This book is all about Mercy and Adam. Yes...they finally get married in a very surprising way. The honeymoon is even more interesting as Mercy learns more about her heritage and fights a huge monster with new found friends and possibly her father. Very interesting twist on the regular series. On to the next book!

In the genre of Urban (or more accurately, Modern) Fantasy, Patricia Briggs is becoming a super-star. I've read most of her books now, and her writing--always good--keeps improving. It was hard to put this one down!

This book is a departure from the Eurocentric mythos that surrounds the majority of Mercy & co's books. The threat is indigenous monster, and her chief allies are also native. Patty treats the native American mythology of the plains well, and wholly avoids a Disney ending. This book sets up some tensions for the next in the series, too. Fans will not be disappointed, and newcomers to the series will want to go back to book one--it isn't a stand-alone.

Wonderful. A bit long winded at times but overall well done. Fight scene was a little anticlimactic but still satisfying. Mostly happy to read about mercy and Adam together without any pack or fae distractions. I also enjoyed mercy's finally getting some closure over her father And coyote. Well done.

River Marked is the 6th book in Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson series and does not disappoint!! Excellent read from the first word to the last, with unpredictable plot twists through out the entire book, I highly recommend this series and all of Ms Briggs books!!

I wish Mercy were my mechanic! Seriously, what a great character surrounded by enough equally interesting characters that they had to have their own series. I enjoy all of Patricia Briggs work, but the Mercy books are by far my favorites. That said, River Marked is not, for me, the best in the series. I liked it and it faithfully continues the storyline, but I missed a whole bunch of the regulars who had little or no time in the book. This is just my preference. The author will tell the story as she deems best and I will be there to read it.

Well written (as all her books are) River Marked is a fast fun ride. I look forward to the seventh, as yet un-named.

I loved this book. I generally don't write reviews because writing down my views and impressions of books is not my strong point. But I had to add my most sincere praise of this most recent Mercy Thompson story. For me, it was just the perfect mixture of PNR and UF. I liked very much that we learn more about Mercy's native American background, and Coyote, who is a terrific addition to the series cast. I hope we see more of him. And the introduction of more walkers added to the storyline. And best of all for me, which I know was a down grade to some UF fans, the main story featured primarily scenes with Mercy and Adam. I am delighted with the development of a [...] heroine, in a solid monogamous happy marriage. I am in love with the idea that a happy couple can still have crazy, scary UF paranoramal adventures in an ongoing series. I soo hope that Patty Briggs continues this trend. I consider it a plus.
I don't have to have the happy couple be the focus of every plot and story, but I thought this was a great book, interesting storyline and a solid entry in the series.
I already look forward to the next book!!

Another great installment of the Mercy Thompson series. I really enjoy the ongoing character development, the integration of the timeline between this series and the Alpha/Omega series, and the love story between Mercy and Adam keep me coming back for more.

This book reads like Ms Briggs publisher is pushing her to produce more. It has many of the good qualities of the other Mercy Thompson novels, but just feels pushed. If I hadn't read the other books in this series it would probably rate one more star. Still having said that Mercy is an interesting character and the book is a good read.

Although I enjoyed this book overall, it moved a little slowly for me. The backstory on Mercy's heritage was great, as was spending time with Mercy and Adam as they began their married life and worked out the impact of that newness on their relationship. I missed the other characters, as well as the usual setting. I would rate this book a 3.5, rounded up for the great cover. :)

If you love books like sword of truth, anita blake, twilight, etc., and shows like Buffy, Angel, True Blood, etc., you will love this whole series. She needs to put out about 50 more books though, or write faster, or both. I get SO sad when I'm at the end of one of her books and have to wait for the next!

I love this book because it was mostly about Mercy and Adam for the first half and their honeymoon. The love they share and that special bond of theirs. Patricia Briggs writes well rounded characters. I'm looking forward for the next book in the series and I hope she continues this for a long time to come:)

I love, love, love the characters and world that Patricia Briggs has brought to life within this series. If you enjoy the works of Shannon Mayer, Ilona Andrews, Kim Harrison, Debra Dunbar, Karen Marie Moning, and Jim Butcher, I would highly recommend you give this series a try!

Patrica Briggs writes thoroughly engaging stories. Even her villains are good guys. Woman and men treat each other as equals and the reader is continually invited to examine their own concept of what it means to be human. There is just enough 'cliff hanger' at the end of each book to keep you going on to the next.

My wife and I both enjoy reading the stories that Ms. Briggs tells. This book, yet another in the series about "Mercedes who fixes Volkswagons," is an excellent read. We have found Ms. Briggs to be the kind of author that if you like one of her books, you will probably like all of them.

I was anxiously awaiting the release of this book but was disappointed. I love the Mercy Thompson series, but this one seemed a little bit too out there for me. I was also disappointed that there wasn't more focus on Mercy & Adam's relationship that wasn't directly related to the "mystery" they were trying to solve. Hope the next one is more like the earlier books.

But the various 'walkers' s descriptions were slim way to slim. Thunderbird? What? I needed more information about these walkers so I can understand their importance in the battle with the river demon.

I am glad to have finally gotten some action between Mercy and Adam. It was way overdue. I agree with other reviews that this did kinda feel like a short story but it was still a good read and can't wait for more. We finally get to learn more about Mercy being a "walker" and also about her real father which I also liked. This series is a must read.

I love anything Patricia Briggs does. She is one of my favorite authors. I have over thousands of books in my repertoire, and I have read her books many many times. In this particular book, Mercy finds out about her past while on her honeymoon. Lots of action, save the world type plot. Very enjoyable as is all Briggs' work.

I am addicted to the story, characters, and plot. Mercy is on her honeymoon when she is called to help defeat another fae bad guy. She risks her life and future with her honey, Adam, to help. All of the characters are present in the story even old coyote, the trickster.

This was a great read. Mercy stayed true to herself after marrying Adam, unlike some heroines who wallow in low self-esteem after getting into a committed relationship, she stays herself, strong. It was great to learn about Mercy's past and even more wonderful for her and Adam to spend time together. I cannot wait for the next book! I am hooked on the Mercy novels.

Finally, we find out more about Mercedes' Indian heritage. Once again, Patricia Briggs has delivered an entertaining read. It's not enough for Mercy to be juggling werewolves, vampires and fey, now she has to deal with Native American magic and it's avatars. Of course, Mercy manages to deal with it. She is one tough coyote.

This was another great installment in a series I love. I buy them from the store so I can get them when they first come out and I love coming home to find a book at my door ready to be read. Saving on the price isn't a bad deal either. I can't wait for the next story from Patricia Briggs.

I really enjoy all of Patricia Briggs books. From the start there is never a dull moment. The characters are all described just great. If you enjoyed Stackhouse by Harris you'll really enjoy these books.

Love this story, love this author, love the new characters. Mercy Thompson is what every heroine dreams about becoming.....and she stays so down to earth through all the stories in this series. Excellent book.

Definitely not disappointed! River Marked is a great story, with some interesting back ground into Mercy's heritage.
As with the other books in the series, the story is fast and easy to follow.
I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This series is really great and I look forward to each installment!!! There is no one quite like Mercy!!!! I love that her trouble comes because she is trying to care for loved ones and not just attracing evil per se. I just hate to see her suffer so much!!!! She is very kick-ass though!!!!
