I love the Atlantis series! I was a bit worried that due to the nature of the nymphs I was not going to like this one, but was very pleasantly surprised. The herione was not falling over herself for the hero which was nice. Although I do think her self proclaiming "bi*^^hiness" was a bit over done. I was through with her ice woman persona about 50 pages into the book.

For some reason could not get into the storyline or the characters. Too much stuff happening all over the place with no real relation between any of it. The characters are unbelieveable and the situations were so forced. The concept could have been good but somehow got all lost and boring. Read all 4 books in this series only because I got them all at one time. Will not be reading anymore Showalter's stuff.

Ok..for all you 'Modern Women" out there..don't hate..it's a FANTASY book..not real life...so the women in this book that are ruled by their desire for good sex are not being demeaned..it's fantasy..one of mine actually!!
the story line is OK...but the dialog made me laugh a lot...just cuz...I am not going to throw spoilers in..but it is a great part of the series..love the premise. it is just a fun read...if you are looking for depth and some sort of hidden gem of truth or the meaning of life...try another genre...because most things are naked in this book...

It was just okay. It did not WOW me. Shaye/Moon was a little bit of an annoyance. She spent most of the book being angry and hating everyone. Valerian's ego over shadowed the entire story. It wasn't great or my favorite, but okay. Maybe if I read it again in a couple of months it may improve to 3.5 stars. I make no promises.

I bought this book at a used book store, and had never read any of Gena Schowalter's book previously. I had picked up for an airplane ride, and while it was great fluff reading as others have mentioned, it's short on plot but overall enjoyable and humorous!

This book was my first by Showalter and it is absolutely the sexiest book I have read. It is incredible. It has opened up a whole new genre of reading for me. It takes place in the lost city of Atlantis with many different kinds of species. Val and his men are looking for sex. Their female nymphs have disappeared and if they don't get any soon, they will weaken and die. So they go into the mortal world and kidnap women to fulfil their needs. This is the craziest storyline and pure fantasy, but I loved it. I had to purchase the rest of her atlantis books. I can't wait for the vampire king's story. YOU MUST READ THIS!!

I never get tired of her stuff.

Beautiful Shaye gets kidnapped by the king of nymphs, Valerian. She's cynical sassy and head-strong. He's gorgeous, arrogant, and confused.

He know's she's his life mate, she just wants to escape.

Unfortunetly, there's no way to leave Atlantis without help and survive.

Plenty of laughs, enough story that you don't feel guilty for enjoying the steamy sex scenes, and only one or two moments where you might want to cringe. It doesn't get much better than this. It even has a nice side story for another character, fleshing out the whole.

The third book in her Atlantis series. Gods I hope there's more to come.

Really enjoyed reading this one. It's a novel that can stand on it's own even though it's part of a series. I like the author's description of the main male character he's very alpha male! I like that her heroine has problems just like everyone else, you could identify with her struggles regarding her self esteem. I wanted a little more "heat" between the characters not so much lovey-dovey stuff.
I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for some light reading. This was easy to come back to when I hadn't been able to read for a couple of days. It also didn't hurt that the model on the cover could EASILY be the Nymph King.

This book was another example of writers trying way to hard. I think the author had a great core story but there were just too many side notes, from the heroine's personal problems to the dragons, vampires, Poseidon, and the nymphs ARRRRRRGGG!! Character overload. In fact some of the secondary characters were more interesting than the main 2. Borrow this one or make sure you have a discount when you buy it!

This is definately one of the more erotic fantasy romances I have ever had the pleasure of reading! Keep that in mind whne you go into the story, and you probably won't have a problem with the countless kidnapped woman begging the nymph men for sex. Remember it's fantasy fiction!! Some woman may have a strong will and be able to stand her own ground, but I can't say that I would be one of them... at least not in Gena Showalters sexy version of Atlantis!

If you liked this book, then you may want to check out: Sleeping with the Fishes by Mary Janice Davidson and The Warriors of Poseidon (Atlantis Rising) by Alyssa Day.Happy Reading!!

The premise of this book is good but it's not developed enough in my opinion. I LOVE a steamy romance as much as anyone else but there was just too much sex and not enough story in this book. And the story had real possibilities but it fell flat under the enormous amount of sexual content.

On the other hand - I liked this book FAR, FAR more than any of her other books. I'm hopeful that eventually Showalter will be able to better balance sex and storyline in the future because she has the potential to be GREAT!

I love reading Gena's books for two main reasons: 1) She is one of the most imaginative paranormal authors being published today. I'm always drawn into her worlds, and I adore the myths she creates. 2) Her books are hot. Very hot.

She doesn't disappoint in imagination or heat with this one. For a fun paranormal read, check out The Nymph King!

It takes a lot to get my heart racing, but this set me on fire! It was great! The hero was incredibly sexy and the heroine was one tough cookie. I loved the underwater world! When the two main characters interact it's sexy, humorous and intense. Gena Showalter gets 6 stars in my book!

This book is amazing! It will remain one of my all time favorites. Showalter is an outstanding author with a dynamic sense of creativity. Her characters leap off the page and into your heart. I cannot wait to read her newest novel!

I read one of her book about a girl given a potion that gave her powers of earth, wind, sky and water. It was well written and interesting so I gave her another shot with The Nymph King. I was very mistaken. In my opinion, it was not well written and stayed way way too long in the sex area. Too much is too much.

Short and sweet it starts off with her and her felling of not getting hurt by anyone. It takes forever for the book to get good say page 204,from there the story gets okay its still about her,all he wants is to get in her pants to feel good. If you want a good story with not alot of sh-t going on go to Elloras cave!!
