Evergreen Springs is the third book in the Haven Point series. Cole Barrett has his hands more than full as Christmas approaches. His two children come to live with him after his less than stellar ex-wife dies. He is thrilled to finally have them but with a ranch to turn around and no help in taking care of the kids...what more does need he need to deal with....how about a sister estranged from her husband expecting twins?! Wow! When Cole has to take his VERY pregnant sister to the hospital, he doesn't expect to feel anything for the emergency room doctor, but Dr. Devin Shaw is definitely not what he expects.

This is a super part 3 to the lovely Haven Point series. Pick up your copy of this book and find out what happens next! You will not be sorry. I was so sad when RaeAnne's Hope's Crossing series came to a close but have thoroughly enjoyed this series.

Evergreen Springs is the third book in the Haven Point series. It can stand alone but I recommend reading in order from the start. Even though I’ve read her books for a year or so I consider myself a new fan of RaeAnne Thayne’s books. I love the emotional tone struck in each book.

In Evergreen Springs Cole Barrett is trying to do right by his children. He wants to give them a safe and secure place to live – something that’s been missing in their short lives. He also wants to establish his horse-training business at the family ranch he recently inherited. If that doesn’t seem like enough to juggle his very pregnant-with-twins sister has just moved in with him.

Devin Shaw is a doctor and, of course, wants to help people. When she meets Cole she can see he needs to be helped if not saved. He also needs to cut himself some slack. They hit it off but then he starts to feel she can do much better than him. But what if that’s not what she wants.

The theme of forgiveness runs through Evergreen Springs which makes it a perfect book to read during the holidays (or any other time of the year!). I loved seeing Haven Point decorated for Christmas and the cameos by previously featured characters were fun.

I enjoyed Evergreen Springs and recommend it to fans of RaeAnne Thayne, the Haven Point series, and contemporary small-town romance. *I received a review copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

What a joyful way to dream of Christmas, with white snow falling over the mountains and Lake Haven, located in Haven Point, Idaho. Evergreen Springs is no exception, with the fir trees, barns, horses, farm house, and one that also has hot mineral springs. Cole has two children, ages 8 and 6, to care for full time, as his ex-wife is now deceased, and he hardly ever had the chance to see them in their young life. With his busy farm life, he is stressed, has been a loner for many years, and has been very hard on himself due to his past, not so innocent life. His sister, Tricia, pregnant with twins, has left her husband back in California and is staying with them to help Cole with both his daughter, Jazmyn, and his son, Ty. A fall sends her to the hospital, and due to the late stages of her pregnancy, she has to stay until her son and daughter are born. Devin, a general practice physician, works at the hospital and there, Cole and Devin meet. There are so many incidences that have taken place in both Cole's and Devin's life. Both are broken in their own way. Read this beautiful novel. There are many fun, loving, caring people that live in the area. I fell in love with the characters, and it is written with love.

THIS IS THE BOOK TO READ THIS CHRISTMAS!!!

I absolutely LOVE the magical feeling that comes with a RaeAnne Thayne Christmas novel!!! Evergreen Springs is a novel that should not be missed!!! Everyone should read this book and become under RaeAnne Thayne's spell. Her beautiful writing draws you into the story right away and keeps you there in a winter wonderland till the very last page.

You totally fall in love with these characters. They are so likable and fun!! Dr. Devin Shaw is such a humble, giving and sweet person who deserves to fall in love so much. You want her to have her happily ever after so bad! She feels an instant attraction towards Cole, who is an ex-con rodeo star and also a single dad struggling to connect with his grieving kids. Cole is hot! There is nothing Devin wants more then to give this family a happy and memorable Christmas. Reading about how Devin and Cole and the kids all come together to be one big happy family has all the great feels.

This is such a wonderful Christmas story filled with love, hope, and forgiveness. RaeAnne's Christmas novels are like warm blankets on the soul!!! Everygreen Springs is the PERFECT winter/holiday read, but its such a great story that it should be enjoyed anytime throughout the year!!! I can't wait to read what's next in Haven Point.

This is a series and Everygreen Springs is #3, it works GREAT as a standalone. But honestly I LOVE this whole series and it's so much fun to know who's who. Happy Reading!!!

A perfect holiday romance, Evergreen Springs, exceeded my expectations. Revisiting the small town setting of Haven Point during the holiday season and all of it’s denizens made it so easy to fall right into this story and get swept away in the charm and magic of the holidays and RaeAnne Thayne’s romance.

I’ll be honest, I had a little bit of trouble with the main characters in this one at first. Devin is a very reserved, fairly regimented individual who was a little hard to connect with at first. Cole is an ex Rodeo Cowboy (a career choice the animal lover in me can not admire) and a parolee to boot. It didn’t take long though for me to check my reservations and let the past stay in the past (as Devin so admirably did) and soon both of these characters began to really grow on me.

Cole is now trying to save the family ranch, while harboring his pregnant sister Tricia and struggling with the new full time parenting upon the heels of the tragic death of his ex wife.

Devin steps in and shows how big her heart and that of Haven point is. She finds herself drawn to Cole despite her reservations and can’t help but feel a pull to his children who’ve so recently lost their mother. She makes it her mission that they have a real special Christmas…and from there the magic just happens.

This is a really heartfelt and warming tale with a great mix of personal challenges, second chances, familial issues and resolutions and of course heartwarming romance. And it all takes place during the most magical time of the year in an amazing small town setting that will charm the mitten off you.

I’d been looking forward to Devin’s story and her Happily Ever After and was so happy that she found it with Cole. You will be too. My only regret was that we didn’t actually get to share Christmas day with Devin, Cole and the kids…

Don’t hesitate to pick this one up.

Save it for a chilly afternoon and curl up with a mug of cocoa and Evergreen Springs…I promise it will warm you right up:)

Haven Point is a small town where everyone knows everyone else, they help each other out and are willing to support each other. RaeAnne Thayne writes about strong men and women who are not perfect. They are trying to overcome something in their past whether illness or lifestyle choices. They are, however, all willing to step up if they are needed.

Devon is a family practice doctor in Haven Point who sometimes works in the Emergency Room. Cole is a horse trainer and rancher who has suddenly become a single father when his ex-wife is killed in a car accident. He is way out of his comfort zone. Devon and Cole meet in the ER when he brings his sister in pregnant with twins and she has fallen. Devon offers to help with the children and suddenly finds herself with deep feelings for Ty and Jazmyn and Cole. Cole doesn't think this can work and pushes Devon away.

I laughed, I cried and I wondered how people could be so dense but most of all, I could not put it down!

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.

Cole Barrett is a single father with a sordid past. His ex-wife has recently passed away leaving him to suddenly be a full time father while he’s also struggling to get his life on track and his ranch turned into a successful business. When his very pregnant with twins sister who has been visiting takes a tumble he rushes her to the ER where they meet the young doctor Devin Shaw.

Devin knew Trisha when they were growing up and considers her a friend so when she hears of her brother Cole’s struggles and knows Trisha will be on bed rest she decides to pitch in and do something for the struggling little family. Devin puts out a call to the helping hands group of Haven Point and soon has a bunch of meals to deliver to the Barrett’s but when going out she can’t help but volunteer to spend more time with the two grieving children and soon finds herself falling in love with them and their father.

I’ve really enjoyed all of the Haven Point books that I’ve read so far but this one just not quite as much as the first two in the series. I think for me, while I enjoyed Devin’s character immensely and her helping others spirit, I just found myself struggling to connect to Cole for most of the story. He seemed so distant to me which is what his character is meant to be but it’s hard to really root for him when I don’t feel much of his personality stood out either. Also, Devin admits that she wants to fix everyone in the book. While this makes her a lovely soul who enjoys helping others it also makes me question the idea of a relationship starting off on her wanting to “fix” Cole and his problems.

Still overall a lovely book set in Haven Point, a small community where everyone cares about each other and what seems would be a beautiful place to live. It’s very hard not to enjoy the overall atmosphere and warmth in this series. This one takes place right before Christmas so you get to enjoy reading all of the holiday warmth and activities associated with the season in this lovely town.

On duty in the Lake Haven Hospital emergency room, Dr Devin Shaw hears a commotion. She checks it out and finds the patient is a friend from high school, Tricia Barrett. Tricia has been brought to the e/r by her brother Cole. This is a serious situation with Tricia being 34 weeks pregnant with twins and now has fallen on ice. Cole hates hospitals ever since his mothers death in one around Christmas time when he was 11 years old. To top it off, his father, Stan, abandoned both he and his sister. Now later in life, Cole's father lives on the ranch property. Cole tells himself he does not care about Stan, but he does. Cole has already been challenged with taking care of his ranch and his 2 children he gained custody of recently when his ex wife died in a car crash. Topping it off, the maternal grandmother is talking custody fight. Tricia , separated from her husband Sean, came for what was to be a temporary visit. Now suffering from a severe sprain, she is having contractions. She is put on bed rest and given medication to stop the contractions.

Though Cole thinks Devin is pretty, he also thinks she is too young for the position she holds at the hospital e/r. Devin thinks Cole is a sexy cowboy. After finding out the history of his gaining custody of his children, she has great empathy. Devin helps out by having meals made for the family, to helping the children make snowmen and decorate for Christmas. Cole is touched by her kindness. Cole's ranch has mineral hot springs and Devin would like to bring some of her patients there for the healing properties. Cole says no. He weakens and ........does he change his mind? Are Tricia's twins delivered safely? Is there reconciliation between Cole and Stan, and Tricia and Sean? Will Devin and Cole have a Merry Christmas and a future together?

I always find myself invested in RaeAnne's characters. They are not perfect but they are interesting and have compelling personal stories. This is a great holiday romance! You will not be disappointed.

It's almost Christmas in Haven Point, Idaho when rancher Cole Barrett brings his pregnant sister, Tricia, into the emergency room after she takes a fall on the ice. And who should happen to be the doctor on duty that day but beautiful Dr. Devin Shaw.

Cole has everything Devin wants in a man, including two children and Devin ends up helping Cole get his house in the Christmas spirit.

Snowmen, Christmas trees, a puppy, a hot spring, a boat parade - all seem to work together to bring these two lonely people together.

I liked the hero/heroine of this Yuletide tale. Both have problems to overcome and they fight their mutual attraction and that was part of the fun.

The ending was rather abrupt. I would have liked to read an epilogue tying loose ends up. But this was still a sweet story and I enjoyed it.

NOTE: I received this book from HQN Books through Net Galley in exchange for my honest review.

A Christmas book by RaeAnne Thayne, allow me just a moment revel in my glory for a moment here. I love Christmas stories and RaeAnne Thayne is one of my very favorite authors. To say that I could not wait to read this book would be an extreme understatement. Evergreen Springs lived up to every glorious expectation that had. Of course I don't think I have ever been let down my a RaeAnne Thayne book. This talented lady knows how to write a small town romance story.

I remembered Devin Shaw from the previous book in this series. I already had a small connection with her so it did not take long for me to form a bond with this strong, independent, intelligent, so kind hearted lady. She loves her job and takes her responsibility to heal very seriously. She is kind to her patients and takes time to listen to their problems whether they meet in her office, the hospital, or may be the grocery store. I loved that about Devin she knows everyone and cares for them all.

Cole Barrett has a troubled past that weighs him down with heavy baggage. He loves his kids and I admired that quickly. He is doing his best to help his kids deal with a tremendous loss and they are all getting to know each other. Cole maybe just a tad bit, stubborn may be a good word. He's has a kind heart that shows with his and kids and his sister. He keeps to himself and does what needs to be done.

Devin and her kind heart step in to help Cole with the kids. She's great with the kids and pretty darn good with Cole too. They have an instant attraction but they both try to fight it. There is plenty of drama as these two get to know each other and find deeper feelings than either of them anticipate being there.

I love stories with kids because they add so much. Jazmyn is a sweet little girl that tends to put up a wall of harsh words and a "I don't care" attitude to deal with her loss and the changes in her life. Ty is the sweetest little boy. He opens his heart and trust to anyone that is kind to him. These two really do add a nice touch to the story line and certainly touched my heart.

Ms. Thayne has written yet another perfect small town romance Christmas story in my book. She has the right mix of emotional issues, romance, friendships, family issues, and the unconditional love of families. There is drama and conflict.

I love series because I get a chance to see all my "friends" from previous stories. It was great to "see" everyone in Haven Point and enjoy all the great events of the holiday season. This is a wonderful small town to "visit". Everyone is caring and kind to each other and strangers alike. They are there for each other when someone is in need.

Evergreen Springs is the third book in the Haven Point Series. However I think it will stand alone just fine. I don't think you would feel like you were missing too many pieces if you start here. The whole series is wonderful though. If you love a great small town romance written with a lot of heart then you really should check out RaeAnne Thayne's books. She does a wonderful job of connecting me with the characters quickly and captivating my attention with a great storyline every time.

I was given the opportunity to read this fabulous book so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Evergreen Springs.

Evergreen Springs is a beautiful story of redemption, forgiveness and second chances. This latest release by RaeAnne Thayne is a heartwarming holiday romance that is sure to delight old and new fans of the wonderful Haven Point series.

Devin Shaw is a caring and compassionate doctor who wants to fix every problem she encounters. So when she meets rancher Cole Barrett and his two adorable children Jazmyn and Ty and realizes they could use some short term assistance, she is quick to volunteer her help. She is immediately drawn to the taciturn cowboy but he is very closed off and reluctant to accept outside assistance. The two strike up a deal and Devin slowly but surely works her way past his formidable defenses. But will Cole’s inability to forgive himself for past mistakes ruin their chance at happiness?

Nothing much ruffles Devin’s calm demeanor. She is incredibly patient, cool under pressure and positively radiates serenity. All of these characteristics make her absolutely the perfect person to help Cole and his two children. Without knowing anything about the family except they need help, she swiftly reaches out to her sister ( who also happens to be the town’s mayor) and together, they come up with a plan of action to provide them assistance. Stepping in to help care for the grieving children is a little bittersweet given her circumstances, but Devin has such a big heart that it is impossible for her not to care for them. She is never put off by Cole’s gruffness or aloofness and she never quits trying to convince him to stop letting his past define him.

Cole is completely out of his depth with his kids but there is never any doubt how much he loves them. He has a very troubled past and while he has completely turned his life around, he refuses to forgive himself for his transgressions. Although he is very devoted to his sister, Cole stubbornly refuses to let his estranged father back into his life. He tries to distance himself from Devin but she slowly makes him realize that his children’s needs are more important than his self-imposed isolation. Cole gradually opens up to her but because he continues to define himself by the man he used to be, he pushes her away as their feelings for one another deepen.

An uplifting story of healing, Evergreen Springs is also a sweet romance that is heartfelt and engaging. The characters are complex and appealing with realistic shortcomings and believable issues to overcome. This captivating addition to RaeAnne Thayne’s Haven Point series is a thoroughly charming novel that fans of small town love stories are sure to love.

I received a complimentary copy for review.

Cole Barrett is an overwhelmed single father who has only had custody of his 2 kids for a few months, after their mother was killed in a car accident. Six year old Ty is a super lovable little guy who just wants everyone to be happy. Eight year old Jazmyn has a big chip on her shoulder and doesn't want to live there. She's just waiting for the day that grandma will come to take her home with her.

Dr. Devin Shaw is the town sweetheart, having grown up there and spent her whole life there other than when she was away at medical school. When Cole brings his sister into the hospital with a sprained ankle and in premature labor with twins, Devin steps in to help keep Tricia's mind at ease while she's on bed rest and can't help him at the ranch. She gathers the community to help feed the kids, she babysits them while he's working with his horses, she even enlists her sister, the mayor's help in finding the perfect housekeeper to start as soon as possible.

Along the way, Cole and Devin each fight hard to control their attraction to each other. He thinks that even though he's a hard working man trying to make a life with his kids, that he's still defined by the wild guy he was back in his rodeo days. The hard partying, womanizer who can't even remember the bar fight that sent him to prison, just can't forgive himself for the past deeds that he's done and instead keeps to himself so the community won't feel the need to shun him.

Spending time with Devin brings out a side of Cole that he doesn't show with anyone else. He laughs, he goes to town functions, he lives! When Cole panics about what he's feeling for Devin and tries to push her out of his life, will she listen? And will he be able to let her go so she can be with someone better than him? Devin loves him, but she doesn't know if she can trust in what she thinks he feels for her too.

I love revisiting Haven Point. This is the third book in this series but it can be read as a stand alone. I've been waiting to read Devin's story. I love a rough and tough cowboy and Cole fit the bill quite well.

Cole has his hands full with recently getting custody of his son, who just wants everyone to be happy, and his daughter, who has a chip on her shoulder because Haven Point is the last place she wants to be, after the tragic death of his ex-wife in a car accident. On top of that his sister, who is pregnant with twins, has come to stay him while she deals with trouble in her marriage.

Cole meets Dr. Devin Shaw when he has to bring his sister to the hospital after she falls and sprains her ankle.

As the story progresses Devin finds herself drawn to Cole and telling him the secret that she has been keeping from everyone. She does what she does best and helps Cole. She rallies the people of Haven Point to help as well including her sister Mayor McKenzie Shaw. She never imagined she'd fall in love with this rough around the edges ex-con cowboy.

Cole didn't want to fall in love with anyone as he felt he didn't deserve it but there was just something about Devin that he was drawn to. He found himself 'living' when he was around her.

During the most magical time of year love blooms and we have the start of new beginnings. I love Christmas stories but they are extra special when they show the healing of two broken hearts as they become one.

Can't wait to revisit Haven Point again.

RaeAnne Thayne has a way of totally involving the reader in her books. When I'm reading one of her books, I feel like I'm right there in the town with the characters and I have a hard time putting the book down until I'm finished. Dr. Devin Shaw is on duty at the local hospital when Cole brings his very pregnant sister into the ER after falling on the ice. He has in tow his two children, of which he recently got custody because his ex-wife was killed in a car accident. Devin is immediately drawn to the single dad and his children. She can see that a lot of struggle is going on and she wants to help. After they leave, she contacts her sister, who is the mayor, and arranges for some meals to be collected and she takes them to Cole the next day. He is shocked that the community would do something like this for him. He feels he's just a washed up, ex-rodeo jock who used to live there with his grandparents when he was younger and feels uncomfortable with people helping him. And so it goes....Devin continues to help Cole with his children, with Cole's self-esteem, with forgiveness towards his father and in return, she finds purpose in her life again. She is also hiding a part of her past from Cole. Two unlikely people come together in this book and have a relationship that is so perfect! I loved it! Cole's sister's situation with her husband was another part of the book I loved! AND, Cole's father. So many familial relationships in this book that touch the heart..... especially Cole's interaction with his children. I highly recommend this book. It's a great book for the holidays too. Be sure to have a tissue handy....you will shed a few tears!

EVERGREEN SPRINGS CHRISTMAS ROMANCE

Evergreen Springs (Haven Point)
Christmas romance is brewing in Evergreen Springs between a single father of two children and a doctor. The children play a large part in the book also. The affection towards the children seems to enhance the romance. Cole lives on a ranch, named Evergreen Springs, which he inherited from his grandmother.

Picking this book up from the bin of free books at the library introduced me to this author. Otherwise, I would never have come across this novel. Evergreen Springs is the third book of the Haven Point series by RaeAnne Thayne. I have not read the first two books in the series (Snow Angel Cove (Haven Point Book 1) and Snowfall on Haven Point (Hqn). However, after reading the book, I did not feel that it was necessary to read them to understand the events happening in this one.

SYNOPSIS OF EVERGREEN SPRINGS

Cole meets Devin in the emergency room when he brings in his pregnant sister for a sprained ankle. Devin is immediately attracted to Cole and enthralled by his children, who lost their mother a few months prior. She wanted to see him again to get to know him better. Therefore she created a way by asking the people from their small town to help a widowed father in need by cooking homemade dinners for Cole. Haven Point residents liked Cole and enthusiastically prepared cooked meals to help the family. She then delivered the food to him at his house and stayed the whole day helping with the kids while he worked on his business. A Christmas romance is about to begin. The story doesn't focus on just the romance. It is more about the family where Cole needs someone to help take care of his kids. And Devin desperately wants to fill that role.

There are other characters in the book, including Cole's father, helps to keep the interest of the reader with more story lines. Cole does not like his father very much, but he has to put up with him because he inherited a small house on the ranch too. Stan is an important character in the book which has developing relationships with Cole, his grandchildren, and Devin.

The author develops the characters enough for the reader to care about them and to know their personality. This way the reader is rooting for more good things to happen with other characters than just the romantic couple.

MY REVIEW

Evergreen Springs was enjoyable from beginning to end. I loved the romance building between Cole and Devin intensifying throughout the book. It didn't happen quickly. Another element which captured my interest was the development of relationships between Devin and the other characters, creating a more complex and exciting story.

I thought Devin was acting like the children's mother too quickly, before spending any time with Cole. Other than meeting briefly in the emergency room, Cole and Devin have not spent any time together. Then she brings him food one day and spends the whole day at his house playing with the children and decorating their Christmas tree. Bonding with Jazmyn and Ty was her priority since she loves children. But is is too much Devin acting as if she is the mother the very first day. She took over Cole's children and the house. After getting over that, the book was good.

Events throughout the book emphasize Christmas, so it is best to read this book during that time of year.

Like all of RaeAnne Thayne's books, this is another good story with lots of emotions and issues that need to be addressed. This author writes good stories about people going through some serious issues. Cole is a rancher who is ex-rodeo rider, ex-con, and ex husband with 2 children. He meets Devin, the town doctor and doesn't think they could ever work out because he doesn't think he deserves someone like her. Throw in the 2 adorable children, his father who gives him serious grief and the plot thickens. Devin is a very strong independent person and loves to help people and wants to help Cole and his children through the Christmas season. He takes her help reluctantly because he tries to distant himself from her as his feelings for her deepen each time he sees her. Evergreen Springs is a good Christmas story with characters that are loveable. I highly recommend this book.

RaeAnne Thayne's books are much along the line of Debbie Macomber's books. There are small town settings and character's who's lives need a little work to get to that happy ever after. This third book in her Haven Point series add in the lovely time of Christmas.
In this book we stroll into the lives of Devin Shaw, a physician who's past with cancer haunts her, and Cole Barrett. Cole is a struggling single father who is trying to come to terms with the requirements of fatherhood to the son and daughter that he's had for a mere two months since his ex-wife died, and the responsibility of running a ranch. His son is a sweetie, but his daughter is a little difficult to deal with.
The book is packed with interesting characters and the wonderful sights and scents of Christmas. I can feel the excitement of the children as they watch the decorated boats go by in the parade. I'm still picturing in my mind the group of older people Devin takes up to the hot springs on Cole's land, and them climbing in and out in the crisp December air. Of course, there are also the aches and pains and joy of falling in love! A great Christmas read for sure!

this is my first book into the Haven Point series. I have to say I will be looking for the rest! It has it all: a man trying to overcome his past, kids that need him, a father he hasn't forgiven, pregnant sister that leaves him in a lurch and a charming doctor that comes to his rescue.

Cole Barrett is trying to adjust to a new reality of being a full time dad to his two children after their mom dies in crash. Devon Shaw is a doctor who happens to be working the emergency room when he brings in his sister after she slips and falls. Devin has her own ghost to chase.

These two broken souls dance around each other and in the end finally come to the conclusion that together they are better than apart. The story does have a few slow spots but picks back up relatively quickly. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to getting the rest of the series!

In this heartwarming story about love, letting people in and forgiving yourself, Devin Shaw and Cole Barrett collide head on. Dr. Shaw is humble, giving and friendly. With Christmas coming, his sister in the hospital about to give birth to twins and fighting his attraction to Devin, Cole is out of his element. He makes a deal with Devin about using his mineral spring in exchange for her helping his children with Christmas decorating. He knows this is a huge mistake, but he can't stop himself when he's around Devin,
