"The book came out! Yay!" That was my first thought the morning I bought this book. Unfortunately, I didn't get my money's worth. The new strips were great, but 60% of them were already printed in other books. I knew them like the back of my hand! The other 40% was funny, but I would like it to be more new, less old. Even so, the new strips were HILARIOUS! I expected the rest of the book to be the same, but no. So if you haven't bought Big Nate and Friends, Big Nate gets the Grade, Big Nate Genius Mode, and most of the others, you will like this book. If you DO have the others, I don't recommend this one. You will find yourself skimming through the pages, waiting for a strip you haven't seen before. Mr. Pierce, for your next book, do it a bit newer, please!

This person that wrote the first review of this book is totally off topic. I have read almost read every single Big Nate book and I didn't even recognize one single strip of comic. This was an original and an original to remember.

I wished Scholastic had not added this book their offerings at my 7 year old son's elementary school book fair! As the other critical reviewers have noted, this is entirely inappropriate for elementary school kids. At best, the jokes will go over their heads! At worst, they won't and our sons will pick up on how funny and cool the sexualization of women is. As an adult without kids, I thought it was really funny. But as a parent I say it gives kids, especially young ones the wrong idea. I've included some of my own photos of the pages I found especially inappropriate for elementary aged kids. I can see this being funny for maybe high school boys who already know all its innuendos and are not learning something "new" from it.

This book is better because, Basically all the "Big Nate" has some rude thing in it. So far, in this book it doesn't have it. You might have your other opinion. Mine is this is the best. I'm dying to read the next "Big Nate" book.

BIG NATE GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE is the latest collection of "Big Nate" comic strips. However, unlike collections of comic strips for of other comics, there's really no particular order for the strips in BIG NATE GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE: they aren't around a particular theme or topic or season of the year or storyline. They are just a hodgepodge of various "Big Nate" strips. Also, most of these "Big Nate" strips have appeared before in previous collections. Therefore, if you are a collector of "Big Nate" strips, you might want to skip over GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE because you probably own most of the strips in this book in previous collections. However, if you are new to "Big Nate", then GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE makes a pretty good introduction and primer to the world of Big Nate. The book includes a pull-out poster of the book's front cover.

The Big Nate books are great. Appropriate for all kids from around 9 years old up to around 12-13. Very clever and thoughtful. If you like Big Nate, also consider the Calvin and Hobbes books. A little older, but still a classic.

Is this what little kids should be reading? With words like cleavageness, and some kind of a dirty magazine, you can slap some pornographic images in some paper and call it a kids book! You can call this book funny, but this portrayal of women is a bit too much. I'd suggest this book's humor for young teens and up!
