Bobby Knight asks the only question in life that will change everything that you do. Why? People always say "things will get better" and "you will get 'em next time", but Bobby asks "Why?" Why will things be different next time? This book gives you a simple answer to why things will be different and it all depends on you.

This book brings about a different perspective, a different way to view situations. It is good in certain aspects, especially being a fan of college basketball and of Bobby Knight. Some readers may not draw the same inferences that I did which is what makes it interesting.

Makes a valid point with specific coaching examples through the eyes of a very successful college basketball coach, but contains too many filler type inspirational sayings which disrupt the continuity and after a while get to be annoying. On balance, it is worth reading for the creative guidance provided by a legitimate expert and the different vantage point regarding strategy.

I thought it was a book that used basketball references for business success, but there are few business references. It seems to be a coaches story of his career. However, even though I have no interest in basketball, it was interesting enough to hold me through the end. Some of his techniques can be extrapolated to business/personal applications.

Not an extraordinary book, but its a good choice to think in a different perspective than the common and accepted way of think. Probably you can read this book in less than a week and apply some of the concepts at work or at your daily life.

This title can be misleading. This is still a great book that is really a story of how to win by not making mistakes that will cause you to lose. As someone who has followed Bob Knight's career at Indiana, this was a fun read to see how he was thinking during his career at Indiana.

If the philosophy of "everybody gets a trophy" isn't for you, then this book is. The overabundance of positive reinforcement and unearned compliments is countered by Knight's approach that working hard, dedication, and focus on avoiding and eliminating mistakes and failures is what is deserving of reward. The focus on identifying ways that can derail your goals, or can give false hope, is the tenants of Knight's approach to success. From cliches (good and bad) to examples of how an overly positive approach to sports, work, and life can effect lead to failure, Knight uses sound advice and humor to promote the power of negative thinking.

Received the book in new condition and in the time frame I expected.
The book is fairly interesting as a coach and provide some insights into Coach Knight's thought processes, but probably has very limited beyond sports and athletics.

You can think what you want about Coach Knight as a coach but the leader, thinker, teacher, there is not many better. One of the finest coaches in our time and has left his legacy on countless others. Only coach better to me is John Wooden

Outstanding book! It is not a book about sports, but how to look at problems from a different point of view. It is a much more realistic way of looking at life, work, and how you interact with people.
