I had a little trouble at the beginning getting interested but then found the story moving along. It turned out to be good and I enjoyed it. It was a different approach to a story from the viewpoint of angels which was quite different from other books.

This book was sooooooo goood! It takes a special person to be able to write a book that gives the reader a chance to escape the everyday, and enter the world of pleasurable reading for a short while. The book is a wonderful read.

The Trouble with Angels (Harper Monogram)another gripping angel book. Debbie Macomber worked her magic & came up with a finish that the reader didn't expect. Wonderful ending!

This is the second book in the Angels Everywhere series. It is a year later, and the three mischievous, but well-intended angels- Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy, are back again. In the last book, Angels Everywhere, the three were sent to Washington state. In The Trouble with Angels, the trio head to Los Angeles to help Maureen- an angry divorcee, Paul- who is grieving the death of his wife, and Catherine- who has been praying and hoping for her grandson Ted to find a special someone.
I enjoyed The Trouble With Angels, just as much as I did the previous book. I would have to say that my favorite story was Maureen's. I could completely understand her anger towards her ex husband, Brian, who was a real piece of work. No wonder the woman was bitter! She really needed someone worthy who would break through those walls.
Paul's story was bittersweet. My heart really went out to him. While I have not gone through what he did, I have had those feels of helplessness, depression, and anger. I kept hoping that someone would reach out to him and really be there for him.
I really liked seeing all of these stories go full circle. And, yes, I have already started on the third story in this series, Touched by Angels. I am a bit hooked and will likely continue to read one or two of these stories long after the holidays are over. ;)

The Trouble With Angels is the second book in the Angles Everywhere series by popular American author, Debbie Macomber. Once again, Christmas is fast approaching and, against his better judgement, Archangel Gabriel sends three angels, Prayer Ambassadors Shirley, Goodness and Mercy, down to Los Angeles to deal with the desperate prayers of certain LA supplicants.
Karen prays that her mom, Maureen can stop hating her dad, Brian, even though he left them for someone new, and get on with her own life. Oh, and she’d like a horse too, if it’s not too much trouble. Shirley delights in this assignment, finding that Thom Nichols and his riding school might just answer both prayers.
Goodness is sent to Pastor Paul Morris, a widower who has been unable to deal with the grief of losing his wife to cancer. His friends and parishioners have flooded Gabriel’s prayer book, and Goodness sees this is a challenging assignment that will need some careful thought.
Mercy is sent to see the elderly Catherine Goodwin, who prays for the right partner for her beloved grandson, Ted. She believes that Joy Palmer, resident service director at her home, Wilshire Grove, is the right candidate, so when Ted turns up to visit with the gorgeous Blythe in tow, she may have to rethink. Mercy is quietly confident, though, that she can see this prayer answered.
Macomber gives the reader three separate, slightly Christmas themed, stories that are linked only by the Angels. They are sweet tales, mostly fairly predictable, although a twist or two keeps them interesting. The Queen of Feel Good keeps her title with this little collection.

I purchased this book along with two other "Angels" books by Debbie Macomber on audio CD. Sweet romance stories and lively enough to keep me awake in the car while driving. This book in particular touched my heart as it dealt with a woman who was dying of cancer and the pastor who was struggling to comfort her and her husband. I think the author was very "in touch" with the emotional struggles that come from a lose due to cancer or other devastating disease. If you enjoy meddling but loving angels, and "happily ever after" romance, this book, as well as the other two books in the series, are for you!

I just love all the mayhem and confusion that these angels cause. Can they fulfill their tasks before Christmas? Absolute joy to read. If you have never read any of this author's work, then I suggest you start with this. Humour, mayhem and romance. Terrific

Debbie MacOmber offers up a tantalizing array of stories for her readers in this anthology featuring Shirley, Goodness and Mercy--three angels who are apt to get into trouble whenever they visit earth.
From the tale of a Jewish girl who desperately wants a different life but is afraid to go against tradition, to a spunky inner city school teacher, to a rising star, this book has something for everyone.
Each angel has a woman to help. Each woman has her own unique story and problems. And each romance has a happy ending.
I highly recommend this book and would offer the rare comment that five stars isn't nearly enough to describe the heartwarming delight I felt upon finishing the last line in each of the three stories.
I tip my hat to Miss MacOmber for her talented storytelling capabilities and ability to involve my emotions until I laughed and cried.

Since I've always enjoyed any book by Debbie Macomber, I should have known better than to start reading "The Trouble with Angels" when I went to bed. I ended up staying up until 4am finishing it! Just could not put it down until I found out how each of the angel's assignment ended. Very touching tale of how little things can change peoples' lives in a very positive way. After reading this story, I was hoping that I had a Shirley, Mercy, or Goodness angel looking out for me.

Debbie Macomber is a talented writer. I couldn't put this book down until I finished. I enjoyed reading about the three angels dispatched to earth to answer prayers. It was at times predictable but still very entertaining. It was also encouraging and uplifting.

I purchase this book for a quick reading during the Christmas Season, and was not even through the first chapter and took offense to the Anti-Catholic Comment. So, that ended it for me and her books, I am an avide reader and felt she wrote well, but she should realize that her reading base just might include some Catholics! Since, there are one billion of us. She would benefit from being more sensitive to other faiths , so all can enjoy her books.

This book touched on subjects all of us will deal with. It made me think, laugh and feel a renewed hope. I wish the book had been a little longer. It seemed a shame to develop so many rich characters and then rush through their stories.
