this is the second book in the Boston fire series by author shannon stacey. This is a sweet low drama light hearted feel good kind of read. The love story is between Rick and Jessica. Rick is an true alpha fire fighter. He is sexy as sin, and a true hero at heart.
Jessica is smart sexy and brave. This book can be read as a stand alone book the story is solid enough for that. When you want a well rounded romance with heat this is the book to pick up

I really enjoyed this book. It is nice and pleasant without all the suspense that so many romances seem to have today. It was just a nice pleasant read. You liked both the characters who are trying to do right by the elderly couple. It was fun and easy to read and kept my attention. The writing was good. It's fun to read about fireman, and I like that it is part of a series. It worked well as a standalone book, though. I would recommend it.

I loved this book! I have recently discovered Shannon Stacey through the Kowalski series and when this book came up I couldn't wait to read it. Shannon was able to move to a different series and freshen up her writing, while still giving us the romance we know and love.

If you are a lover of romance novels, and are looking for a fresh author to read, this is the book for you!

The best thing about firemen themed romance novels is that they make you feel all warm inside. While their job is to put out the fire, they seriously know how to heat you up. And heating ladies up is one of Rick’s best qualities. He’s never had any problem with women, though whenever he wanted more they’d gladly tell him he’s not “marriage material”. So getting close to his landlords’ granddaughter who lives across the other side of the country might not be the smartest idea.

Though we all know when it comes to love, the heart rules. This is the same for Jessica. While she’s technically there to get to know her grandparents, and helping them out with their affairs, the upstairs tenant is a nice distraction.

Loads of scenes that will make you feel all warm, and fuzzy inside. Between Jessica getting to know her grandparents, hanging out with Rick, and all the firefighters, Controlled Burn has all the elements for an excellent winter read. Fun, hope, family, friends, new love, hockey, and Boston winter, you just can not go wrong with this one.

*I received a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*

Solid entry in Stacey's Boston Fire series. Maybe not the most absorbing or unputdownable but highly enjoyable. Solid, established characters who were confident in themselves and their abilities before and after meeting one another (in other words, they didn't need each other to survive but meeting one another added to their lives). More lighthearted than I expected.

An unsuspectingly sweet and enticing novel. Controlled Burn is a fantastic read - a short quick adventure that is perfect for a relaxing weekend read. Rick and Jessica burn up the sheets and create a wonderful world that will draw you in an get you invested in their lives and the lives of the secondary characters as well. A well-worth-your-time read!

I love a fun romance that has the characters having some problems but getting together. This was neat also because I don't know anything about firefighters so I got to learn about them as well. The story was fast paced, didn't leave you bored in spots, has a hot hero and a sweet heroine, good friends, action - I really enjoyed reading it.

Boston Firefighter Rick is enjoying his life when Jessica Broussard comes calling . Two strong characters find love while helping people they love find a new life. Rick is a hot firefighter looking for the perfect girl and Jessica has lots of family baggage and lives for away but the two are meant to be together. A hot romance-

It was well-written and had a reasonable plot with fairly well-developed characters. (It would have been just as enjoyable without the blow-by-blow descriptions of the few sexual encounters.) The end was quite abrupt, leaving loose ends that I would have liked to see resolved.

Rick was captain of Boston Fire Ladder # 37. Rick’s guys worked well with the guys from Engine # 51. They all worked as a team. There was a lady whom had called emergency fir department four times in six months. Rick had to figure out a way to gently discourage her from calling and using the fire department to try to get a date It wasted time and and money, also one day she may actually manage to burn her house down. The Broussards - Joe and Marie and started out as landlords for Rick but now were like family .Jessica was the Broussards unknown granddaughter her father David had been motified from the hospital when Joe had gotten hurt and ended up in the hospital.. David had told Jessica to take care of the problem and did not even call the hospital back. David had made his parents out to be someone Jessica wouldn’t want to know. Jessica worked for her dad and decided to go down to where her grandparents were since the Doctor would give her no information as she was not on the emergency call form. Jessica had never met her grandparents because of what her father had told her. Davis had told his daughter that his parents were crass, alcoholic, and had bad tempers when Jessica had been eleven. Jessica is immediately attracted to Rick but she lives and works on the West coast while he is on the East coast.
I didn’t love or hate this story. First the ending was a little quick. Thr romance between Rick and Jessica was a little slow to take off. This story just didn't click for me but others may enjoy it more as it is a sweet story and has a good plot.
