The book began rather like hitting the ground running; as each book selects a different character to focus on, the cast widens considerably with this novel. The primary focus is on Ani, a once minor character who is given a chance to be further explored. Unfortunately, this puts most of the other characters' storylines on hold.

I felt as if the plot is getting a bit complex, with the relationships among the differing courts continuing to take shape. Although the book settles on a way to balance the world of Faerie, readers will be awaiting a further installment to see resolution to questions unanswered from previous titles in the series.

Dark, full of secrets and romance, RADIANT SHADOWS will satisfy fans of the Wicked Lovely series. Melissa Marr is such a great writer; she sure does know how to keep her readers flipping the pages, scarfing down her books.

The characters like always are awesome. The new characters Ani and Devlin are well-written and fascinating. The hold their own against the previous characters.

This book picks up where FRAGILE ETERNITY left off. It's better to read the first three books in the series in order to better understand what's happening. The world in this series is just so magical and amazing. Definitely recommended.

Melissa Marr has done a fantastic job in her previous books to create a world of intricacies and depth. Radiant Shadows, the latest installment does not let the reader down. The characters are dynamic and round, the plot is interesting and exciting and altogether, the book is a wonderful young adult read. Many other reviews have summarized the book, so I will leave that alone. Here's what you need to know:

+ Radiant Shadows is an enjoyable, fantastic read

+ Has great, relate-able characteristics

- The dialogue is predictable and the descriptions could use a bit less....shallowness.

- Character development is too easily revealed (for me at least)

+ Plot is great, with a fantastic twist at the end
An Oregon Coast Mystery (Garrison Gage Series Book 3) :: (Book 2 of The Immortal Trilogy) (The Taker Trilogy) :: Wild Iris Ridge (Hqn) (English Edition) :: A Romance Novel (The Cowboys of Cold Creek) - Dancing in the Moonlight :: The Iron King (The Iron Fey Book 1)

Radiant Shadows starts right after where Fragile Eternity ended. I found this book to be amazing. Ani was a really interesting character and I like learning more about her, then the vague mention in the previous books. Devlin was also deeper then he seemed and I loved him. The plot was fast moving and very interesting. I am intrigued in what the other books will be like in the series, because of something that happened at the very end of this book. Marr is a fantastic writer and I can't wait for more books from her. I would highly recommend reading this series, if you enjoy Holly Black's books.

When I first started reading Radiant Shadows, not only was I confused, but I thought Marr had made a mistake. I was sure that she should have followed Stephanie Meyer's path and left this novel as a companion, to be released after the series finished. However, the more I read the more wrong I was.

After wondering for the first 150 pages where Seth and Aislinn's love story had gone, I got swept into the story of Devlin, Ani, and Rae. I think Marr did a great job of developing these characters. It can't be easy to decide accurate actions for someone that is equal parts chaos and order, someone that is a half-mortal/half-faerie Hound, and someone who is a dreamwalker.

By the end Marr did manage to "entwine the threads" of these newly important characters to those in the previous novels. It becomes clear why she had to introduce a new cast at this stage of the game. Devlin, Ani, and Rae are not only indisposable to the Wicked Lovely novels, and to Faerie, but I am waiting just as impatiently to find out how their story continues as I have been to find out the fate of Aislinn and Seth in Darkest Mercy.

Ani takes center stage as does her siblings: Trish and Rabbit. Keenan is missing and there's no explanation for that but at least some other loose ends get resolved in this book. It was compelling and really explained what the Dark Court does. What it leaves out how Keenan disappeared. The question did War get him? There's the one thing that got left out. While Sorcha, Seth, Delvin, and Ani are sealed away in Faerie, War is on the loose. Niall plays a small part while his precessor gets killed in this volume.

I'm finding the Wicked Lovely series a little hit-and-miss. I loved book one, disliked book two, liked book three and loved book four. It has been a nice twist to have each book revolve around different sets of characters within the same continuing storyline. It helps each stand alone much better than most series. This book has excellent writing, strong character development and an ending that although predictable, was satisfying.

After reading some reviews, I was a little scared I wouldn't like this book. Not true! This is a really great series with dynamic characters and "out of the box" plots. My favorite part is that so many of the characters have very different, special and un-ordinary relationships. And things between all the characters just intensify within this book. Irial, Niall, Seth, Sorcha, Ani... and now, Devlin.

My only caution would be, try not to have any expectations when reading this book. Yes, it's different from others in the series. Yes, it centers around a different "main" character. Yes, we learn new things of other "main" characters. But take the book for what it is, "Ani's story"... try not to look at it as just another step in "Ash & Keenen's or Seth's" story, and I think you'll really enjoy it! <3

The book was interesting.. but it was filled with mostly violence and lust. The best book so far in my opinion was definitely
the first one. After Wicked Lovely we seemed to go down a path to nowhere. Now the last book may give some resolve to the whole story, but I thought Fragile Eternity and now Radiant Shadows are mostly filler to get to the end of the series. I find that very tiring. Also I didn't really care about Ani, Rae and Devlin. I wanted to hear more about Seth, Ash & Keenan. I definately wouldn't recommend these books for younger age groups, they are filled with adult themes, bad language, and references to sex (although nothing explicit). Overall, I was hoping this book would be more satisifying than Fragile Eternity was but found it worse. I was very disappointed.

The book was okay. My problem with the series is that there are to many side stories. It is to hard to keep track. The author needs to focus on one main story line and stick with it. When I was reading this recent book I couldn't remember the exact story line of Ani. I kept getting frustrated.

I just finished reading Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr. Apparently it has been a long time since I read the last book in the series because I was soooooooooooooooo lost. I remembered Sorcha, Bananach, Devlin, and Seth, but I had no idea who Ani, Rae, Tish, and Rabbit were. By the time that I was a third of the way through the book, things began making more sense, but not completely. Once I figured out the plot, the book was okay, but I am unsure whether I am going to invest the time--and the confusion--of reading any more in the series. I just didn't bond with any of the characters and don't know if it would be worth reading another confusing novel.

I thought this was going to going a different direction when I ordered it and did not quite get into the storyline..maybe because I did not read the other three I dont know but I guess if you are going to read this you need to read the first of the series

The main characters from the previous books were absent with the exception of walk ins by Seth. I was disgusted by the thruple at the end! The end felt forced and unsatisfying. I did like the chemistry between the two main characters.

Well after the first three books that read like parodies of Holly Blacks Modern Faerie tale books with very very very very similar content from drug issues in book 2 and a faerie war in 3. Now Melissa has set herself apart from Holly's work by doing a 4th book. Oh golly! 4 books, not 3 so the 4th one must have something different. So I had to know so I got it and there were some big bits that seem based on book 1 and 3 of The Modern Faerie Tale series but the romance is as flat as ever. I think this book is the the best of the four but that's like saying if you write four books of Harry Potter fan fiction eventually one of your wizard kids might do something different than Harry. I really should give this book two stars for finally treading lightly or originality by why? I imagine Melissa is working hard on a new and amazing chapter book series now or maybe a curse and crime YA novel. Who knows?

Melissa Marr is a wonderful author. The wicked lovely series is great! I really can imagine myself there with all of them, I can picture what they look like. She is so descriptive. I look forward to reading another series of hers!
