This book was inspirational from start to end. Living up to her muppet nickname, Chrissie Wellington shows how mind overcomes matter with the most amazing outcomes. The determination and sheer bull-headedness has taken her to the top of her game. She has given me the courage to live life a little more and to hold back a lot less.

To those in the triathlon world, Chrissie Wellington is a goddess. This book sets out the groundwork, physical and mental, that provided the base for her seemingly meteoric rise to the very top of the sport. It shows what an incredible person she is outside triathlon. A must read and reread.

I always thought Chrissie Wellington was an amazing athlete but after reading this book I realized she was also just an incredible person too. She is adventurous and extremely hard worker in everything she does. She cares about the sport of triathlon and is a great ambassador for the sport. I just want her to come back. :)

Definitely worth the read for any athlete (or anyone really; her thirst for success was not only in athletics!). Chrissie's determination and consistent positivity is astonishing; we could probably all take a few pages from her book!

This really falls pretty flat. The first part of the book where she describes her life before triathlon is pretty tedious. I think we've all heard the basic story many times so it's up to the author to make it interesting via writing skill and that is where it falls short. It's just flat/average.
My framework are the books "Finding Ultra" and "Eat and Run" which are both 5 star works, inspirational and written well.

Chrissie Wellington is the definition of a champion. Learning about her life and how she got to where she is today is inspirational. Truly one of the best books out there on Ironman and what it means.

Inspiring and well illustrated book about struggles and successes. Both have their place in athletics and this narrative does an excellent job of showing how the two connect. Great read for a great price!

I've read many books by runners, triathletes and other sports people, and often think that perhaps they would have been better to get someone else to write their stories, but this is very different. It is so well written. Chrissie shares some of her early life stories and is very honest about some of the body issues she faced and she also shows us how much training she has had to do to get to the top and it's all done in a really easy to read manner. I couldn't put the book down. Great read.

Amazing book, give me so much inspiration, this girl is a simple person like all of us looking for herself and never give up, never stop fighting. In the journey of life just do what you wanna do but always keep moving.

Read this book while preparing for an Ironman and it certainly echoed in my mind in early morning, tough sessions and the race itself! Maybe it starts a bit slow, but from a certain point I couldn't get it out of my hand.

This is such an empowering story. You read about so many athletes that are so full of themselves, but Chrissie paints this picture of her life that is honest, and very inspirational. Any triathlete should and needs to read this book!

Chrissie does a marvelous job at taking us with her as she journeys from a Norfolk girl to unexpected world champion. A refreshing look into an athlete of that caliber racing with pure motives. Great read.

A great story from a legendary athlete. I met Chrissie at Kansas 70.3 back in June 2011. It was such an honor receiving my finisher medal from her. Afterwards I managed to embarrass myself as I tend to do by throwing my starstruck self at her and begging for a picture that I treasure to this day. I can only imagine what she thought of this crazy girl. I couldn't help myself though. She's one of my hero's! I heard she ran another 10-12 miles for training after winning her race and before I had even finished mine... now that's dedication! I'm sad to see her retire from the sport and have many questions as to why, but this is life and we only get one so I'm glad she's living it.
