There is nothing worse than downloading a book and finding errors like the following "self-emulation". This obviates the need to continue reading this book, just the thought of finding more typos like this is enough.

Good story. Great character interactions, predictable in some of the subplots, interesting ending (unexpected) possibly a little disappointing? Ending left things wide open to a sequel. A worthwhile read.

I chose this book on a recommendation from a friend, I glad I did as it turned out to be a very good read. I had not noticed the author before but will now keep a lookout for future books as I like the style.

The story was entertaining, and the characters were OK. Guess my OCD prevented me from rating higher cause of the misspellings and grammar errors. I would also like to know why Sydney's cousin wasn't developed.

Ex-law officer Sydney Jesup finds herself facing a killer in the opening pages of this thriller. However, her problems are just beginning. With help, she is no longer a victim; she is leading the charge.

The narrative is fast-paced, non-stop action and suspense. Richter Watkins writes with a straight-forward style that moves the story forward from page to page. He is especially adept at creating rich, interesting, colorful characters in a way that makes them believable. The story is an original that pulls the reader in from page 1. Reviewed by the author of The Children's Story, A Novel Not for Children (about good and evil).

I had not read anything buy this author before. Richer Watkins hits the ground running within the first chapter, keeping you on the edge of your seat, as the first shots are fired at Sydney. As she runs for her life and is saved by a stranger, Marco. Marco has served time in a Mexican jail, you add rich men who think they are above the law, a hired killer, and a prostitute, you have a non stop action packed reading. As Sydney races to find a way to save the Lake Tahoe area from destruction, she finds help from some unlikely sources. Can she and Marco stay alive long enough to find what they are looking for?

Omg the intensity of this book is incredible. Richte r Watkins takes you back to the mob days. Where Cora the town hire turns more tricks and teams up with the mobster. In the end the scorpion does not win but sinks and she swims to her victory with the help of the da agent.

COOL HEAT has enough twists and turns to keep its reader confused, while the cast of characters reminds me of the crime families seen in the movies. Sydney is a heroine who won't back down and her forced into it partner, Marco, is also very capable. If not, they wouldn't have made it to the end. This Lake Tahoe shoot-em-up even has a real African lion and a New York hit man to help the story along. Strong Language RECOMMENDED
