This author has never let me down. I absolutely love this series. The continuity with these characters is remarkable and brings a level of approach you can feel. The story twists always surprise me and demonstrate the creative genius behind these works. 5 out of 5

Every book in this series is awesome. All could be stand-alone but getting to know the families is just too much fun to not read all of them. Wow. Just wow. I really enjoyed this book and the rides it takes you on. I can’t get enough. Read this series!

A must read in the Eagle Elite series! Chase... angry, betrayed and out for blood. Luciana is innocent about this life and there for a job. How everything is intertwined and truths are set free. Loved it. Highly recommend this book and series!

Finally Chase gets his true soul mate! I loved how Luciana was introduced in the book and how everything came together in the end! I also liked how Luciana stood her ground and is very different from Mil...she is perfect for Chase

Absolutely loved this book! Felt Chase's pain and understood his choice. However, Loved how he was saved by his true soul mate. Couldn't put it down until the end, but still wanted more. Well done, again, Rachel! I'm bowing down to you, for your ability to bring life to words and tell a story so captivating I can't get enough.

I felt the series started off weak, but Rachel has grown each character through the seties, and the writing improved drastically. I love each character and anticipate being in a book hangover when the series finishes.

Eulogy is the ninth book in the Eagle Elite series by one of my favorite authors, Rachel Van Dyken. I came into this series late in the game. I started with Enrage (#8) in this kicka- mafia series. So, I can say without a doubt that you can read them as standalone. In the beginning of the books Rachel gives us the rundown on the families. I will also say that I am glad I read Enrage so I can get the full story of why Chase is ready to go to war...
Betrayal. Chase knows it all to well. That is why his plan is to kill. Sixty lives even if it means he loses his own. His soul his gone. His heart is black. He doesn’t have anything to live for. She took it all with her. It’s been six months and his anger is only getting worse. He used to the funny one. He hasn’t felt a smile on his lips since that day he died with her. Not until she showed up. An innocent woman who wears pearls and headbands...
She has no idea what she has gotten herself into. Luciana was just a lawyer’s assistant when she was offered a job she couldn’t refuse. Now, she was living with a man who would kill her for just looking at him the wrong way. What he doesn’t realize is that she is intrigued. He is the most beautiful angry man she has even seen. She is scared of him just as much as she is attracted to him. She doesn’t get it herself but something inside is telling her not to run.
Chase and Luciana’s relationship is not full of heart, flowers, and rainbows. It’s full of threats, food, and heat. It’s a complicated time for them both. He wants to kill. She wants to save him. He wants to protect her while she wants to protect him. She didn’t grow up in this world but being thrown into it, makes you either sink or swim.
Will Chase get his revenge? Will she be able to show him that his heart still beats? That there is life after death?
I loved, loved, loved this book!! I never thought I would fall for a man who kills people but damn. I haven’t read all the books but all the men have something about them that makes me swoon. Even knowing that they can pull out their gun and shoot it without a second thought.
Overall...it’s a suspenseful, heated, emotional, and lethal book that pulled me in from beginning to end. If life didn’t get in the way I would had finished it in one sitting. The characters are strong. The story is addicting. The family is badass. I want more already!
Quotes:
His mouth had tasted like the best mistake of my life.
“S-!” I roared as she covered her face and stumbled back to the chair. “I’m so sorry! I was just trying to—never mind. Maybe this is a bad idea. Do you need an ice pack? Peas?”
“What are you doing in two weeks?”

While thinking about what I should write in this review, I thought I should check out my review of Chase's first book aka Entice. In my review, I wrote " Chase needed a girl who would love him with all her heart". The whole time I was reading Eulogy I realized that Mil hadn't given him her whole heart. Only a part of it. And it pained me. It made me wonder about all the couples in the series. Are they really in love? Are they as broken as Mil and Chase were? I am not sure about anything anymore when it comes to Eagle Elite. I hope the rest of the couples are safe. Maybe that's the reason I am hoping to see the series ending soon. I don't want anyone else to go through what Chase did. My poor baby was broken. He wasn't the Chase I knew and loved. He was a broken man whose only mission was to kill the De Langes and drink. He almost burned his house. His relationship with Mil had cracks and I never noticed them. I can't believe that Mil was acting the way we saw her in the flashbacks. I had a different image for her in my mind.
I was a little hesitant when I began reading the book. I kind of wanted Mil to come back and reveal that this whole thing was a plot to find some things out. I am still not over her betrayal. I was feeling numb the whole time I was reading this. Luciana is a good woman. I liked her, but unfortunately, I met her in the wrong book. This time I am sure that she is the one who is going to love Chase with all her heart. She will be there to chase the nightmares away (and no that wasn't a pun). I am glad I didn't cry in this book. I have been crying for the last couple of books.
The book wasn't bad. The problem is me and my weird feelings. I liked seeing Chase starting to become a version of himself that a mix of the man I knew and the man who had been through hell. Luciana is the opposite on Mil. She wears pearls and screams when she sees a mouse. She is not one of the bosses. She is a regular girl who has no idea what been with the mafia means. If I had met her before I would have definitely sung her praises because she brought a different kind of air to the series. I am looking forward to seeing more of her in the next books. Honestly, she is amazing. What she did in her mission to save Chase is not something I am used to seeing, but she gained the respect of everyone. She is the best part of the book.

Eulogy is the next book in Rachel’s Eagle Elite series. It is a mafia romance, so if you don’t like your romance with a heavy side of violence, this book is probably not the one for you. However, if you’ve never read these mafia books and are curious, I say, “DO IT NOW!!” I simply love this series! I would caution you that even though this is a standalone, you will most certainly understand the characters much better if you read the previous books.
The Families have been betrayed by one of their own. In some way, it broke them all. But it broke Chase the most. And he’s on a fast spiral down to absolute rock bottom. The Families have to figure out how to save him, and themselves, before it’s too late. Enter Luciana. She has no idea that she’s walking into the Mafia when she accepts the offer from Nikolai to be the new lawyer for The Families.
What starts off VERY rocky and contentious, becomes one steamy love story! (I will never look at bagels the same... EVER!)
Up until now, Chase has not been my most favorite character in this series. He’s not been my least favorite... just always seemed to be in the background so I didn’t think about him much. At least, not until Enrage (Eagle Elite #8). While he still wasn’t my favorite, my heart broke for him. But Eulogy… man… he ripped my heart out of my chest! (Sergio is still my absolute favorite, just FYI!) Chase is no longer the happy jokester we’ve been used to. He’s angry. OK… beyond angry. He desires revenge to the point he doesn’t care if he sacrifices children in his rage. The DeLange name is almost his undoing. But Luciana… she falls for the monster and loves him in a way no one has ever loved him before. Despite her fear, she’s fierce. And she is so strong and loyal when she loves someone. And she most definitely loves Chase. She understands what true love means and this is what she gives Chase. But is it enough to save him?
Eulogy literally had me speechless. So many plot twists that literally came out of nowhere, like a punch to the gut. It breaks you down, rips your heart out, crushes it… and then heals it all.
NICUnurse’s Rating: Definitely 5 stars! It was highly anticipated by so many and NO ONE who’s looked forward to this book will be disappointed. Congrats to Rachel on another winner!

*********4.25 Star Read********
Rachel just has the magic when she writes this series. It doesn't matter what she does or what angst or trauma she puts our favorite crime bosses, I can't get enough and want more, more, more.
Eulogy picks up six months after the events of Enrage and the six families are broken. Betrayed by one of their own, their fragile trust between the families has been shattered. Mil has brought the family to their breaking point and there may be now way to fix it.
Chase, my sweet Chase has descended into the depths of darkness. After being betrayed by the one person he gave everything, he no longer has anything to live for but revenge. His need for revenge and insistent anger is destroying him and destroying those he cares about. If he can't find his humanity he will burn it all to the ground.
The angst and agony of this book is at times almost unbearable. You see your favorite characters struggle to keep what they have built. It's all starting to fall down around them and they don't know how to stop it or to make it better.
There are so many tears shed, but also healing int his book. Chase is so broken, but he meets a person that starts to make him feel again. After so much pain and darkness in his life, he finally is able to see that maybe he is not irretrievably broken. That all his dreams and failures did not die when she died, but have been reborn.
What i love about this series is that all actions and decisions have a consequences that can have devastating impacts on the 5 families. Nothing happens in a vacuum and you see these consequences play out in the book. It makes for an exciting series as you don't know what will happen next. Nothing and no one is safe in this series. Mil changed everything for these characters and nothing will ever be the same with these characters. They will have to fight harder to hold on to their empire and to keep those they love safe.

NINE BOOKS. Nine books filled with characters that have made me laugh and brought me to tears. Nine books filled with friendship and brotherhood. I have watched the men and women of this series grow from young, inexperienced kids to full fledged mafia members. I have watched them love. I have watched them lose. And I have watched them kill - often brutally.
But what does that mean for Eulogy? Those of you who have read Enrage, remember how that book ended, and a lot of the emotion from that book carries over into this one. These characters, one in particular, have experienced the ultimate sort of betrayal. They are hurting, they are grieving, and they are ANGRY. I can't say that I blame them for that, nor can I say I don't understand completely some of their actions and desires.
I saw a lot of similarities between this book and Empire (book #7). Chase and Sergio both experienced a loss, albeit on two entirely different levels. However, they chose to approach that loss much in the same way. By being angry. By being threatening, but most of all, by being afraid. Neither would admit it of course, but at least Sergio got his happily ever after in Empire. I was worried that Chase wouldn't.
There were parts of this book that literally had me on the edge of my seat. Although I had figured out who one person was, the fate of several of these characters was often hanging in the balance. And Luc. Damn. That's unfortunately all I am at liberty to say about her.
Overall, I believe this story will appeal to fans of the Eagle Elite series, as well as those who enjoy a spellbinding story that grips you tight and doesn't let you go.
DISCLAIMER: I received a complimentary copy of this novel in exchange for my honest review. This has not affected my review in any way. All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

OMG so many emotions reading this book! I was traumatised after the ending of the last book #8 Enrage it set the course after the events unfolded and my heart was breaking for Chase but this book took me to hell and back with emotions, I laughed, I cried and I broke but in true RVD fashion she put me back together at the end.
Gone is the happy, fun-loving Chase Winters Abandonato, he was the assassin with a smile but that smile has gone and left a hurricane of death and destruction in its place. He has become cold and hard, he's bitter and on a path of revenge after the loss and betrayal he and the family have had. He is a broken man who has given up and wants to wipe out the De Lange bloodline, with or without the Families OK.
In an attempt to save him, he is sent the new lawyer, Lucianna Smith. She's not cut out at first fro the Mafia world and despite facing Chase unleash his darkness and threatening to shot her on a regular basis she stands strong and does her job. Her innocence is drawing Chase in, he thought he knew what love was with Mil but he's starting to realise he knew nothing! She is the light to his darkness but is it enough to bring him back from the brink of death and can she save him in time?
I loved this book when I probably should have hated it as Chase is my favourite and I never want to see him in pain. Once I began this book I couldn't put it down, I was gripped in the raw, emotional pain that Chase was feeling. I will be honest though that I wasn't a fan of Mil's I never thought she was good enough for my boy, he deserved more and he got that with Lucianna. The secrets and lies that are revealed are shocking and absolutely brilliant! I cannot wait to see what is brought next to this series! The fact this is book #9 in this series and still phenomenal and going strong speaks for the superb writing RVD delivers us each and every time.

Rachel Van Dyken is a creator of broken & beautiful tales and I’m religious to her words.
Believe it or not, Eulogy was my first book from the Eagle Elite series and I admit, it was intimidating to be thrust into the waging war between the mafia families and even more so when it is about a man who has lost all of himself. But, oh my lord, I am in love with the darkness, violence and blood. Eulogy was a thrilling and completely addicting ride!
I am beyond words at how to describe the utter perfection of this book. There’s something so beautiful about broken heroes that I can’t help but to be drawn to them, like a moth to the flame, but Chase was simply…otherworldly. As if he was operating on a whole other level of broken, shattered beyond repair, and then there’s Luc who managed to scavenge the broken pieces and glue them back together again. Like an angel on a mission, Luc was set to keep the devil from self-destruction, and that even the devil deserves love.
”Blood betrays us, blood saves us, blood may be the only way to bring life back
- maybe even his.”
”It was in his darkness, his power, his possession that I found love.
Not his light.”
Achingly beautiful.
Note: I personally thought it was better to have read the previous books in order to fully understand the characters and what precedes the plot in Eulogy as it has some continuation from the previous books, nevertheless it can also be read as a standalone.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book generously provided by Social Butterfly PR and the author. Thank you for the reviewing opportunity!
