Excellent read...i love rachel van dykens humor. And she sure didnt disappoint again. Found myself laughing so hard several times that i had to put the book down for a second. The author has such away of making you fall in love with her characters weather they are right or wrong...cheater is not really a cheater..you will be pleasantly surprised..

The title is misleading but it makes you think. Lucas is marrying his high school sweetheart. In fact, his family and her family have know each other before they had kids. But Lucas is starting to have feelings for the younger sister, Avery. He feeling guilty and doesn't think he can go through with the wedding. He feels like he's a 'cheater'. But things go wrong and not only does he break up with his fiance but it has caused tremendous pain between the families. In Lucas' mind he's a cheater so he tries to live up to that reputation. Four years later, Avery enters his life in an unusual way and the sparks are there. Both are fighting the attraction. Then the unthinkable happens, the families hear about them and all hell breaks loose, in a funny way. They lie to families and try to keep the lies straight, they fight their attraction in the most unusual places. But above all, Lucas comes to realize he is not a cheater but is ready to commit to Avery. Love the scenes that Rachel Van Dyken puts together. I was laughing and crying.

Where do I even beginning? ... I hate cheaters. WITH A HUGE PASSION. One of the most frustrating, things that angers me about this world in general. I kind of feel that the book title needs to be changed. I can not imagine wanting folks to hate the title of your book. But maybe that was her intention for doing this? Get more chats going, or reactions because of the title. Smart or a regret? I will say that some where along the lines I got a note maybe from RVD's PR that said that you might be scared to read this book or whatnot but give it a try ... so I got a sample of the book 2 start and was totally hooked in just by reading that sample ... she got me and I loved it! But I continued to read each page ... thinking to myself ... this is so not cheating? if some one knows you are dating or in a relationship (having sex) with someone else, that is NOT CHEATING. it has nothing to do with agreeing with what you are doing or if it is right or wrong? the point is? does each party know you are doing, dating, sexing, talking, involving yourself with some else beside that one you are with at that moment?

I truly believe if you are wishing to be with someone have the guts to say I quit, I am sorry this is just not working for me and move on to who ever you wish ... just that simple. Have the guts to say you are not the 1 for me and say I am not gonna waste any more of your time, energy, life, your emotional welfare, etc. etc. I have never had some one cheat on me, WELL, that I know of? I would hope folks would have more within themselves to just stop it and move on? Don't waste any one's time by cheating!!!! JUST move on.

I have had several girlfriends who have gone through it and I just feel for them. The time and energy most ladies (not all) put into their daily relationship is so time consuming and just so much emotion goes into it all. It is just so cruel, evil and just plain mean!!!

I just don't see where there is much cheating going on in this book? My 1st book read, written by RVD. & now that I am hooked on these characters and this series, I will be coming back for more. I think as young kids we girls are taught to say boys names, (even the middle name too) ... Lucas Thorn ...

I say that to my hubby all the time, when I am angry or frustrated the full name comes out, yelled throughout the house, it just makes it seem more intense or whatnot. Makes the point more, like he will know he is in big big trouble? or something!!! I do wonder what they other options were 2 naming this book? Was CHEATER the 1st option or? curious??! what do you think? are you a RVD fan? what book would you recommend 2 every one?

I legitimately need to know how she does it. Honestly. RVD is so diverse in her writing abilities that I never know what to expect when starting a new story of hers! She's one of those authors that I will put my complete faith in, not bothering to read the synopsis (even though they're usually amazing once I do), going into a book blindly and letting myself figure it out as I go!
When she announced the title "CHEATER", of course I was going to assume that it's about cheating, and honestly, I was SO READY FOR THAT! I mean, come on, one of my most favourite stories EVER was written by her and founded on redemption, and she absolutely SLAYED it!
But this isn't directly about that at all, so if you're bypassing this story because of the title, then COME BACK HERE THIS INSTANT AND READ IT!!!
I promise, you're in for a treat.
The emotions that Cheater elicited were like a reading off a polygraph test. From laughing out loud, to anger, to frustration, to suspense, to love, to sadness, and whatever else you can think of in between.
Avery Black, the heroine, is by far the most entertaining character I've read in a long, long time. I couldn't get enough of the banter between her and Lucas, and don't even get me started on that tension, both hot and...not.
Cheater was truly unputdownabe, an addictive read that kept me up until 5am, and the start of an epic series that I honestly can't wait to see unravel.

It seems that Rachel Van Dyken has the ability to make us laugh, cringe and love all at the same time. Every book gets better and better.
Lucas Thorne, self proclaimed manwhore. It's not cheating if all the women know about eachother. One drunken night changed his views on life and his opinion of himself.
Avery Black has always lived in her sisters shadows. Her big secret is the crush she has always carried for her big Sisters ex-fiance Lucas Thorn.
This story sucked me in and left me wanting more. I love the way Rachel can pull you into a story by writing incredible characters that stick with you long after the last page. Do yourself a favor and buy this book.
