I LOVE Francis Rivers' books. This one is special to me because we read those stories in the Bible over and over and never really question the people's motives or what it would have been like to be in their shoes. Rivers gives a very good idea of what it would have been like. I'll never read the stories of Aaron, Caleb, Jonathan, Amos, or Silas the same again. Each story taught me something different about myself and my walk with the Lord. I highly recommend it.

This is an amazing book. Francine is so gifted in her ability to tell these bible stories in a way that can easily be understood. These men were real and they bring life to the bible. I am amazed at their strength and courage.

Francine Rivers has done a great job again of bringing Old Testament historical leaders to life. As I read this series, I was again struck by the similarities of current times to ancient times....minus the technology! God is faithful, if only we would remain faithful to Him. Now I'm on to Old Testament women. Keep writing, Francine!

Francine Rivers is a wonderful writer & this book only confirms that. Creative, well-researched with a wonderful grasp of human nature, the stories offer a penetrating insight into man's relationship with God and God's endless grace towards us. Excellent read.

Francine Rivers writes beautifully and weaves an authentic story around five Bible characters. Though the stories are fictionalized, the central themes and facts coincide with their Biblical basis. It is a refreshing way to consider these characters in their historical setting.

This is a wonderful compilation of five stories of biblical men and the times they lived in. Francine Rivers does an excellent job of drawing the reader into the time and culture that the main character lived in. She also takes us through their struggles of life and faith, which give us a deeper understanding of our own. Lessons from the bible are demonstrated through story. I highly recommend this book.

Intriguing stories, believable characters, based on Biblical, historical people & culture. I could hardly put the book down. I highly recommend this for people who enjoy Christian fiction. Francine Rivers is an incredible writer of compelling stories.

Francine has come through again. She has a way of making this men of the bible come alive. I enjoy her perspective on these mens lives. The lessons at the end of each book makes you think about how you can relate and apply God's word to your life. Highly recommend.
