I literally cannot put down any books written by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Her characters have heart and personality, the dialogue is always witty and well written. I've read this book before and I still pick it up again and again to re-read. I think Breathing Room is her best book, but Had to be You is a chart-topper, too! You won't be sorry if you buy this book.

Sports themed romances are not usually a favorite of mine, but this was recommended to me a number of times so I thought I would give it a try. I really enjoyed it, the story and the characters and would definitely recommend it.

usually I don't read love stories but Susan Philips does a great job of pulling me in with out too many steamy love sciences, which is why I don't read romance books!! Phobie, is a great character they all are. Over all I would definitely recommend this book and Match Me If You Can, LOVED that one.
It Had to Be You (Weddings by Bella, Book 3) :: The True Story of Three Girls Violated and Betrayed by Those They Trusted :: Keys to Achieving Personal and Corporate Destiny - The Principles and Power of Vision :: Keys to Achieving Personal and Corporate Destiny (Study Guide) :: It Had to Be You (Christiansen Family)

Susan Elizabeth Phillips does it again! I read this book a few years ago, but purchased it now so I can reread as often as I'd like. If you're not one of her fans, you will be after reading this book. Awesome story line, characters, believability, and humor.

From a guy's perspective this book was fast paced and kinda sensual.... I don't know.... you may get turned on reading this book gentlemen... I would keep a change of pants nearby. the characters develop fast and you don't have time to absorb all the info in all at once.... it is kinda absorbent... kinda like a giant tampax I don't know how to describe it lol... I got this for someone else then I kinda decided to read it for myself..... I know it's wont be at the top of the New York times best seller list for men anytime soon but oh well... I would say definitely not a family hour happy times book when it's time to tuck the kids in lol.... enjoy it..... salivate through it.... again and again lol.. Phoebe Somerville is an interesting character who decides what tough life choices to make.... all we are gonna say ... shhh shh :)

The character of Phoebe is very well-realized, and this novel leads effortlessly into a series that we hope goes on forever. The combination of vulnerability and resilience, a hallmark of SEP heroines, is embodied in the central character here. People who are funny, quirky, self-aware, well-grounded, enjoyable to be around: these comprise the Chicago Stars cosmos.

The premise of this book sounded interesting. It isn't.
Perhaps it doesn't hold up because it's 20+ years old. But that might not even be the excuse. I'm not sure it was an entertaining tale even then.
The heroine is vacuous. The hero is a jerk. And there's nothing really here to hold any of it's damaged parts together.
My recommendation, move along. Find something else.

Susaan Elizabeth Phillips is one of my favorite writers. She makes her characters come to life and makes you root for their happiness. Her heroes and heroines are never perfect people which makes you love them more. This series is full of humor, interesting twists, and continuing characters. Humor, love. a little intrigue and a happy ending is what I like in a romance novel.

This is one of my all-time favorite books. Classic romance, fun, funny, heart-warming and a book I happily fall into time and again. When I saw it on sale for Kindle I grabbed an ecopy. Its not as dog eared as my paper copy but Im sure it will be.

This book is just great! I love the Chicago Stars Series! You don't have to read them in order though! I actually started with Natural Born Charmer which is also fantastic!! I highly recommend any of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' books!!

I discoved SEP through [...] and have really enjoyed listening and reading her books. I'm not a "romance" reader, but lately I just wanted some escapism and she's a smart writer and the banter is really good and sometimes laugh out loud funny. Check out her lastest books for some really fun reads.
