Debbie Macomber never ceases to amaze me with her imagination and creativity in all of her works that I have read. She keeps you interested and has a little bit of everything - romance, relationships, mystery - in her stories. I enjoy the fact that there is a sequel to the serial stories wherein you can see what happens to the characters in the next novel. Can't wait for the Heart of Texas Vol. 2 to come!!

Lonesome Cowboy is the first of the Heart of Texas series by Debbie Macomber. Since her parents were killed six years ago, Savannah Weston has done all she can to help her brother Grady in working to keep the Yellow Rose, the Weston family ranch, after their younger brother Richard stole their inheritance. Her one joy, especially as she has managed to turn a profit on it, is her cultivation of antique roses. When, against Grady's wishes, Savannah employs wrangler Laredo Smith to help with her roses, she finds herself more attracted to this man than any one before. But Grady is highly suspicious of Laredo, and is sure he will hurt Savannah. Richard returns to complicate matters even more, and Savannah is determined to go to the eerie ghost town of Bitter End to look for roses, despite warnings to the contrary. Macomber introduces residents the town of Promise Texas with this volume: some sweet characters, some feisty and some despicable ones. There's intrigue, happiness and heartache. The foundations are laid for several further books in the series: an enjoyable Macomber read.
Texas Two-Step is the second of the Heart of Texas series by Debbie Macomber. After the death of her father, Ellie Frasier's mother moves away and Ellie takes over the feed and supply store in Promise, Texas. Still in mourning, she appreciates the support of her lifelong friend, rancher, Glen Patterson. The irresponsible, debt-ridden Richard Weston appears to be courting Ellie, but is it really love, and should Glen be concerned for her? Surely he's not jealous, after all they are just friends! As Macomber leads us through the lives of the inhabitants of Promise, she does what she excels at, people and relationships. There are characters to like and to mistrust, the dialogue is realistic and the plot has some intrigue in the background of the main romance. The first marriage proposal is especially funny. The ghost town of Bitter End features again, and the characters for the next instalment are set up in this story. Another heart-warming Macomber read

Welcome back to Promise, Texas, a ranching community deep in the Hill Country. It's a good place to live and raise a family--and a good place to visit. Yes, there's a secret or two hidden beneath Promise's everyday exterior, but what town doesn't have its secrets?

Caroline's Child Who's the father of Caroline Daniel's child? Everyone in town wants to know, but no one's ever asked--or ever will. The people of Promise are protective of Caroline and five-year-old Maggie. They care. Especially rancher Grady Weston, who's beginning to realize he more than cares . . .

Dr. Texas They call her Dr. Texas. She's Jane Dickinson, a newly graduated physician from California who's working at the Promise clinic--but just for a couple of years. They call him Mr. Grouch. Cal Patterson was left at the altar by his out-of-state fiancée, and he's not over it yet. To bad Jane reminds him so much of the woman he's trying to forget. Also, if you missed reading Tino Georgiou's masterpiece--The Fates, go and read it.

I was a little disappointed in this series. It was one of Debbie's original. I have read most of her books and I have to say this is my least favorite. It didn't do anything for me. I put volume 2 and volume 3 on a wait list in library and I removed my name off of it. I didn't want to continue reading it. This is only my opinion on this.

I have read almost all of Debbie Mcomber's books. Somehow I missed this series of three when it first was published. It is true Debbie! Enjoyable with enough drama to keep the story interesting. The series of three books focuses on the people of Promise Texas and a ghost town nearby. Very good.

Debbie weaves a picture of a small town and ranches nearby with a cast of characters who delight your heart and soul. You feel as if you're there hearing them breath and love. No one else has the light touch that she has perfected. With the happy endings that you want yourself.

Super sweet romance, with just the right amount of trouble and heartbreak to make it flow. Great characters, that you root for (and yell at to get their act together) and enough drama to make it interesting. Enjoy!

As stated in the title, I am furiously frustrated! I began reading Debbie Macomber exclusively just about two months ago. I love her work and was pleasantly pleased to find that most of her "series" were old enough that I didn't have to wait months and months to be able to read each succesive book. I bought my Kindle almost two years ago and love how much it saves me over purchasing paper backs, both in money and in time shipping books. I am a voracious reader--often reading a book in 1 to 2 days on my weekends off. I've worked my way through the Cedar Cove series, the Dakota series and the Manning series. I'm now ready to move on to the Texas Hearts series--but what do I find?!? Texas Hearts 2 and 3 are available on Kindle but volume 1 won't be out until February 26th!!! Does that really make sense to anyone?!? Why can't they release the series in the order it was written???? Now I either chuck the whole idea of reading the series or I read them out of order!!! Totally infuriating and frustrating!!!

Two stories set in the town of Promise, Texas. In "Lonesome Cowboy", we see the betrayal of a family member, and the strength of a brother and sister in the aftermath. New love blooms, when a stranded cowboy is rescued by the sister and hired onto their ranch, amid the intriguing tales swirling about a hidden ghost town connected to the town's past.
In the second story, "Texas Two-Step", We see love bloom among old friends despite attempts to sabotage it, and more hints at the mystery of the ghost town.
