This is the second time I am reading this series! And I am grateful all the books in this series are out! Crime Lord's Captive, Crime Lord's. Series book 1, is just the beginning! This rollercoaster is one where you don't know whether to hold on for dear life or put your hands in the air and enjoy the crazy, heart-pounding adrenaline rush the Crime Lord' s series takes you on. Lyla and Gavin's story is incredible, heart-wrenching, spectacularly action-packed, and hot as all hades! If you are impatient as I am you will have to read the books straight through twice to make sure you don't miss a thing! I haven't read a series that was this much of a wild ride in a long time! Don't miss out on Mia Knight's world and the story of Gavin and Lyla. Mia Knight does not disappoint! This is a thrilling book, in a thrilling series, that will have you on edge until the end! And remember this is just the beginning!

Loved this book. The chemistry and tension between the characters was great. The storyline was well developed and it's a great start to the series. The two main characters are Lyla and Gavin. He's a ruthless, possessive, crime lord who is determined to win back the affection of Lyla at all costs. This includes kidnapping her and essentially holding her captive. Lyla struggles with how to forgive Gavin for his previous mistakes, along with his current irrational behaviors, while accepting her own feelings about their relationship. A lot of great sexual tension that continues to build throughout the book. Woven throughout are great secondary characters and a mystery story as well. The ending is left open but that's why you have books 2 and 3 to follow. :)

OMG!!!!!!!!! This book was awesome! So it was not dull at any moment. Gavin is .....well......ugggh I can not explain it. I'm totally digging him SMDH. He grows on you but then he acts insufferable so you're like leave him Lyla. This book is just crazy and I definitely will be reading the next.

Regrettably, this second book couldn't hold on to (believable) tension after the first few chapters and provided nothing new. The romance snuffed out and died to one-dimensional predictability, and not enough suspense to keep me enthralled.

Enjoyed reading about Gavin and Lyla. Loved the characters in the book. I was sorry when some characters ended up dead. I can't imagine living the kind of life that being a part of a crime family entails. Lyla and Gavin love each other but she can't live with the death and crime. I hope part 2 has a happy ending.

I have many mixed feelings about his book. Written in third person was hard to follow. I didn't agree on many of Layla's way. I had a hard time but i also kind of enjoyed the story y itself, and this is the easiest way to describe it.
Reading the next book now!

A very enjoyable read. It was very violent and gutsy. The lovers had a very rocky road. The story had me on the edge of my seat a few times, it was engrossing. You never knew what was coming next. I can't wait to read the next book.

I was looking for something new to read and someone posted about this book recommending it. And I am SOOO glad they did. Book hooks you right from the start and keeps you on the edge page after page to see how this couple will end up. Very first book from this author and I am definitely a fan!! Well done Ms.Knight and I can NOT wait for the next book in this series!!

The storyline was interesting and has the makings of a great book. If not for the completely annoy waste of a character Lyla. She was the worst and Gavin was no better. All the characters in this story with the exception of manny were horrible written.

Wow… what a fantastic way to start a series. This is one heck of a dark and steamy book!! Once you start reading, you will NOT be able to put it down!! This is my first time reading this author. But definitely won’t be my last. I’m seriously hooked…I can’t wait wait to see what’s next in book two.
Gavin is your typical alpha male… he is dark, mysterious, sexy, and oh so bossy! He is one who stops at nothing , to get what he wants… even Lyla.
Lyla has created a new life for herself. Three years ago, she escaped her ex. But what happens when her past and present collide ? Sometimes, the past is too difficult to escape. Especially, if it’s someone .. who has no intention of giving you up!!
This book is great!! So captivating.. well written, with an intriguing plot, that will keep you engaged from beginning to end !! The characters are fantastic, so dark and deep, with a complexity that will keep you turning the pages!! Great job , Mia!! I can’t wait for the second book!!

I almost didn't read this book because I read the reviews and they all said the hero cheats. I despise cheaters in books and don't usually read them. I'm glad I gave it a chance. Wow. What a great book. I kinda wish we would have got gavins POV maybe during the time that layla left him. By the end of book three you basically forget about the cheating cause so many other things happen. Gavin is dark possessive alpha. He does redeem himself by the end of the series. I loved lyla. One of the best heroines I've read in a long time. Side characters were OK. I felt sorry for lyla. All her friends and family were trying to push her back with gavin. Even Carmon (lylas loveable cousin who I really liked) seemed to think that lyla should forgive him because he must truly loved her since he searched three years for her. Ugh! True love is not your man have a orgy with four other women. Yuck! Gavin seemed to think that would lyla did was worse because while being apart she moved on and fell in love with another man. His logic is that even though he messed around with dozens of women he never loved them and didn't even care if they got off, and he was gonna stop and change but it was too late cause the damage had been done when lyla caught him but she took off before he could prove it to her. I also want to warn you that Gavin is a murderer . That's another reason lyla left. This book end with a cliffhanger. Still a very good series and I look forward to reading more from this author.
