For a person that is coming into adult coloring this coloring book is absolutely amazing. I would recommend this company and this coloring book over and over again especially if you are a fan of Alice in Wonderland and want to get a darker version. I would not recommend this coloring book if you're buying for a child as there is blood and so on in the coloring book and it is on the creep your side that is not appropriate for children it is absolutely beautiful when you have the images colored yes there are a lot of black and grey and so on but you have to color over that and in the small areas for the picture to come out amazing

The artwork in this coloring book is incredible. It is sufficiently morbid and detailed, as the cover suggests. The only gripe I have with it is the overuse of solid black areas. Half the fun of coloring is deciding for yourself the light and dark areas, artistic interpretation. Allusion to shading via crosshatch patterns works very well, but solid black is just overkill.

There are plenty of mandala and tedious pattern based coloring books out there that require time more than vision. The reason I purchase books like what I believed this book would be is to shade and light the subjects as I desire.

Again, this book is full of gorgeous, morbid artwork, but it just decides too much for the user.

This is a well done book. The grey scale images get you pretty deep and moody results. Check out the pictures before you order to see if this is your cup of tea. The sheets are duel sided so you can't use colors that bleed through, but colored pencils seem to be ideal anyway.

Don't actually expect to color this . Half the pages are a new Alice story that doesn't make any sense (( not in a good way)) , and the color pages are so heavily shaded there isn't anything to color . It's sketches , not coloring pages . Big difference .

I bought this for an adult and she loves it. It's very detailed, and well drawn illustrations make it interesting for an adult to color it. Very worth the price and it made a wonderful gift. It's a little on the macabre side of Alice in Wonderland, but she loves that. It follows the movie with Johnny Depp rather than the classic fairy tale. The drawings are perfect for hours of coloring.

Wonderful book, but too much black shading already printed on many of the pages. I know it's a "dark" take on a colorful story, but there's so much shaded in that there's no room for imagination or personalization.

It is neat looking and the drawing style is interesting. I love Alice and I love creepy, this is really for someone who is into the lesser known aspects of the book. Normally not an issue, I was hoping for space to color and not black and white images that look like any color I might add would detract from the picture. Half of the pages are quotes. Very thin book.

This book is great. The drawings are darkly drawn but still room for coloring. Shading is already added to the drawings. The over all feeling in this book is dark. Great alternative to the original story. Gave 3 stars because the paper quality is poor. It is thinner than some printer paper. Also ink used will transfer to other page if coloring with mo barrier between pages. Good for colored pencils only. Gel pens and watercolor will go right through.

I'm very disappointed in this book. Not a coloring book at all. I guess if you want to add accent colors, fine. This is more of a black and white sketch book with very little coloring space. Sure, the pages are cool and the illustrations are very detailed, but not really color worrhy.
If I had seen some of the pages in the description I never would have purchase this book. Totally bummed.

I love the drawings in this book. Some pictures are just for looking at and reading, others you can color. It's more of a story book in my opinion. Either way, this is a really nice book and I am loving the eerie feel to it!

As stated by others, not really a book for those who want to color. Half the 46 pages are text, and the pages of art are so dark from shading that it's near impossible to "color". Very deceptive advertising probably trying to cash in on the renewed interest in coloring books lately.

While I do really like the pictures they're heavily shaded in grey and black and I wouldn't really call it a coloring book! I'm disappointed because I feel like trying to color any of these pictures would take away from what are some great black and white drawings of a darker Alice in Wonderland which I love!
Sadly, I was looking for a coloring book.....

I was very disappointed in this coloring. In theory, the concept is great. Everyone loves a Mad Alice; especially me. I was looking forward to the dark side of Wonderland. However, paper quality is poor; images are very dark (meaning in color) which doesn't leave much coloring room. I paid $14,95 for the book and I was expecting so much more. On one of the images, I just used colored pencils and when you look on the other side of the page, you can feel the imprint from my coloring...that's how thin the paper is. I must say that the illustrations are great.

There was maybe 3 pictures in the book that were great and worth coloring. The majority of the book was so dark colored that there was no point in even coloring it. I'm a huge alice fan and I'm beyond disappointed in this coloring book.

Beautifully done, not really a coloring book to be honest but you can color the shaded in pictures as it is labeled a coloring book. Its just more detailed than most books of its kind. But I love it! and the story is great to have along side it.

Bought this as a gift but when it came I wished I had bought one for myself as well. From the luxurious texture of the cover to the freakishly fantastic artwork inside, I was thrilled with the purchase. My friend enjoyed receiving as well! (I did actually give it to her!)

this is more of a black and white story book versus a coloring book. the illustrations are cool but the way the shading is done it makes it hard to color. there are words on one side and a picture on the other. it was also packaged poorly so it wont lay flat. returning.

The drawings were pretty but its very thin, I got for a gift since I though it had more pages and I was a little disappointing about that since in the photos it was an image that you can flip to back and it seem thicker than it was. I expected more for the price.

Here is the thing. The book is about $14. There is some pretty neat images but the images are so heavily shaded, there is not much to color. There is only a graphic around story parts on all left pages, so you only get to color "half". I had higher hopes. Way too expensive for such a minimal color experience.

The drawings are awesome! The only negative thing I have to say and the only reason why I give it one star is because of all the shadeing that was predrawn in the book.... To me it leaves no imagination to the drawing... And I for one love shading the most when it comes to coloringbooks... Awesome artistry though!

With the title I was expecting more from this book!! ? the artistry is great and all, it was a big letdown as I was going through the book and realized I can’t really color this book very well. To much is shaded in!! I will not be buying any more of these kind of coloring books again!!!!!!

This is honestly filled to the brim with gorgeous artwork to color in but most of the coloring has already been done in thanks to so much shading. In reality I hoped there would be more free space to color and shade yourself. With twisted images I hoped to be able to help set a mood myself.
Again, gorgeous art, but too much shading to fully enjoy coloring in at home.

I got to say I should have looked into this book more before I bought it. I don't see how you are able to color like more than 90% of the book. Most of it is drawn in black and colored I that way. So my excitement quickly turned to sadness. This would be an amazing coloring book but sadly it's not. .

I love this book. The existing shading doesn't detract from this in any way, it simply darkens the photos, adding a nightmarish feeling. It's exactly like the DC Comics that you can color now, shaded and crosshatched because that's how dimension is added. It's great, I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys coloring.

I love the darkness. Love the story that goes along with it. Great art. However I am pretty disappointed. The book is flimsy. The paper quality is worse than printer paper. And it's very thin. As you look thru the pages you can clearly see the image on the other side of the page. It's like that with every single page. I don't know if I may have got a rotten copy? Don't know but this makes me sad. I'm really worried about coloring this. I'm afraid my pencils might actually tear the paper. It's definitely going to show thru on the other side after I complete a page.

Edit: i colored a bit in this book and honestly do not waste your money on this. The paper quality is so awful that my pencils can't even lay down a decent color. It's as if I'm coloring on tracing paper. And my pencils color shows up on the opposite side.

My boyfriend got this for me as a gift because i love Alice in Wonderland and things that are a little darker. This is perfect! The illustrations are beautiful, dark and all things Alice.
The book is not huge like a lot of the other coloring books out there and the pages are a little thinner. I haven't tried marker yet but i would be careful and dont be surprised if it bleeds some.
The pictures are very darkly inked and so of course there is a lot of shading done already. I knew that already before buying it though so it didnt bug me. I think it just adds to the beauty of the book.
If you want something bright, cheery and simply drawn, then this isnt for you. I think this is a great product with gorgeous illustrations and a coloring book that i might actually finish.

I haven't bought the book yet, but it will be the first thing I buy as soon as I have a few extra dollars. This is to all the people who say it isn't a coloring book: Back in the early 90's before these coloring books existed, I used to go to the library and find pictures I'd like to color in art books and bring them home and then xerox them off. I found the ones that had shading to look the best when I got done coloring them. If you would give these pictures a chance, you might be surprised on how the shading enhances your work! These type of pictures usually do best with markers, though pencils work pretty good too.. What you need to do is color over the shading. Then you will have a really nice picture when you are done. This has been my experience. I will be buying this book when I get some money because it looks so different and out of the ordinary. I know how to use the shading to my advantage. How can you say it's not a coloring book if you didn't even give one picture a chance? Go make a copy of a picture and color it and then post your comments.

I was really excited to get this book. The drawings are great and the pen style they are drawn in makes it easy to color. The only problem I had was I felt it should of contained more pictures to color. For the price I paid and the style in which it is drawn there should of been at least 10 more pages. I have purchased $6 adult color books with 3 times as many pages to color. That is my only complaint with this book and why I gave it 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Got this book for my daughter for Christmas as she saw it online and fell in love with it's style. It was a HUGE hit this morning! The book is so awesome that she doesn't want to color in it. I believe she might keep it more as a collectible now and/or I'll order another one for her to color in.

The book is wonderful, dark, and has such intriguing artwork. The paper quality is high. I definitely recommend this one to fans. For me and my daughter, we are always ready to go back down the rabbit hole. What a neat book! Jonathan Green did an excellent job with this one.

I absolutely love this coloring book. The story that goes along with the pages are a bonus as well. It definitely has a very dark, mysterious side, so if your looking for that type of animation then this book is perfect for you. The only con about this coloring book is I didn't care for how thin the pages were. My markers did not bleed through and I usually use color pencils anyways but I would've preferred if the pages were just a bit thicker.

I absolutely Love Alice and anything Alice. This book is dark and twisted like me. It is shaded darker then typical coloring books, but with my pencils it works out perfectly. I have finished a few and plan on framing them and hanging them on my Alice Wall. I will post pictures later.

Wow. This book has amazing artwork in it. It's not like any other adult coloring book I've ever seen before. I love the writing that goes along with each page. The writing and illustration really represent the beautiful, dark world that is the nightmare in wonderland. I haven't even colored it yet because it's so beautiful and I don't wanna mess it up! My regular choice of colored pencils (crayola twistables), which normally work very well, seem to be too big and bright to use in this book. Instead, I purchased a new set of pencils with a finer tip which will hopefully work out better. Anxious and excited to get started on this book. Pages printed on excellent quality paper as well.

I wish I'd come here and looked at the reviews before I bought this. It is indeed nothing more than storybook, published in black and white. The ready shading may give depth to the image after its colored. I'll attempt to color in it; I already bought it.

I wasn't unhappy with it but I can't say as I was as impressed as I thought I would be. The art is beautiful to look at but with all the dark cross hatching I find that it will be hard to color without it looking odd.

Not knowing until after that this was associated with a full book, I was expecting this to be more like the American McGee's Alice.
Because I had not read the book beforehand it seemed wildly disjointed compared to the original Alice tales, but may be in context with the book from which it is actually.
