I had trouble putting this book down. It makes you want to read a little more, just a bit more until I go back to (whatever you were or should be doing instead of reading). The storyline took directions I was expecting nor did they seem contrived.

Quite a straight parallel with King Arthur legends. After the action from the first 3 books, movement in this book slows to a crawl as it tries to develop some new characters in what is now a very rich world and story line. With an open mind through the first half of the book, the last half turned out quite well.

I have found the Kingfountain Series to be highly entertaining. The Hollow Crown was full of excitement and wonder. The style of writing keeps me on the edge of my seat and completely unable to stop at the end of the chapter. There is always a surprise, much like real life, where prediction of the next step is unknown yet exciting. Great read.
The Forsaken Throne (Kingfountain Book 6) :: Destiny (The New Earth Series Book 4) :: New Earth (Star Quest Trilogy) :: Resistance (The New Earth Series Book 3) :: The King of Attolia (Queen's Thief)

I think that focusing these next few books on the children of the original characters was a great way to continue the series. The book is compelling and keeps you reading. But as with other books in the Kingfountain series I feel that there are some themes that aren't completely fleshed out and lack answers.

The transition to the next generation was masterfully played. Loved the link to the earlier books, but the clear feel of a new story and characters to connect with. Both a chance to feel the story continue and embark on a new journey at the same time.
