Dan and Amy, along with their teammates Atticus and Jake, just barely touch down in New York City before they receive their next instructions from the evil Vesper One. It doesn't take their collective and very intelligent brains long to figure out to head for Yale University to inspect an ancient and unreadable manuscript called the Voynich. It just so happens that the Voynich was a special project of Atticus and Jake's mom before she died, and the added knowledge she had shared with her sons helps the team figure out that Vesper One wants a missing page of the manuscript that is hidden in Brazil.

But immediately after landing in Brazil, the team receives a threatening message that Atticus has been singled out for assassination. Twice an attempt is made on his life, and twice someone else is almost killed. Dan, Amy and Jake desperately want to send him someplace safe; however, Atticus is determined to stay and help solve the riddles. No one else is going to get hurt because of him. Unfortunately, someone does get hurt --- one of the hostages held by Vesper One ends up dead.

This news stuns and cripples the team, especially Amy. The combined pressures of leadership, fighting Vesper One and even her confused heart over Evan and Jake have overloaded her soul. She begins slipping away into depression. A very concerned Dan steps up to take over leadership, but he finds he misses taking orders from his sister. Despite their stumbling blocks, the team manages to make two huge discoveries: first, they finally get a pretty good grasp on the identity of Vesper One, and the result is highly disturbing. And even more disturbing, terrifying even, is the exposure of Vesper One's sinister plans!

Book Five of this exciting series pulls fans even deeper into the mystery and finally reveals a few vexing answers, like what the evil Vespers are attempting. And the answers are chilling! Of course, all of these hungered for answers leads to even more questions, and Linda Sue Park does a wonderful job creating suspense as she guides readers through the intriguing history of the Voynich manuscript. She also handles Amy's new fall into depressed despair with sympathy and compassion, and then ends the book with one heck of a cliffhanger. Alas, the end of the series is in sight, which is both exciting and regretful. Fans have a very long and tantalizing wait ahead of them for the final book in the series, DAY OF DOOM, available in March 2013!

This book was arguably the best in the series. The Vespers felt a lot more real than in the previous books; I was always wondering, if they are so ruthless, why haven't any of the hostages been killed yet? They keep disobeying and trying to escape. It wasn't that I wanted them to die, it's just that if the Vespers were as ruthless as the story claimed, at least one Cahill hostage would have bit the dust by now. Well, in this book (view spoiler)SPOILER Uncle Alistair did. -Sad yay-

One thing I didn't like, however, was that in this book Amy was less cool, fearless leader, and more Mockingjay Katniss-ish. Near the end, she goes slightly insane. I understand why, though I don't exactly like it. Amy kind of annoyed me when she did that.

It was also interesting to learn about Archimedes. And finally, all the stuff the Vespers are making the Cahills steal makes sense. The ending was another cliff hanger that made me want to have the sixth book in my hands right at that very moment!

The unexpected plot twists, exhilerating action, and unbelievable ending made this a great book to read. But, in the sixth book, it better say who Amy is going to end up with, because otherwise that whole love square--yes, square, there are THREE guys--will be for nothing!

P.S. I didn't like this cover at ALL. Ugly scorpion does not equal gorgeous cover!

It just gets worse and worse, but no less interesting. Tons of important discoveries and decisions. It’s impossible to stop now! I have to find out what happens next. Will I continue the series? For sure. Would I recommend this to others? Maybe, but people more my age than middle grade.

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." -- Romans 12:21 (NKJV)

Trust No One is without a doubt the most suspenseful and terrifying book in the series so far. Pressure is starting to take its toll on the desperate Cahills and their allies. This book would not be a good choice for someone who easily transfers reading into nightmares.

I thought that the plot developments were rewarding and the character development continued to be interesting. Where some of the books in the series seem like just another cliffhanger, Trust No One definitely advances the story in meaningful ways.

My interest in the series was increased by this book, and I'm very excited to read the next book, which is out now.

In the meantime, Trust No One!

*May contain spoilers* From the start, this book just really bugged me. There are SO MANY inconsistencies with the rest of the series. The first and most important being the identity of Vesper One. Unless their assumptions are incorrect, it can't be who they think it is. In the first book, we discover that Vesper One is male and has a scar. And now it's someone completely different? Yeah, right.
And there was nothing with Casper and Cheyanne. Nothing with AJT. Nothing with Interpol or anything like that.
Then there's the part when Dan contacts Vesper One. I thought they couldn't do that? Vesper One is always a step ahead... he's supposed to /know/ when they acquire something.
There were also several other little things that really bugged me, but then I'm probably just nitpicking.
Some things did surprise me, some better than others. The ending, despite everything else, was actually pretty good. It surprised me most of all and was really intense and big. I liked that. Can't deny you will like the ending.
Don't get me wrong, I love the series. I have and read every book written for it. This one was just more disappointing than the rest of the books. Hope the next one is better.

Before I start my review, for those who dont like spoliers when you see " Minor Spoiler " or " Spoiler " skip to " End of Spoilers"

In this book, I loved the mystery, suspense, plot, pretty much all of it. At the very beginning though, our heroes found out who the mole was. I personally thought that was a bit rushed, but I didn't mmind. I cant wait to get the next book because this book makes you want the bookring ght when you finish. We get to see almost everyone's point of view in this book, except I didnt get to see the hostages and Phoniex as much as I wanted. Amy and Jakes romance thing is still going on, and Dan is still getting the serum ingredients.

* MINOR SPOILERS *
First of all, I think that Its weird that Dan Amy Atticus and Jake are so sure that Isabel Kabra is Vesper One. Vesper One has a burn on HIS arm. Vesper One is a GUY.

Next, I personally think that Amy should break up with Evan since she seems to like Jake so much

* SPOILERS *

Sinead is the traitor. I originally thought that Evaan woild make more sense as the mole, but Sinead turned out to be better for the role.

At thw end of the book, Dan drank the serum. Then it ended. Wow, I want the next book NOW! :)

* END OF SPOILERS *

I seriously recommend this book. I might have given it four stars, but in the end this book made an awesome story that really anyone can read. It made a great read.

This book is thrilling, with lots of twists and turns, leaving you feel like danger is lurking around every corner- and with the Cahills and Rosenblooms, it really is. Sometimes they get things wrong, and it reminds you that nobody is perfect. The Vespers are pure evil, no one in their right mind would leave the Cahill family for them. Unfortunately, it seems like Sinead isn't in her right mind. Niether is Isabelle, but we already knew that. This book is rightfully named; Trust No One.

SPOILER ALERT!!! Good plot and AWESOME ENDING!! I can't belive Dan drank the serum (Not the real one, Amy switched it out), Isabel Kabra is Vesper 2, and Amy gave up the Ring. (BTW, the Vespers ow have a doomsday device and Sinead works for the Vespers!) Spectaculuar book.

My elementary and preteen kids have loved the 39 clues series. This Cahills Vs Vespers series brings in a some more fighting and violence, but my kids are getting older so I didn't put the books down on that account. I was disappointed with the swear word from Sinead in this book and about Dan and Atticus giggling over drawings of unclothed women (on multiple occasions through the book). Completely inappropriate and very disappointing! I should not have pre-screen books written for 8-12 year olds.

Personally, I was expecting a bit more. Linda Sue Park is one of my favorite authors, but this is definatly not her best writing.

One of the problems I had with this book is Amy. In this book, she's depressed 24/7. I loved Amy's 'I-wil-keep-fighting' attitude, but in this book, that Amy is gone.

Also, when she's not depressed, she's always obsessing over her Jake/Evan conflict. I mean seriously. The Vespers are so close to making a doomsday device but she's obsessing who should be her boyfriend. Get a life.

I was going to give this 2, but because I enjoyed the series as a whole, I'm going to give it a 3. I would rather not read the next book, but I will for the sake of finishing the series.

This series is going downhill. The Vespers are nasty and getting too evil for a children's series geared toward the age that this series is geared towards. The orginal 10 books were good, but this series gets far nastier with far more disturbing violence than the last. From the reviews for Book 6, I may stop recommending this series to young readers in my library.
