjoyed Dr Pol's tales of becoming a vet to an accomplished seasoned country veterinarian. When reading this book it was though dr pol was sitting next to me on a Sunday afternoon describing his veterinarian adventures. A must read for anyone who enjoys seeing Dr Jan Pol and there family on Nat Geo Wild. Thank you.

LOVED it.....Dr. Pol is every bit as interesting in the book as he is on screen. Whether you have a livestock background or just have a genuine love for all animals, you will enjoy this book. Great read for the whole family!

After watching the show regularly, I had to read the book about this interesting man. It was great to read more about the early life of a most entertaining man. Good luck to Dr. Pol, family and staff.

An enjoyable read for Dr. Pol fans. It reads like he is sitting telling you stories. Don't expect a Herriot-type novel, this is more conversational ramble. Still, some interesting anecdotes and family history.

I really enjoyed this book.. I do petsitting and used to work for a vet on large and small animals. It brought back some memories. Very interesting and informative as to what a country vet's life is really like!
