A perfect perfectly imperfect couple!

Love at First Roar is the latest in the Grayslake series, but can be read as a stand alone and you still know what is going on. Isaac is the clan's werebear healer and has terrible facial scars from a previous encounter with a group of hyenas. The men of the clan applaud his courage, while the women shrink away from his scars. Kira is the almost blind weremole who came to Grayslake seeking a new clan where she can be safe from the attacks of her previous clan. Not only is she nearly blind, but she has her own scars inside and out to deal with. Now this sounds like it could be a very serious book, but Celia Kyle takes these two imperfect people and creates the most beautiful story around them that has you laughing out loud and tearing up at different times. Throw in the lovable, goofy, drooling, leg lifting, lousy guide dog, Ebenezer, and you have a most delicious story of love and strength of will to overcome past tragedies. I have to admit, I was never a fan of shifter stories until I came across Celia Kyle's books. The combination of funny, tenderness and drama with imperfect characters has me buying everything this woman writes! After all, isn't that what you read for - to escape to another world that is fun to be in!

I have only read a couple of the Greyslake stories from Kindle Worlds and this is my first actual Greyslake book from Celia Kyle. I loved this story but would have truly loved to see Isaac get a sighted mate that could see his scars and be able to see the man behind them. That being said - Kira and Isaac make a fantastic couple and Ebie just adds to the entertainment value of the story. Kira's past has made her strong and independent and given her such an awesome outlook on life. Isaac has seen the relationships that his brothers have with their mates and he struggles with the fact that many women see his scars and are repulsed even though Isaac is a caring and tender person. Even though I did not read the books with Isaac's brothers, I was not lost as the author gives us enough background to have a rudimentary knowledge of the previous couples stories. I would however recommend reading them in order to totally understand everything going on with the wolves and hyenas and how they impact the bears of Greyslake.

I borrowed this book with Kindle Unlimited and want to thank the author for offering this book in the program.

I've been binge reading this series! Again, we ramble into Grayslake. Well, if we were Kira, we probably stumbled in, fell down, got up, and walked into a wall. Kira's life hasn't been the easiest. Raised as the only weremole in a pack of wolves, she has always been preyed upon. Finally having escaped, she's determined to be as independent as possible in her new town. Of course, her first trip visiting her new neighbor doesn't go as well as it could have...
Isaac is done with Grayslake. The scars left over from the hyena battle have women cringing and running in the other direction and Isaac has had enough. He's ready to find his own mate and he's sure it's not going to happen here, so he's ready to move on in the hopes that, whoever she is, his mate is out there somewhere. And then Kira stumbles into his house, knocks over a few boxes, and her dog pees on some of the others! What the heck! Expecting her to react like pretty much every other female in town, he's bowled over by the fact that she has no reaction at all to his scars. Of course she doesn't... she's practically blind!
Kira and Isaac both have physical and emotional baggage to overcome before they reach their HEA. And the continuing story rears its ugly head again, resolving some issues and opening up old wounds. This is another Celia Kyle series that should not be missed and I can't wait for the next story!

Okay I love Isaac and Kira. They have officially become my new favorite couple in Celia Kyle’s Grayslake series. Isaac has always supported his clan. The pain he took is obvious when you look at him, but his family has no conception of just how literal that pain was. He doesn’t toot his own horn but his clan is unable to look beyond the scarring he took for those he protected and Isaac wants a family of his own. Just when he is to leave his home and clan he meets Kira. Kira has suffered just as much if not more than Isaac, but still manages to see the good in others. I loved that about her. I loved that she makes Isaac laugh. He is so serious but she pulls him outside of himself. She knows he is “disfigured” and she doesn’t care. She sees the character of the man just as the man sees the character in her. Isaac looks past her disability and sees the woman who perseveres. Now he just needs to convince her to give him a chance and keep her alive.
Ms. Kyle did a wonderful job with Isaac and Kira. They fit and I liked them separately and together. Both had wounds, some visible but most hidden and Ms. Kyle did not shy away from addressing either. Love at First Roar was extremely well written as well enjoyable. It was full of laughter, love and acceptance. I thoroughly enjoyed both the story and the characters.

Isaac Abrams loves his family and hometown of Grayslake, Georgia but he can no longer take the looks of pity and disgust whenever someone sees his scars. As he prepares to leave, he meets his new adorably cute neighbor and decides to stick around a little longer. After years of abuse and countless times of nearly dying at the hands of her family, Kira finally escapes and is ready to start a new life. She may be half-blind but she’s not helpless and hunky mate or not, Kira won’t stand aside while Isaac does everything for her, including saving her life.

Who is the perfect mate for a werebear healer that wants nothing more than a family but is overlooked because of the scars he received saving the lives of others? Answer: a sassy weremole who won’t let near blindness stop her from living life her own way. Isaac and Kira fit together so well because they’re alike and heal each other in ways no one else can, yet different enough they have unusual and hilarious arguments about the most random things. They can swear like sailors and have no qualms with getting their claws dirty and I really wanted the best for them. Thankfully, the author doesn’t disappoint. A really fun couple that show how sexy scars can be.

Kira comes from a twisted family that manufactures a poison that’s brutal on shifters and their list of victim’s include people closest to her. What they’ve done has had a big impact on Kira and Isaac and I wish there was a better resolution. Not that it’s a bad ending, it just wasn’t as gratifying as I would like. Something I do love is the wolves involvement in the story and the role they play in Kira’s life. It almost feels like it’s a set up for a spinoff series. Love that unexpected tidbit thrown in.

My opinion of Ty (clan Itan and oldest Abrams brother) has diminished since his book due to his callous behavior towards his brothers. Well, papa bear puts an end to that and it’s about time. He’s been a dick to his brothers (for doing the same thing he did!) and him being put in his place and the subsequent graveling is so satisfying to read.

This series has a lot of humor and crazy antics and it keeps the plot and character history from being too heavy. That balance, the lovable imperfect shifters, and intertwining stories lines make this book and the rest of the series a joy to read.

Love at First Roar (the fourth book in the series) will have you in tears in some places and in others, laughing out loud. It is a story about new beginnings, healing from the past and believing in the future when all else tells you not to. A sexy and strong, but very wounded "almost" blind heroine, who happens to be a mole shifter and an equally wounded Bear shifter, find themselves as neighbors as one is moving in, as the other is moving out to try to find a future which no longer exists with the clan. There is adventure and danger, love and laughter and you will not be able to put it down!
Celia Kyle is a brilliant author and the Greyslake series is just one example of her boundless skill, I loved this book so much, I have started to re-read the rest of the series, I urge you to buy the whole series if you do not have it, as every book is a riveting story of courage, love and triumph a testament to having hope and believing in good things do come to good people.

Received an ARC of More than Mated (Grayslake 1-5)

3.5

I fell in love with Kira (weremole) and Isaac (werebear). Between the two of them there was soooo much pain, both physical and mental, but Kira refused to bow under it. She didn't let being prey in a predator pack, constant torture, or the fact she was slightly (mostly) blind stop her from anything. She in turn taught Isaac that there was still a lot to smile about. Thankfully the pain was balanced with a lot of humor. I worried for awhile about Ebie, Kira's (not so great) guide dog, tuning into a werebear snack when he insisted on marking Isaac's house repeatedly. Luckily even Isaac's bear learned to tolerate goofy Ebie.

Really did enjoy reading "Love at First Roar". I will explain title reference to brain pain, in that by about halfway through you have added A LOT of people to the book. With that comes some convoluted explanations of happenings where "who is related to who(m)" is the cause.

Points to the author for coming up with this plot! It's a good one, just takes more brains than I had at 3 a.m.-I did figure it out, just took a few re-reads before I got it. Another good one by Celia Kyle. Thanks Celia, you keep writing and I will keep reading! ?

The scarred bear healer and the mostly blind weremole find that Daddy Bear is the best ally anyone could hope for, and that the past of other kinds of shifters is not at all an open book. The usual fine storytelling, fascinating characters, and vivid imagery make this a great read!
Kendall Taylor really adds to the book with her narration.

I loved this because the characters of Kira and Isaac were so perfect. I loved Kira. Steamy like the others in the series. The storyline had a lot of intense drama going on but the witty dialogue, previous characters, a surprise return of one character and his surprising connection to a new character, quite a bit of family drama as well hysterical interactions, and some really despicable baddies made for an interesting and exciting read. The main characters were so good and healing for each other. Loved it.

This was another great book in the Grayslake series. Issac as practically given up hope that he could have a mate with his scars turning females away from him. Just as he's ready to move out of Grayslake again he meets his new neighbor Kira. She's mostly blind and has scars of her own from years of torture. Both have a lot of issues due to their scars and what they've gone through and that's part of what makes them perfect for each other. I highly recommend this book if you have been reading the seriea. If not, I suggest staring from the beginning and reading all four in the series.

Kira is a half-blind weremole with the worst seeing eye dog ever. She has literally been to hell and back and has decided to move to Grayslake to start over. Being the neighbour to Isaac Abrams, the healer from the Grayslake who has been thru hell himself. The two meet and its a Roaring introduction.

If you love Celia Kyle's previous books you will love this one as well. It's funny, suspenseful and full of sexy times. I cried laughed and hurt for Kira and Isaac. You can be guaranteed that during the times of need that the Abrams family will be there to rally around and support each other.

I was thrilled to receive an ARC and absolutely loved this book! Can't wait for the next one!

A scarred werebear and a semi blind weremole, can they find love. Again Celia Kyle has produced a book and cast of characters that you can easily embrace. I really liked how Isaac's parents play a bigger role in this book. Kira's character is one tough woman who has overcome so much. Her dog Ebie had me grinning. Isaac and Kira made a great couple. It is what is inside the person that makes an individual beautiful. It took Kira to see the beautiful man inside Isaac. It took a healer to help Kira begin to heal the past.

Rating~ 3 stars.

This is the fourth book in the Grayslake series by Celia Kyle. It’s about the remaining Abrams brother Isaac.

We were first introduced to Isaac in the first book No Ifs, Ands, or Bears About It (Paranormal Shapeshifter BBW Romance) (Grayslake Book 1), he’s the healer of the clan and brother to Itan (kind of like an alpha for bears) but by the end of the first book he was badly scarred by the hyena pack they fought. After that Isaac moves away to work for his sister-in-law’s father to get away from everything that has happened to him, he returns to Grayslake at the end of the last book in the series. This book starts with him finally deciding to tell his family that he’s moving away permanently because can’t live in Grayslake where his brothers are happily married and others in the pack treat him poorly because of his scars.

Kira also known as KK to her friends moves to Grayslake to finally escape the horror that her life turned to when she turned eighteen because of her father the alpha and her step-brother. Kira is a weremole while the rest of old pack mates were wolves and viewed her as prey. She’s also kind of blind.

They meet when Kira moves in next door to Isaac and wants to be friends, which does not end well because Isaac is in the process of moving out. I liked them together, they are both very damaged but together they are very sweet and cute together. I liked the overall plot of the story and I also enjoyed the fact that there wasn’t too much angst in the book, there was drama but not much angst between the couple.

Quibbles: I will start of by saying that I liked the first book in the series and I enjoyed the relationship of the couple in it Isaac’s brother Ty and Mia, having said that Ty the Itan in the rest of the books came off as an not a good guy at all (an understatement), he was a s***ty Itan and even s***tier brother to his younger brothers. He annoyed me to no end, his behavior was not of someone who cared about his brothers at all.He did not even know what was going on in his family let alone in his clan. His behavior towards his brothers was appalling and I did not for one second bought his apology for his behavior later in the book. Apart from that I would have liked to know why exactly was Kira blind, maybe I missed it while reading the book but I do not think one was given and I would liked a bit more on her background then what was given.

Overall the book had the usual Celia Kyle humor, I liked the couple and their story it was just the other stuff that made me like the story less. I still enjoyed it, just less than I usually enjoy Celia’s books.

P.s The guy in the cover should be more scarred to match Isaac’s scars.

Isaac, the healer of the pack that was scared from the fight because he treated everyone else and left his and it almost killed him.
Kira, the mole shifter in a pack of wolves who's father and brother made the poison that almost killed Isaac. They tested it on Kira multiple times and always demand her....she is mostly blind and a big curvy girl so she hardly stood a chance with them so she ran away from her father's pack.
From the moment Isaac and Kira meet they want each other but the scar's from both their life's make them doubt the other one wants them.
Just as Isaac has decided he doesn't stand a chance of finding a mate in his pack because all the women can't look at his face all scarred up along comes Kira who can't see it and wants him!!
Yes the have alot of issues but Kira is a sassy mouthed and a " I want to live" woman!!
After all she's been thru, and you find out thru the course of the book it's a dang lot, she keeps going and unlike Isaac doesn't give up!!
Lord you are gonna love Isaac's parents!! Meg his mom is a go getter and can control all her boys and George his dad was the Alpha of the pack and can keep everyone in line except his mom Meg....lolol....she is the one that really gets the ball rolling on them mating and loves Kira!!
I hate to give everything away cause it's such a wonderful story!!! I really think this one is the best by far!!! I just Love Kira and good lord the stuff this poor went thru!!! This one had me reading all night till I got to the end!! The twist and turns and the hidden things that you find out about Kira and some of the other bears will just floor you!!! It did me!!! Goodness but Celia blew me away with this one!!! Yes I laughed out loud many times....and maybe it's just me but gosh I cried so hard at a few places in this one I couldn't believe it!! This was a very emotional one for me but gosh did I love it!!!
You will LOVE this Grayslake story....I'm sure!!!
Would give it 10 stars if I could!!!

I received this story from the author for an honest review.

LOVED this book. Was looking forward to purchasing but was very happy to receive a copy from the author for a honest review. I have read all 4 stories in the Grayslake series--each better than the last. They are standalone stories but they build on one another so reading them all is recommended. And I love that about Celia's books--you get more info on some characters and hear what has gone on with others. I have never read a bad story from Celia. Looking forward to see where these characters go next. This is one of my authors that I keep an eye out for any new books. Please Celia keep up the GREAT work.

This was the most complex of the Grayslake stories. The author was able to weave many stories in one with the were-bitch, psych half brother and surprise twist with missing sister of the bad Alpha. Two scared people able to heal each other. Always a great premise. I really enjoyed this story of the unlikely duo, mole and bear and of course Ebi.

The chemistry between her and Isaac was so good. And boy did this book answer some questions i was shocked how it all led back to the previous character, like six degrees of the Clan!
I highly recommended this whole series!
