This was a good Christian cozy mystery. It is the second in the Cate Kincaid files. The first was Dying to Read which I enjoyed also. I was a little scared when I read that the dolls were life like and the victims. It ended up not being freaky. There were also human victims so Cate has her hands full with this case. There are some characters from the first book like Cate's boyfriend who is still not too happy with her job and the risks she takes. Her Aunt and Uncle are also still there. Her Uncle owns the detective business and he is okay with her being an associate now. There was a lot of funny in it too. It is not a super serious book. Recommended.

The storyline is different from any I've read before but it has just the right amount of mystery to keep you guessing as to who the murderer is and why. While it does move at a faster pace, you should not get lost or confused. The characters are wonderfully developed and my favorite, of course, is Cate. She tries hard to be a good Assistant Private Investigator but makes mistakes just like the rest of us. She is comfortable in her own skin (and flaming carrot red hair) and is not afraid of taking chances. Cate has a big heart and is willing to help anyone in need. This is a great book and a wonderful read.

Dolled Up to Die by Lorena McCourtney was the most recent book I read, and it was different from anything I have ever read, but I liked it. Cate Kinkaid is an assistant investigator for her uncle's company. Due to the number of murder cases in her town, Cate finds herself investigating a shooting of 4 victims...3 of which are dolls! Although Cate can seem a little ditzy, she is able to put the pieces together and solve the murder. Cate is a very likable character, and I cannot wait to read more books in the series.

Available July 2013 from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.

I first read Lorena McCourtney when she wrote the Ivy Malone mysteries. They reminded me of Mrs. Polifax, only a bit more modern, and I loved every one. All Dolled up to Die is a new series and is the second installment of a Cate Kindaid mystery. It is aimed at bit younger audience with a heroine who works for a private detective and has a computer geek boyfriend. This series is both edgy and full of humor. It starts with a dead body and soon their our more. Combine that with a wedding to pull off and suspects galore, you'll be rethinking who-done-it all the way to the end. Revell sent me the book to review.

Lorena McCourtney has outdone herself with her Cate Kincaid series. I have read every book available by Lorena and have enjoyed every one. Lorena has a gift for character development and Cate is a fascinating young woman struggling to become a private investigator. She makes mistakes but always comes out on top. Dolled Up to Die leaves the reader wanting more. I look forward to the next in the Cate Kincaid series.

A fun easy read. Christian fiction. No sex, There is a murder, but it isn't gory and detailed. Kept me entertained and guessing on who was the good guy and who was the bad guy. I would definitely read more from this author.
