The Dark Light of Day

T. M. Frazier keeps putting out amazing stories about love that brings a person from their lowest to their highest. Her stories are about real love and I'm thankful that I get to enjoy every second of it through these characters eyes.

There are a lot of books competing for your attention but The Dark Light of Day is a must-read! Gritty, sexy, rough, heartbreaking, but uplifting and yes, romantic, Abby and Jake will get under your skin, and you won't soon forget them. Abby has had a hard-knock life and is beaten down at every turn. Jake is sexy and dangerous but there's a lot more to him than meets the eye. These two battle almost insurmountable odds and the author's writing will keep you frantically turning the pages until you finish. Loved the conclusion to this book. I adore this author and can't wait for her next book, King.

Shel: I LOVED THIS NOVEL. LOVED IT. The writing was fantastic. The words, Courtney, the words. I could gush lots. The story was compelling and I had lots of OH MY (edit)! moments. I'm betting that Courtney cried maybe once?!!!

Court: You know what? I didn't! It's a miracle right! But *mumbles* I came really close. Even though I didn't ugly cry...it was still an incredibly emotional story. I mean, look, Shelley is even using shouty caps! WHAT! That's right. The writing was immediately enthralling and this is a DEBUT NOVEL! WHAT! Yeah. I thought that too. It is a ridiculously well written story that sneaks up on you without you even knowing what hit you. And now I'm shouty caps'ing you...so basically you need to read this book!

Shel: I love Jake and Abby. They're both so dark and unapologetic for their darkness. Jake is grappling with some bad stuff but if it were a contest, he'd lose. Abby had some major (edit) up (edit) happen to her in this novel. I gasped at some scenes..and really, I don't do that. I'm not going to say I was shocked but I was hurt, pained, distraught, freakin' angry beyond belief..livid, really at some of the horrors she lived through. So, yeah, I love these two when they are together. They are raw and hard and vulnerable all at the same time. Good stuff.

Court: Girl couldn't catch a break. At all. It was insane the things that happened to her. But I never felt pity. I never felt sorry for her. She made her reality for herself. And you just knew if she was thinking something was too good to be true...it probably was. Abby's journey is raw, emotional and shocking. It is difficult to read, but so amazingly well written that I could not look away. I read it so fast, it was ridic.

Shel: I can see why this wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but I've been leaning towards darker things lately and this had a nice balance of dark, light, and pretty, honest, and raw prose. I enjoyed every single word of this novel. Every word. I have HUGE, MAD LOVE for this writer and I'm not ashamed to say that I'll snap up everything she writes. I loved it that much. What a storyteller. I think I have a new crush...

Court: I am with you on this new girl crush. THIS is another perfect example of why we love to read. THIS, sure is very dark and twisty and OH MY GAH did that really just happen....but it is so real. It is much more real to life than some of the dark things we've read. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but reading about the people who look for the sunshine anyways...makes me cry while writing a review thinking about them. How's that for a revelation?

This book could be overwhlemingly amazing, but it fell short in my eyes. Here is why.... I need to feel the characters fall. I need to have a bit of angst and chemistry build up. There wasn't really any of that present here. They met and a day or two later they are connected. If there had been more build-up there I would have rated this five stars.

This book shows that some people feel like they were put on this earth to take all the pain for the rest. Does that make sense? It does to me. But I would've suggedted a word or two about the fact that abuse of this kind happens everyday to women/girls. Not many survive. But this might show an optomistic view of what they're healing could look like? Not sure. To some it is neverending.

This book is dark and dirty and absolutely, amazingly, well written. Though the characters are not the usual type of pairing, they work beautifully together. The author manages to carve out love and care and romance out of darkness and abuse and ugliness.

Where to start? I freaking loved this book - I didn't really know what to expect going in, but what I got was a raw, heart wrenching tale of two lost souls that find solace in one another... or do they?

It wasn't an easy read at times, but it was the kind of read you can't put down because you're so sucked in and dragged along with the characters. I definitely look forward to reading more from TM Frazier!

Wow, I enjoyed this book! It is a brilliantly written dark and gritty story that I found very exciting! I couldn't help thinking that another completely brilliant writer, Kurt Sutter, might say, good job! This is not your typical romance by any means, but if you enjoy TV shows like Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad and The Sopranos, you'll find this to be a page turner for sure. Sometimes it is just so fun for me to read fiction like this and love what is supposed to horrify me!

This book is awesome! Truthfully I'm not done with the book yet but I just had to say what a great story this is. I'm grateful that there are three more books to read. I've never read this kind of book and I'm thourghly enjoying it. I am emotionally invested in the characters.

I have mixed reviews about this book. Mainly because I did like the two main characters and the chemistry between them. I just found it hard to believe that after Abby when through all that trouble to document things that she would be so quick to abandon that plan and being a woman, if that happened to me, I pretty sure I would forgo my pride for restitution. I did like the ending however, but never been a huge fan of time lapse books. All and all I thought it was pretty good.

This book was phenomenal. Amazing. I'm mad at myself for having it on my kindle for so long. This was the kind of book that made you stay up late and neglect everything just so you could find out what happened, but also never want it to end. It was gritty, raw, angsty, and just..... Wow. This is in my top reads of 2015 for sure. Can't wait to read more from TM Frazier.

I loved the details of the characters even the hard experiences of their young lives didn't deter my interest. I could easily feel the emotions because the author explained them so vividly and with crisp dialogue. Such a crippling coming of age drama that rises above the cruelty when a couple teach each other the way forward. By giving love and respect to each other they overcome their parents failings and move towards a better life. Such a well written story that touches the heart strings........

I LOVED everything about this book! From the gritty story line to the relatable characters I was drawn in from chapter one. I couldn't put this book down and when the story ended I had tears in my eyes. It was like being on an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to end. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a dark romance with a happy ending. The Dark Light of Day was one of the best books I have EVER read and can not wait for the next one.

But the love they shared; two damaged souls healing each other and proving love and a guy who would take someone out for you is enough in the end!!! Oh and the hot and steamy way they show that love for each other....Aaaaaah couldn't get enough ?

This is definitely a dark read. A deliciously dark read that I would happily read again. I read the sample to this book and was completely hooked. My only complaint is that it was too short for my liking. I want more.

This sorry was sad,and inspiring,and had it all. I wanted to cry when reading about their troubles. Then I was happy for them for finding each other. And I was disgusted about what had happened to them is such a sort life. But I was glad at the end to know Gee was part of both of them and That they were a happy little family. Two lost souls that created a Beautiful little soul.

I loved this book. While I saw Abby as completely damaged I didn't see Jake that way, with all the bad stuff that happened in his past & his job he knew who & what he was. He handled his business & took care of those he cared about. He could have been a complete douchebag but he was someone I really found myself liking. He was just who Abby needed.

What an awesome story of redemption .through out this story the author takes you on a journey of fear,unloving parents and the bringIng. Together two dark souls into the light. This story isn't for the faint of hearts . I simply loved it
