Predictable story, too simple plot, lots of clichés, repeated use of exaggerated and dramatic metaphors instead of a more thorough study of characters, one dimensional characters. Still ok if you're looking for a very light read

I had the pleasure of reading Summer at the Comfort Food Cafe earlier this year and I loved it, so I've been really looking forward to reading this one. And it was definitely worth the wait.
Whilst this may be the second book in the series you don't necessarily have to read the first one to follow whats going on. Summer at the Comfort Food Cafe followed Laura, and in this book we get to know her sister Becca.

The book begins with a Christmas many moons ago, and follows on with Christmas a few years later. Giving us the reader a perfect view of the not so perfect Becca and her hatred for Christmas, so its definitely a surprise when she agrees to leave her Manchester life behind to join her sister and her two kids out on the coast for Christmas.

This book sees the return of everyone we loved from the first book, but this time round there's a wedding, Christmas and some sexy surfer action... and it is delivered in Johnson's fabulous writing, with characters who are as real as you and me, and you will be swept along by the falling off your seat laughing moments, or reaching for the tissues in those teary moments.

I really enjoyed Christmas at the Comfort Food Cafe. I hated to see it end. Like another review, I hope there is a follow-up book. Too bad life doesn't always have a happy ending. It was a nice escape

Becca is over thirty years of age and as expected has some problems. The most serious one is that she has a Christmas phobia. During Christmas time she decided to visit her sister who worked at Comfort Food Cafe . The cafe has a healing effect. She met many good people there. And a boy friend nominee is also waiting there.

This is the second book of the series. In the first one her elder sister found happiness. This time it Becca's turn to do so.

The second book by Debbie Johnson, she is a fabulous writer. Have enjoyed both of these books. She has a way with Characters. They are so life like. Sorry this one ended. I hope she does more on the Comfort Food Cafe.

I didn't know what to expect after thoroughly liking the first book. I finished this book in an afternoon and honestly wanted more. I liked it. It also continued the storyline from the first book. Anymore coming?
