Love this workbook! Covers a lot of sight words needed for kindergarten to second grade. My daughter loves it as well.
The best thing you can do is to scan/copy and print the pages so you can use them multiple times. My child learns by doing and she has to "do" a few times before it sticks with her. By copying and printing the pages she can go through the worksheets several times or however much she needs.
This is a great workbook for helping learn sight words. Won't be disappointed. There are also tips for games and flash cards in the book for more ways to reinforce learning the words. My daughter loves doing the "silly sentences".
Great for teachers, homeschoolers, and at home for refreshing during breaks or to prepare for school.

I use them for station work in my special education class. It has boog practice and it pushes my students to do a little more because they have to write a sentence at the end. I help them come up with a sentence and write it on the first line and they copy it.

I like the sight words and that he can practice writing; however, one of the activities is to cut out the letter and paste them in order to make the word. Well when you do that you are cutting out part of the next page so you can't complete that activity. Poor design... Should have thought that out a little better.

I use this for kindergarten through (low reading) 2nd graders to help them remember their sight words (high frequency words). The tactile approach to writing the word over and over adds to their learning ability.

We were so excited to purchase what appeared to be a great resource for learning sight words; however, despite all the potential it has, we were disappointed. Why? Because with the positioning of the words to cut out along the bottom of each page, you can't do them all. It would have been perfect had they simply offset the letters along the bottom so you could do both sides of each page. Otherwise, it's an all-around great book. Unfortunately, this is a pretty big "oops", allowing for the poor rating. (We have taken to copying one side of each page as a solution to completing them all.)

My daughter has enjoyed doing the sight words in this book. I like how they first trace it, then write it on their own and say it aloud, complete the example sentence they provide using the sight word and lastly they get to create their own sentence using the sight word.
The reason for lower rating and only negative which is pretty big for my 4 year old is that at the bottom of each page you cut out the letters that form the sight word and paste it to complete one of the activity. Well the way letters are printed if you cut them to do the first page, then you don't have the letters for the one on the following page to use for cut/ paste activity. My daughter loves that part the best but disappointed she can't do it because of the way the publisher printed that.

You have to photocopy the pages, it's front and back so you can't cut and paste without ruining the other pages. Terrible design. My kids find it a bit boring also. You pretty much write the word 3-4 times and your done.

This book is great for teaching sight words, however it has you cutting the letters out for each word at the bottom of the page and this isn't possible because the backside of each page is letters for the next word. So, I just have my son skip the cutting and write the letters in where the cut letters are supposed to be glued. Only con to this...Otherwise, a great and easy book for a child starting K.

This is a great book of worksheets! But I haven't been able to use it yet with my kindergartener because she has only had a few sight words that are in this book. I will probably use it this summer for extra practice. Love the sentences and pictures on the pages.

The only thing with this workbook is the pages are back to back and you are unable to do the cut and paste portion unless you copy every page and have your child cut and paste from the copy. However if you are a teacher and buying this for your class it is a perfect addition to the curriculum.

It is a nice practice booklet for my daughter. But I believe it would be more enticing with more colors and pictures. I am glad that it enticed her to practice her handwriting and reading at the age of 4. It supplements her school homework.

As with many of my good teaching ideas, I stole this one from a fellow teacher. This book is great and I would definately recommend it for kindergarten and first grade teachers. It can be used for independent work. It provides sight word practice and also incorporates complete sentence writing. I give it a definate thumbs up!

I bought it because of the overwhelming reviews. But! The book is so thin with only 50 pages and each page really just one word! I was expecting like several hundred pages. It is a rip off for the price.

This book has the potential to be an excellent book, however you only get half a book if you let your kid cut out the words on the bottom to paste in the sentence. Unless you copy the backs of every page, the word on the back is useless. I thought they would be printed differently to where you get a word to cut and paste on both sides.

My daughter did similar worksheets in pre-k so we bought this to keep practicing over the summer! Love it! Only complaint is they print letters at the bottom of the page to cut and paste on the pages to spell the words, but the letters on the front and the back are printed on the same space so you can't paste the letters for both pages since they are front and back ? They could off set the printing to fix the issue.

Take the time to use the "Look Inside" feature to look at the cover, which adequately shows the content. Each word is presented individually, just as shown. While it is certainly a good idea to have children write a sight word, see it in a sentence, and manipulate letters in the appropriate order, my special education primary students were bored after two of them and were not successful reading the word later in the day. For a better value that will give you results and provide a good review cycle of preceding words, try something like More Sight Word Stories by Gloria Lapin. Young students love the minibook format, and they can both read them in class and reread them as homework.

I was amazed to see the bad reviews. Is this workbook more fun than Nintendo? UMMM, no, it is a workbook. I use it to reinforce what we have been learning in other more visually stimulating books. Do look at the pages and notice that the student gets to cut out the letters of the word and paste them for one of the activities. She LOVES that and it gives her practice with her motor skills. This book is a great resource that I use often. The last thing asked is for the child to use the sight word in a sentence. So on one page you get the word to trace, then the word to write on your own, the word to cut out and paste, then a sentence to write the word into and last of all you get to make your own sentence with the word. So you have reading, hand writing, cutting and pasting and creative writing all on one page. What more could you really ask for? This is a solid book that gets right to the skills children need to learn in short simple lessons.

This book is a great concept - my daughter was especially excited about the cut & paste letter to spell the word that is featured on the page - they all love cutting and pasting... but they designed the book so the word on the front and back of the page have the letters to cut out back to back. So you're only able to do one side of each page because you've cut through the other pages letters already. And because there are other letters from the other side of the page on the back of these letters she gets confused if she's cut it right, or where these random letters go that belong to the other page. So that part is useless. Wondering if they never tested this?

I was so excited to begin the book with my daughter as it combined both sight words and cutting and pasting. Unfortunately, the cut and paste task is poorly designed. The words are in the same location on both front and back of the pages. If you cut one, you cut both and will not be able to complete the other side cut and paste part.
