The Mane Event (The Pride Series Book 1)

Found a new author and series . I love shifter books and this author gives just the right combination of series and hilarious . I especially like a book that catches me off guard and I laugh out loud.

I love this series. Shelly laurenstons book are a must read. This whole series is funny and romantic. I re read these books all the time. All the characters are great . I love how they all tie in together with the other books and series.

Love all Shelly Laurenston's books but, her Pride & Pack books are by far my favorite. Her shifters have the personalities to go along with the animals they shift too. Full of humor, great sex and a great story line.

Love shapeshifer books finally a different one without just werewolfs but believe able characters.

A very intriguing book, very funny, with lots of energy and magic, highly involvente as well as the books that followed. I recommend it to anyone, it is worth reading the whole series, a book that really holds your attention.

content and violence then this book line is NOT for you Although with material books you can skip those parts unlike ebooks ( you could skip them in ebooks but a lot of button pushing or swiping to get past that and you might go to far then have to go back so on so forth) I hope this helps Happy reading!!

I really liked the first story - Christmas Pride = 5 stars. Very much a page turner. 2nd story - Shaw's Tale was also good - 4 stars. Liked this story but charcters Brendon/Rhonda did not have the same punch for me that Mace/Dez did.

Characters very funny and really enjoyed the were world that author created.

Would highly recommend.

Was soo happy when I found this book in hardcover and it wouldnt cost me a million dollars!! lol. Shelly is going to sign so wanted to be sure got asap, and I did! very happy with condition and overall very satisfied customer! thanks!!

I bought this book after reading some of the reviews and have to say, it was very good. Not only was it steamy but there was an actual plot! It even had secondary characters that I really liked and hope to read their stories in the future. I know that doesn't sound like a lot to ask for, but lately it seems like you have search for a book that contains all of that. So if you are looking for a hot romance with some actual character, this book is for you!

With many synops already written, I'll make my review brief. Note: This book is comprised of two short stories by the same author.

I loved Laurenston's sense of humor. She literally had me busting up and laughing. Few authors are this much fun to read.

I was very disappointed when, half way through the first story, sex took over and everything else was drowned out. Not only were there several chapters in a row of nothing but the h/h having sex, thinking about sex, wishing they were again having sex, imagining having sex..., the language was vulgar to the point of distraction. Not once did the couple "make love" or even "have sex". It was always "f---ing". Truly, I've never seen that word used so many times in one book. After several chapters of it, I started to skim pages so I could get back to the actual story.

With Laurenston's ability to delight a reader so much with her humor, the overwhelming vulgarity and abundance of sex scenes are a waste of her talent. During the first half of the first story, I was sure I'd be coming back on the store to order more of her books. After the second half, I didn't even want to read the second story in this book.

This book is delightful! The characters are wonderful, the story interesting, and the dialogue is so funny it had me laughing out loud all the way through.

My favorite quote is when Mace said to his friend Smitty: "You admit nothing. Deny everything. Demand proof. Did you learn nothing in Boot Camp?"
