(Like Sisters Series Book 1) Chick Lit - Payback and a Bottle of Merlot

The main character does not have any admirable traits and a very wishy-washy way of conducting herself. The whole premise of revenge and how the character goes about it is ridiculous. The fact that she doesn't have a single one of her friends telling her she's acting crazy and she just needs to tell her husband to take a hike seems equally improbable. I guess if I were able to completely suspend belief and go along with the wild, outlandish scheming, I could tolerate the story line, but the guy she ultimately chooses is such a doormat for her all the years they've supposedly been "best" friends, that the ending is equally dissatisfying! Not worth the time!

Heartwarming and such a reminder of how girlfriends are always there for each other no matter what unputdownable book:) every woman who has lived thru extra marital affair would enjoy reading this book and the lightheartedness the author brings to light alongside the tears

What a feel good chick lit, the sisterhood that these women feel towards each other is amazing. Join Mia,Sasha, Victoria(Vic),Tina and Karen. When woman get together it's is to settle score and empower each other needles to say I loved everything about this book! Mia was married to a scoundrel and she settles the score in a big way! Sasha was clueless about life and love and was a victim of circumstances and Karen,first to experience the horses-ass! The girls are totally unlikely but that is what makes this book unique! Makes you feel like a woman. I will read this he entire series! 5 stars, the storyline is outstanding! And the characters are uplifting and fascinating. There is love after heartache...

I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline, and plot, of this book. I fell in love with all of the characters, including the antagonist. I read it in record time, because I was racing to see how it would end. I would give it 5 stars were it not for the fact that I found the text to be somewhat stilted, i.e., most of the time I felt like I was reading a script for Dragnet's Sgt. Friday. Also, I found a few grammatical errors. Despite all that, I can truly say that I got a kick out of reading this book!

I loved how these five gloriously independent women gathered their various talents and strengths to finally achieve vengeance against the scum_bucket husband of one of their dear friends, in an attempt to get even for many women being misused and triffled with by the cad. They were kicking butt and naming names. Mia was too good for him, and I' m glad she took back her life, showed his coworkers what kind of person he really was, then kicked him to the curb! He didn't appreciate or respect what good women that he had, and that he couldn't go around using women to advance his ego and his career. He was insensitive, self-absorbed, and conceited. I loved this book, and highly recommend it to anyone who has ever been mistreated! Women can be empowered if they believe in themselves. Thanks Bria Marche!
