A good example of the emotional problems of our wounded warriors. What courage they have to have when they have given so much, they have to dig deeper and do more. What have we asked of them? War is a horrible thing, useless, selfish and it should never happen........

Very nicely written. I especially appreciated the fact that the author didn't attempt to delve too deeply into the mental trauma suffered by the heroine. Unless you actually suffer such a loss, you can't possibly understand completely. The romance was handled with class.

About a woman soldier coming home after looking half her leg. She is feeling sorry for herself an a once childhood friend to befriend her again. They both have a lot to learn. It is slow paced but interesting to see how she reacts to him am others.

I loved the emotional twists and turns as Magdalena Cruz runs away from Dr. Jake Dalton, living with past vengeance she only thinks she understands. Patiently persistent, he continues to run her in circles and then..
But that would be telling. A delightful read!

The book was easy one day reading, but quite predictable! That wasn't so disapointing, since it is the direction I desired! However, it seemed a bit sophomoric, as from a very amateur writer. I rated the book four stars because the story was weighty, just poorly written, in my opinion!

Funny how one can relate to Maggie. Although you don't have to be missing a limb to feel unloved or a misfit, this story tells you there are people who look sat all f that nonsense. It does put faith back into true love!

Disheartened, afraid, depressed. Hope without hope of being able to rise above the pain and hate of the past, yet Faith and courage from the last person expected turns into the bright future of love, hope and courage.

It was just ok. Not enough romance, not enough steam, and 100 percent predictable. The back story about being an amputee was different, so that is really the only thing that made this story memorable.

An enthralling trip through love and recovery from physical and mental wounds that have the reader alternatively laughing and crying. A very well written story. The author's research into understanding of PTS Syndrome is apparent.

So yes, this story IS predictable...would we all read it if it were anything else? I liked the main character of Maggie, even though she is an ornery beyotch...but I think that's what makes you love her, and certainly, she acknowledges her flaws often enough. The character of Jake is just unreal. Doctor who has been pining for her his whole life, instantly in love with her. How awesome is that? But, the best thing is that this story, is well written...I've read some crappy books lately (free downloads), and it is refreshing to see those with decent vocabulary and plausible story.

I really enjoy this book. About a young women, who just came back from the war, had lost part of her leg and had to adjust to everyday living. Falls in love, but first has to learn to forgive and let the pass go. Very heart warming story. I couldn't put the book now. Just have to read it and see what you think.

A woman veteran that has to re-enter life. GREAT! This is the first romance novel I've ever read to deal with such an issue and the author managed to involve me in the struggle and the passion. Great JOB!

This story was very touching. I could just feel how much the two felt for each other but the loyalty Maggie felt to her father. I found myself smiling, laughing out loud at times & yet very sad at other. A must read.

A new favorite. I loved the characters and the story line. Like that it wasn't just a generic love story and that it dealt with a real issue. The way Maggie has to overcome her insecurities about her prosthesis was written in a way that you could easily empathize with her, even if you've never gone through anything like it. I will definitely be reading this again soon.

Yes you know what you are getting with any Harlequin book but this was so much more. The pride and stubbornness of the heroine due to her amputation was clearly well researched and the hero was not some muscle bound cantankerous man that makes you question the heroine's sanity but an average kind hearted guy.
Loved it.

I stumbled upon this book and was entirely more than pleased when it just so happens to be based out of my home state of idaho. These kinds of stories for our wonderful state and Raeannes techniques and enthusiasm for story was a total delight. I look forward to more of her books.

This story of unconditional love is truly heartfelt. A wounded veteran struggling with pride, depression, anger and guilt. A compassionate doctor with deep feelings that have grown over the years, has an opportunity to express an abiding love. But it's not an easy road for either one. A very good and satisfying read.
