First off, I ADORE Meg Cabot novels. I always look foward to the new releases of her novels. And this novel was fantastic! You can relate and get inside of the head of the main character, Lizzie Nichols. And from page one till the end, you are laughing. It is hysterical! It's a great beach read that you do not want to end. If you're looking for a great, funny, romance novel, this is the book to buy!

I have always enjoyed Meg Cabot's books, but this one shows what is starting to become a recurring problem for her: background research. Lizzie Nichols has supposedly just spent 4 years studying the History of Fashion and a paragraph of her thesis prefaces each chapter. After the second of these excerpts (in which Lizzie attributed the toga to the Greeks), Lizzie was no longer a believable character. The lack of accurate information in the thesis distracted me from the story and prevented me from connecting with Lizzie. Lizzie also shows a lack of knowledge in her intention to research her thesis at the British Museum, when she should have known that Victoria and Albert Museum is the real place to go.

The book is overall a quick and fun read, but I worry about Cabot's lack of research - also presented in "Avalon High." In the future I hope she delves more deeply into her subject matter or hires an expert to help.

I was a little disappointed in Queen of Babble, it being so predictable and somewhat corny. The plot was pretty good and worth reading, but definately wasn't Cabot's best. Also, it seemed to me that there was a lot of unnecessary sexual content. I bet lots of tweenage girls picked up this book as another great Meg Cabot but instead got exposed to all this. The content made it an adult book, but the plot was most tween/teenager-ish.

This newest addition to Meg Cabot's amazing list of books she wrote is very refreshing from her style used in writing her Princess Diaries series.

It's witty, fun to read, and light. It reminds me of Sophie Kinsella's style. You should check this out if your into a book about the journey of a young lady who saw a fantasy in a guy and found reality when she travelled half way across the world to see him. And don't worry its a good ending. :)

After having read several of Cabot's novels, I thought that this was a great adventure. I don't feel it was her absolute best work, but it is definitely worth the read. It's a great YA/chicklit type of book. It transcends both categories with elements of maturity that you sometimes don't find in YA novels. I thought the European adventure was great fun and it was such a feel good story. I'd recommend this to any of my friends as a great book.

Readers of this author may also enjoy reading the Best Friends Series. Bad to the Last Drop, is a barista's nightmare. Best friends Deb and Pat, women of a certain age, get themselves involved in a local murder at the Black Cat Coffee House. It involves lottery tickets, Russian women and the CIA, and is a great read. Didn't figure it out until the end. Their second, Too Much at Stake, set along the shore of Lake Superior, also involves these same characters plus a dead body rolled up in tent canvas!

Meg Cabot delivers yet another charming look into female neurosis! So many authors nowadays show us the "fragile, damsel in distress that needs to be saved". Cabot puts her best foot forward in revealing an inner strength in her character, Lizzie, who makes use of her flaws (mainly her incapability to keep her big mouth shut) to not only save the day, but save herself. It's absolutely enchanting!

This book, and the two that follow, are fun, quick reads. Perfect for lazy afternoons by the pool, Lizzy's antics are pure entertainment. I love Meg Cabot in this series and in the "Size 12 is not Fat" series. Great reads - highly recommended.

I absolutely love all of Meg Cabots books for adults. I really wish she would concentrate more on the adult series instead of the teenie bopper books. This one was more riske than her previous books (Boy Next Door, Every Boys Got One, etc.) but I loved it! A great read. A++++
