This book was hilarious! I was chuckling outloud within the first few minutes of reading the book. I find Kathy Griffin very funny and her sarcastic sense of humor makes me happy. She does dish on many celebrities and you also get to see a more serious side of her when she discusses her family. I too am from an Irish background so I enjoyed the little jokes she had made about the Irish or about their drinking or even their hard work ethic. This is not a book that has some amazing plot or story-line, it is more like having a really in depth conversation with a friend. All in all, this book was an absolute joy to read!

Kathy Griffin holds nothing back in this book - details about her childhood and interesting family situations, her marriage and sad divorce, how crappy Steve Martin treated her once. She dishes it out and I gobbled it up. And I laughed a lot.

Awesome biography but really for Kathy Griffin fans only. It's funny and serious and thoughtful and just an overall good read, but I'd recommend getting into some of her stand-up first if you're a new fan.

I didn't realize I'd learn such interesting things about Kathy and her past. She's very relatable and I felt she was a lot more tolerable than I realized. She doesn't put up with BS and she is happy with whatever she gets. She's thankful and doesn't feel "entitlted". I found this book refreshing.

I love Kathy! This book is great! I originally bought the audio book version, but this paperback version has even more great stories. If you like celebrity books with behind the scenes dirt this book is really fun.

Kath is a great natural comedian and this book shows what a sense of humor can do for one's life. She has a wonderful work ethic she got from her parents and a serious desire to be a part of everything showbiz related. She's a natural entertainer and desires people to get her jokes and euphemisms. Many of her stories are funny, but a few come at the expense of someone else. It's too bad her no holds barred credo can't somehow be tamed in such stories, as the reader is left to feel badly for the wronged person ie discussing the lack of someone's intelligence. She also makes many jokes about Jesus, and to believers this is blasphemous. She would be better off, in my opinion, not bringing up religion at all. She may want to listen to her mom Maggie and learn not to burn her bridges, and Jesus may be her biggest yet. This aspect of her humor is enough to turn me off to her. I hope she reads this and seriously considers taking the Jesus jokes out of her act. I would have paid to see her and bought her other books, but those are jokes I do not find funny and religion is for most people something sacred and not something to be laughed about and disparaged.

I cannot tell you how many celebrity autobiographies I read. This one is absolutely fantastic. Truthful, touching, and no doubt, the classic voice of Kathy. Her humor is not overbearing, as in some comics' books. She mixes her tough, sad, hard times in with the fun to create a strong life story.
