Wonderful book. I loved the story. I cared about the family and I didn't want the story to end. One of my top twenty books. I read it twice. Love all of the Grandmother's stories woven into the story.

Powerful. Story that impacts the heart! This story will stay with me forever. Excellent read that can't help but change your perspective and get you thinking about what truly is important as we live out this gift of life that's been given to us. Loved this book!

Lisa Wingate is such an awesome writer, I love all her books and this is no exception, it brought me to tears several times, some happy, some sad. She has a way of making you reflect back on your own life. I really enjoyed this book.

The outline of this story appealed to me and when I got into reading it, the "slice of life" kept me going. This is anyone's story - the trials and tribulations of just living day to day and dealing with job and family stress. The sweetness underlying the whole story kept me from drowning and drew me on with hope to the end. This book made me look for more of Lisa Wingate's stories - and I plan to keep her as one of my "must read" authors.

Excellent story of a young couple who are willing to go outside their successful beginning careers to help an elderly family member and reunite the wife's family who have been separated by miles, years and resentments. As they struggle to help others, they find their own relationship in need of a restructure of priorities. Lisa Wingate is an excellent writer who never fails to bring her characters face to face with reality, including the hand of God active in their lives.

Such a sensitive story of family relationships. Includes personality traits of the sweet, retiring, demanding, insensitive, long standing hurt, jealousy and most of all forgiveness. So well written. A really good read of character developement.

I just discovered Lisa and love everything I have read.
I contacted rer via e mail to ask about reading series out of order and sh commented that they were all stand alone, but characters overlapped. I like this.

This is a sweet, easy, fun and edifying read. Makes you realize how important family relationships are and how important forgiveness, compassion, and thinking of others besides yourself are to maintaining healthy relationships.

This was a book club selection. I read the reviews here and looked forward to reading the book. I was disappointed. There are eternal truths here, but it all works out so simply. Half way through the book I could tell where the author was heading. Grandmother worries about using too much toilet paper and the pipes backing up. I grew up in a rural area, and we always were careful about well water- you Don-t want to run the well dry. The details run true. I wouldn't read the series. The Mitford series was more enjoyable.
