I usually rate things higher; not really a middle of the road kind of person. And giving it a "it's okay" rating is simply because of my personal preferences in a Daily Reflection book. I loved the original book! Read it like 3 times! I was hoping this would go deeper into the spiritual side of what was behind all of this.

The book looks really nice on my coffee table! It's laid out nicely too.

I was wondering how this kind of book could be written,
I have read the Shack, on of my most favorite books,
These reflections bring it home to me,
I would absolutely recommend this book,

This was the most interesting and thought provoking book I have ever read. In fact, I have read it and reread it and plan to read it again. It was so engrossing that I read the entire book in one day and night!!!

I read THE SHACK at least 4 times and each time I came away with newer appreciation and approaches to everyday life. This booklet is a wonderful way to keep these ideas new and alive each day. There is a brief quote from the book and then a thought on how to implement it in your own life. I liked the clean and fresh approach that Wm. Paul Young uses. I am happy that I purchased this book and would recommend it highly to anyone who wants to grow more deeply as a unique and healthier person!

Many people believe they are doing God's will and acting as God would have them act. In the book The Shack, I found I had many ways to improve/reinvent my way of thinking and thus my way of life. This book gives me a daily aid to trying to achieve being the best person I want to be.

This book has met with some controversy, but "The Shack" does an amazing job of filling in some of our more habitual views of the divine with some very inspiring and thought-provoking details. Written as a novel, yet permeated with the fragrance of eternal truth, Young uses every healthy parents' nightmare as the work space for hashing out the practical pursuit of knowing God. He steps on toes as he dances with the reader in an intimate reveal of just who God is and how we relate to him. If you read this to create your theology, you will have missed the point; but if you will give yourself the freedom to enjoy the nuances, you may very well come out on the other side loving the Father just that much more.

I've only had the book a few days, so not very far into it. I like reflections and devotions, so it will no doubt, be a good book, since Wm.Paul Young is an excellant writer. However, after i purchased "The Shack Revisited", I found the only good part of the book was "The Foreword" written by Mr. Young. He would have told us in a much better way about the Trinity and the love that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit have for us.

Each morning, it is more than a pleasure to add this to my days devo's. It makes me to remember just how much my fleshly heart longs for my Heavenly Father, and my Beloved. Spirit circles and touches me each day ... before I start my day. Each little nugget is precious and human... makes me to open my heart and hands and drop right into His loving arms and long to find His good and perfect Will for my life.

Puts a new spin on communicating with God. if you have every wanted a no frills look at your relationship with Him then this is the book. I recommend talking to your home priest or minister before buying and getting their take on the book but I was captured by the message and by the philosophies that Young puts out there, I can see how this book in anyway cast a negative look at any religion or person of faith. it is what it is, a conversation with Him.

I was expecting the original book written, not daily reflections. Very disappointing. I guess I did not read it correctly. Any chance of exchanging for the book? For at least one purchased, if not two.
Thanks.

I purchased this book for a friend who is dying and wanted a copy of the book "The Shack". My understanding when ordering the book was that it was "The Shack". But it was not. It was, instead 'Reflections' of The Shack. It did not serve my purpose when purchasing, , nor was my friend satisfied with it. (Note: I had the book mailed directly to him - I never saw it.). I'm not sure if I misread the advertisement for the book, or if a substitute was made. But either way, "No", I'm not satisfied with the purchase.

It's amazing that this author had such difficulty getting this book published. Thankfully, Wm. Paul Young persevered as this is not only an entertaining and suspenseful read, but it is a real tool for portraying divine forgiveness to a broken world. Forgiveness heals and reading this book is a journey through the pain of an unbearably tragic event in light of God's Spirit ever leading and guiding to wholeness. What a marvelous work. Everyone should read this and discuss it, but especially those who have suffered their own unimaginable grief and heartbreak.

I have never read religious novels or books that dealt with question of one's faith, but after my psychologist recommended I read "The Shack" I was totally blown away by its story. The book deals with a man dealing with the death of a young child and immediately questions his faith in God and Jesus Christ. Without giving away too much of the plot after you read "The Shack" you will come away with a renewed interest in God Almighty and realize He is not the one responsible for the terrible things that happens in our world.

Written by Canadian writer William P. Young "The Shack" was not intended for public publication but after friends of Young's read the first draft they encouraged him to find a publisher.

The book spent months on the New York Time's Bestseller's list and made millions in royalties which led people involved with the publication of the book to court.

This book is easy reading. Once you start you don't want to put it down. The thing to remember is that it is a work of fiction and not meant to make any religious statement. The reader should approach the book with an open mind and just enjoy it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was one that kept me tightly bound where I could not put the book down. The suspense of Missy's whereabouts combined with her Father Mark's personal journey come together to form a story of hope and regeneration. Mark was so lost until he found God at the shack. God offered him an inside view on his will and how he uses all things for his good and glory. The book is amazingly detailed and really paints a series of beautiful pictures in your mind making you feel as if you are part of the story. Finally, The Shack has truly motivated me and encouraged me in my walk with Christ. The shack is one of the best books I have read in a long time.
