A Romance Novel (The Cowboys of Cold Creek) - Light the Stars

What a wonderful story to kick off the trilogy of the Dalton brothers! The beauty of the ranch, the mischief of the children and the twist of excitement on a cattle ranch makes this book a must read!!

As with all novellas this was short and sweet. It's different to find the man having to juggle life with children by himself but that's what made this book interesting. Wade Dalton is a widower with three children, a ranch to run and a mother that run off with her online lover to get married. All of this feasible in this day and age. What I found lacking in this story was unfinished heat between the main characters Wade and Caroline. She led us up to the possibilities and left us hanging. I read the first book in this series and she followed through with the sexual tension she built up for us. Also something I found odd was that this book should have probably been the first in the series because her first book is somewhat of a spoiler for books two and three because we sort of know the family dynamic in the first book and then you go back in to two and three and find out how the family started. Overall she did good as far as creating a problem, adding the interest between our main characters, and then the climax and of course the happy ending. She stays on board with the story other than, of course to me, being out of sync in way of book order.
