Funny, intelligent writing with lots of insights. If you like The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion then you will love this younger version. I would definitely recommend this book and it's free! Even so, I wouldn't mind paying.

Big Bang theory storyline from girl perspective. Delightful characters, not totally believable but nice escape. Frustrated by only one characters story told and have to go to next short story to learn about others.

I've never read anything quite so uniquely perfect about two imperfect people. The author captured a side of humanity that isn't shown often enough. I will continue reading the rest of the series, I suggest you do the same.

What an unexpected pleasure this little book turned out to be. It was on sale so I picked it up, the plot sounded interesting. And it was delightful. I loved every page. It was the perfect length. I rather a book be shorter and full, than long and a few hundred pages too many. If you like smart quirky heroines and hunky leading men, then you will really enjoy this book.

Beautifully written. The characters leap off the page. This fledgling romance not only sets a few stereo-types on their head , it does it by being whimsical and endearing.
I'm looking forward to the next in the series.

When genius but socially stunted Lucy needs to learn about relationships in order to keep her grant she turns to Jensen, her handsome neighbor for help. Learning about friendship along the way, Lucy learns a lot about life and possibly love.

I enjoyed this book even though it stretched the limits of credibility a bit, but I didn't really care because it's a fun romance. The main character, Lucy is a genius who is completely ignorant about human feelings, and who meets cute neighbor, Jensen, and tests her theories about human emotions on him. A quick and entertaining story. I enjoyed it.

Imperfect Chemistry is a fresh, lightweight read that will leave you smiling. Lucy’s moments of naiveté and cringe worthy honesty make her all the more charming as she learns how to think outside the logic of science in order to study emotions. Throw in some fun side characters and a handsome, heartbroken boy next door, and it’s the perfect balance of romance and humor.

I'm surprised how easy emotionless Lucy translated seamlessly into the story. She was clear to understand and yet refreshingly unexpected. I'm glad the book had a happy ending and for once the nerd wins the stud without changing herself

This book, Imperfect Chemistry is absolutely one of a kind. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and will recommend it to anyone looking for endless laughter. I laughed so hard at this, out loud, that any surrounding person that happened to be near me would look at me with annoyance or be creeped out.

Lucy started college when she was only 13 - seven years ago. Now she's working on a project and trying to learn about how emotions work. Not easy when you don't have a clue about your own! With her first real friend Freya, and the hunky guy next door, Jensen, Lucy learns more than she ever would have guessed.

I just happened to stumble onto this and was very happily surprised! This was so good! The characters were funny, interesting, and unique. The story flowed smoothly. I devoured it in half a day! Highly recommend!

I stumbled on Imperfect Chemistry while was looking for a fun offbeat romance along the lines of Neanderthal Seeks Human and - despite being a bit 'younger' this delivered pretty much everything I was looking for.

The leading lady, Lucy, is is pretty cerebral - a former child genius who is still in the university environment and struggling to come up with a thesis to go with a grant she won. But even with her smarts, since her thesis requires something connected to love, lust and related emotional topics - which are out of her Spocklike logic purview - Lucy's gonna need some help. And that help comes initially from an acquaintance, Freya, who ends up as Lucy's first friend, and then more importantly from her neighbor, Jensen, who she convinces to help her learn about the emotional components of male/female interactions.

Lucy's interactions with Freya and Jensen are fun and sometimes funny because she is so straight forward and so socially clueless. But somehow Lucy still manages to make the emotional connections - that she never thought that she wanted - with them. I liked the romance that develops between her and Jensen, because there's a nice initial attraction between them, but they back off and become friends first. Also fun was Lucy's family - the fact that there were all these great relationships around Lucy was just what I was looking for -and helped me to overlook the less than legal escapades late in the story.

So I really enjoyed Imperfect Chemistry -despite not being overly fond of NA/YA in general - and I will likely read the second book that has Freya (and the guy she hired to beat up her awful ex) in the lead.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It is sweet, funny, and full of romance. I love Jensen, the male main character. Lucy was socially awkward but not ridiculously stereotypically shy, which I loved. The supporting cast was as developed as it needs to be. I will definitely be reading more in this series.

I can't get over how insightful and interesting this book was. I am quite the reader and found myself completely sucked into this story. I read it in less than 3 hours and wished it wasn't over yet. The characters weren't relatable in the stereotypical sense but I found myself wanting to join in on drunken Jenga and wanting to pick Lucy's brain. I would love to see another book featuring Lucy as the main character and furthering her study and relationship. I am sincerely impressed with Mary Frame's writing and will be purchasing the 2nd book in this series.

Lucy London puts the word genius to shame.
Having obtained her PhD in microbiology by the age of twenty, she's amassed a wealth of knowledge, but one subject still eludes her-people.
The pendulum of passions experienced by those around her both confuses and intrigues her, so when she's offered a grant to study emotion as a pathogen, she jumps on the opportunity.
When her attempts to come up with an actual experiment quickly drop from lackluster to nonexistent, she's given a choice: figure out how to conduct a groundbreaking study on passion, or lose both the grant and her position at the university.
Put on leave until she can crack the perfect proposal, she finds there's only one way she can study emotions-by experiencing them herself.
Enter Jensen Walker, Lucy's neighbor and the one person on the planet she finds strangely and maddeningly appealing.
Jensen's life is the stuff of campus legend, messy, emotional, complicated-in short, the perfect starting point for Lucy's study. When her tenaciousness wears him down and he consents to help her, sparks fly.
To her surprise, Lucy finds herself battling with her own emotions, as foreign as they are intense. With the clock ticking on her deadline, Lucy must decide what's more important: analyzing her passions...or giving in to them?

My Review

This was such a fun read!
I really enjoyed the writing, characters and the story-line.
Lucy was an amazing character. I loved her honesty, straightforwardness, insatiable quest to understand things, and her reactions when she realized she has feelings for Jensen...and her shock when she loses control with him.

Jensen was just perfect for Lucy.
I loved that he accepted her for who she was, and didn't try to change her into someone she wasn't. If anything, she quirkiness and honesty turned him on.

The secondary characters, in particular Lucy's 4 older brothers were great. I liked their protectiveness, the pranks they played on each other, and how involved they were in Lucy's life.

This was a wonderful read, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I genuinely loved all the characters, they were a breathbof fresh air. No insta love, no moody bad boy, no mousy good girl with a dark past...yet exceedingly enjoyable new adult college romance read.

Lucy is a very intellectual (think Sheldon of Big Bang Theory). She knows how everything works on paper and in formulas but is clueless on the way emotions work. She stumbles along and ends up making some really close emotional attachments and has a great time figuring out how relationships work.

A quirky and intelligent new adult story. Its heroine, Lucy, has one of the most original voices I've read in a long time. The characters were well-developed and likable (I'm looking forward to reading more about Freya) and the story moved at a satisfying but not predictable pace.

Ten kinds of fun, I'm so glad I picked this one up!

I really enjoyed this book. The first person is very intelligent and prides herself on her logic. But then she gets a grant to study emotions, and she doesn't know how to proceed. I liked it because I like romantic comedies; I related to the protagonist and it was a light, amusing book to read.

This story was different and cute. The main female character remained me of Bones, the tv show although it was not anything but a romantic novel. It was a refreshing and unique quick read perfect for a summer vacation.

I love a good romance with an intelligent woman struggling to figure out her feelings. Whenever the line between cheesy romance is bypassed I love the book. Imperfect Chemistry kept me giggling as I followed along as the characters developed and came together in a memorable love story.

This is my first book by this author and definitely not my last. She did a fantastic job of keeping true to the nerd (read female Sheldon Cooper of Big Bang Theory) girl who can't help but voice her logical thoughts over being tactful. I also liked the introduction of the friends she makes. A lastly, I really enjoyed reading about her prank playing family - very cute and endearing.

Reason for just 3 1/2 stars: ehh, the hero. I never felt his personality. He felt very much of a side character who just reacted rather than initiated action. He felt very bland to me and thus not interesting. I found it very unbelievable that he had been a virgin at 21 and supposedly being so hot that all the girls on campus were drooling for him.

Despite the hero feeling lackluster and unbelievable, there's enough good about this book that makes we want to read more from this author.

I enjoyed the reading this book. The friendship between Lucy and Freya was unexpected. Lucy has never develop a relationship with friends and in this book we follow her. At times I laughed , and I shook my head , .

This was such an interesting and different twist to romance. Lucy is so awkward but so lovable at the same time. Jensen is so sweet and swoon worthy. The two have an amazing chemistry that makes your belly flip and fill with butterflies. I loved this sweet story .
