If you like Nick Offerman's characters, especially Ron Swanson, you will love the book! He is a genuine midwesterner at heart, dedicated to his craft(s), with a great and lively story to tell! Will read more of his material.

I liked the early chapters a lot; Nick's humorous take on life. The middle drags a bit as he recounts his growth in the theater business and start in Hollywood but it's integral to the story and some might find it really interesting. Overall an enjoyable read.

Funny book. Offerman's attempt to distance himself from the myth of Ron Swanson, Please Dont Worship Me would be a suiting title as well. The story of a normal dude who did abnormal things in life. Good read.

An absolutely wonderful read of a book. The syncopated style in the the writing makes it perfect for picking up, reading a bit, and coming back to it (the though it is hard to put down). It engages you instantly.

This was a great summer read. Nick Offerman takes you through his humble beginnings to his not so traditional hollywood lifestyle with honest and hilarious stories along the way. To the hardcore right wing Christians bashing this book: why? He bluntly says in the book that he grew up Catholic and appreciates all religions. If you couldn't get past his stories from church and his ideas on the bible you seriously missed out. The writing is a little raunchy but extremely funny. The message he communicates is great basically telling mankind to be work hard, have fun, be patient, and enjoy life. Give it a read, you'll either love it or get offended and write a nasty review.

Fun read for fans of Ron Swanson...er...Nick Offerman. Great general autobiography with excellent side stories. Found myself wishing he would elaborate more on woodworking and parks and recs but it is his story.

It's a good book with some mildly comedic references that outlines his journey to discovering what he wanted to be in life. It's obviously not designed to make you laugh your rear off. Very opinionated and persuasive on some issues, kind of contradicts the premise about forging your own path. In a general sense, I think it could be a lot better if he does a second edition down the road, just because he's a very thoughtful, well-spoken and capable writer.

Would definitely recommend as a great read, and most importantly easy and entertaining.
