I recommend everyone to read this book! The story, the writing, the characters were all amazing. I love how the main character struggles through everything in a very realistic way. I connected with the characters and love how the relationship forms. I hate the instant love that many stories have, and I like how this was not the case. The writer doesn't rush in building a relationship, but sows it and makes it grow beautifully. To the writer I say: thank you for opening yourself in some form in this story, for we all have struggles and are slaves to theme. But, like your story, there is always hope and we should never give up. S.Ribarte

I have never written a review before but with this one I had to. It was a hard book to read because you gripped my heart with their despair. The budding of her hope was like the rays of sunshine. There then gone, there and gone until the sun finally shine again and spreads its warmth to her soul and she begins to believe. Thank you for the roller coaster ride and the tears.

Slave from Laura Frances is a breath of fresh air! Best dystopian novel I have read this year!! Frances does a great job using the prospective of the main character to acquaint you to her surrounds and take the journey through the book with her. When she is disoriented, the reading is more disoriented, etc. Great book!!

It had an interesting twist differing from books like Hunger Games. There are 3 overlapping worlds. Too much action in middle, felt like a Power Rangers show, but then got into a more complex plot. I plan to read the next one.

This is a well written story of loss, hope, family and love. All I need in a good book. Hannah is a wonderful character ready and eager to learn the truth about where she truly belongs. I can't wait to read book2.

Amazing story of enslavement, degradation, terror and the difficult road to regain trust, form friendships and develop strong bonds with unlikely allies. There is fear, uncertainty, betrayals and also deep personal relationships with touch of romance. Awesome!

You have to read these words that unforgivingly lay open our humanity and the strength of will this young girl forges to hold onto it. The discoveries she makes are lessons to all of us. Don't pass this one up!

Theres something gripping and horrifying about a story like this. You have to keep reading afraid that if you blink youll miss something important. Loved how the author stayed true to loss and reality but used it to build an incredibly strong character.

The storyline was awesome and loved the characters. The author really knows how to pull you into the story and make you feel like you're there. It's writers like her that make me want to read instead of watch a movie. Can't wait to read more from her...hope there's a book 2 in the works for this story!?

Frances's masterful and meaningful character development is flawless. She takes the characters through a journey in which the truth changes the way they think and ultimately, the way they live. Her menacing futuristic setting creates the perfect boiling point to make the character's actions believeable. Suspenseful and entertaining, a balanced perspective of good and evil, and a white hot romance make this book a must read! Looking forward to reading more from this author!

I really enjoyed this dystopian novel. The worldbuilding was straightforward and believable without any of the quirks that sometimes make me question dystopian societies. In recent years, dystopian has become very inventive which can reduce credibility, but here the focus was more character based.
Despite the fact that Hannah wasn't a particularly active character (she reacted to the situation around her and was often carried along with circumstances) the internal development and changes of thought and belief more than made up for this. The book does a great job of showing how fear and loneliness can change to hope and friendship - and this process is the strength of the book. The first person narrative really does it justice.
The mild romance was subtle and tasteful and did not overshadow the plot, which is often a complaint of mine in YA dystopian.
Great read all round.

A little light on substance, and very quick moving, I still got totally hooked into the characters and the overall idea of the story. An interesting world. I’ll move on to book 2 with almost no hesitation, I want to see where the story goes.

Many novels are an entertaining read, but “Slave” not only leaves you wanting more, it gives HOPE. I am a book addict and I’ve read many dystopian novels (at least 100!)- this is one of the best. The characters felt immediately familiar and the relationships REAL. I will definitely be reading more of Laura Frances’ books.
Thank you Laura and may God continue to bless you and your family.

This book is truly amazing start to finish. The storytelling is phenomenal and on point! It’s sort of reminiscent of The Hunger Games in the best way possible. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!

I stumbled upon this amidst so many Kindle Unlimited offerings. The premise intrigued me. I was quickly absorbed from the first page. I'm so impressed with the depth of her writing, the description of emotions and feelings. I can't wait for the next installment and any other books Laura writes!

I liked the book. However, I sometimes found the main character annoying. She in always crying and weak. I also thought the author went into too many details about her sadness, crying, and pain etc. I loved the storyline and hope the next book builds the main character into something stronger.

Impessed and amazed that this was a debut book. The tension/fears of the people in this book are realistic. I like that not all of the "heros" survive and that first impressions can change. Hope this new author keeps writing.

Nice easy book, plenty of good spots to pause and easy to get right back into the story. Well written and flows well. However if you are a fan of this type of story it is a little predictable. Still, I will be reading the next one as I liked the way this one went and have a good feeling that the next one will be even better.
