My first try at a Steampunk based novel. Well written and very entertaining. The characters are engrossing and keep your interest in the quick moving story. I think I will check out a few more of these type books.

I enjoyed this book. It was very "riveting" even more so the fact that the main character being a young female who is having a struggling, trying to figure out what she is good at in life and among a very eccentric crew. I will say it is a very good book for sci fi lovers of all ages

A well written tale of a daughters love, an artist finding her muse in an unexpected mecium, and a uncharacteristic family. This is the first step in an intricate and original series. If you loved this, you should continue on with the series and all of Lallo's books.

I loved this story. I never paid much attention to the steampunk thing. Now I can't wait to read book 2. What a pleasant surprise. I have already recommended it to a few folks who question my sanity. Steampunk? Yeah! It's fun.

Desperate for a medicine to treat her mothers soon fatal Illness our hero ends up a crew member on a bizarre airship with an equally strange crew. Their confrontations with alien pirates are fantastic and their survival at great risk with highly threatening pursuers.

Many years ago I heard about the concept of steam punk and thought that sounds great and looked forward to such books. Ninety percent of the time I have been sadly disappointed. Most of the time steam punk has seemed to be gloomy junk with no sign of hope. Not this time, this book was great. Young Nita a mechanical genius from a family of artists sets off on an adventure to get the medicine to save her mother/ This book is not high literature but it is rollicking good fun.

Fun book. Likeable characters with an interesting storyline. Fast paced steampunk adventure story. Not a romance novel, which tend to dominate this genre. Well worth the time. Looking forward to reading the sequel.

Well written story with believable characters and an excellent setting! You will be drawn right in and the action just gets better and better. I got this book free, but I suspect I will be buying more from this talented author

This was my first steampunk book, and to be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was, however, VERY pleasantly surprised! I enjoyed each of the characters, which is unusual (even the bad guys!) All of them were very strong, the plot totally believable (which certainly cannot be said for many of the books I've read from indie authors,) and Mr Lallo's descriptions really pull you into the story. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long time, and I am excited to read the sequel, Skykeep.

Too many unanswered questions which I suppose will be answered in the next volume or twenty. Beats me how a whole world would go begging to a bunch of extortionists for their trinkets. A criminal people who can't feed themselves (a fact they don't seem to hide) hold the rest of the world enthralled when any sane man would think it would be the other way around.

Finally an enjoyably written steampunk novel, lacking all the usual idiocy, bad clichés and pointless, boring story elements that so often burden recent pieces of the genre. I was happy to read this one. Will buy the sequels for sure. Please keep them coming :)
