succinct and wise description of basic investing wisdom that I wish I had ready many years ago. Well written and useful for novices and older investors too. what is sensible rather than what the industry wants to sell.

It's so compelling, easy-to-read, and confirming/reaffirming (what others—Swedroe, Ferri, Bogle, Solin, Larimore, Stein—espouse) that I delayed using a highlighter for salient points until my second reading.

I've recommend it to friends and family. Avoids get rich quick hype and covers the basics quickly. I agree with comments that it could have been shorter, but I find that to be true with most books in the genre. On the positive side, it is better written than most books in the space, is already fairly short and can be digested easily.

The Elements of Investing is a great investing resource for novice and expert investors. I found this book to be very easy and interesting to read and understand relative to most personal finance and investing books. The arguments and insights for index investing are logical and sound. I highly recommend this book and plan to read it again.
