I was always impressed by Laura Bush and the presence she brought to the White House. I think she helped to Make G.W. the man that presided over our country. I did not realize all the activities she was involved with, aside from what goes on in our own country. I think it's a good read and it leaves us in on the busy life of a favorite First Wife, which she really enjoyed being.

Wonderful autobiography of the former First Lady with a perfect title because she definitely writes "from the heart."
I finished the book wishing that I could meet and spend an afternoon talking with Laura Bush.

Perhaps this book is not as interesting to a man, because the gentleman to whom I lent the book had a hard time beginning it, but for me it was fascinating. Laura Bush is indeed a special lady and that was my opinion even before I read the book. Now that I know more about her life, doings, thoughts, etc., it has only strengthened my excellent opinion of her!

I enjoyed reading her book, her life, her story, and her explanations about her & her husband's political philosophy s. I believe he was very rudely vilified during his last term year by the news media. Was he always 100 % perfect in his decisions? Heavens, no! He admits it and all of us in this worlds not one person has been perfect except Jesus Christ. It would bother me greatly if I heard others condemning my husband, too.

This was an incredible book! She lived such a full life, Doing so much in a short amount of time! She did so much for women around the world and also for young men. More than those self-proclaimed activists!

This book is truly "Spoken From the Heart" of Laura Bush. It gives insight into the life of a U.S.President's wife plus
an account of what all happened when Geo. W. Bush was President. It shows how Laura truly felt about education
and other matters in America and in her personal family. I wish the book could continue with another telling of all that
her family did for and in Africa. I personally carried the needs of 3 countries in Africa to the White House at Geo. W.'s
first Inauguration and know he and Laura together followed up on all 3. This book gives a lot of insight into the trials
of a First Family. Good reading!

I like this book. In two days of leisurely reading I've already gotten through almost 100 pages. I like how she opens up about her life and I find her West Texas lifestyle to be interesting and a great way to grow up. Her stories of her childhood dog made me laugh out loud! Just an easy, leisurely read!

I enjoyed learning about all the duties and causes a First Lady has to do. I knew from that Mrs. Bush was a caring and sensitive lady because i have followed her and the Presidents political journeys. Plus I am also a born and bred Texan!

This book was recommended to me. I have enjoyed reading it from start to finish...I believe that anyone no matter who you politically support could enjoy this book. Laura Bush shares history, insight into the wife of a first lady and a mother of two girls. She shares emotions about 9/11. This is an easy read!!!!

Jackie Kennedy for her young age displayed such maturity, but Laura had that certain something that made her stand out as an example of what a first lady of this magnificent country is all about. George, what can I say about this man , his integrity, his devotion to family and definitely his country and Laura a perfect match. The Kennedy's definitely run a second to the Bush's

A great, interesting book written by one of the classiest acts to live in our White House in recent memory. She is substance through and through and I've always admired the way she handled the Lenos in the world....never mean spirited, poised, articulate and fun. She has done so many great works (is still doing them) and represented our country very admirably.

I hated everything about the Bush administration but am fascinated by Laura Bush. I think that she is a smart and thoughtful person and have always wondered what she could have possibly been thinking during the the abysmal 8 years that she experienced in the White House. I found her to be an elegant writer and really enjoyed her book. Southern women are very interesting ......and Laura is the epitomy of the Texas lady .....compelling stuff...

Engaging and forthright, this read exhibits a woman of courage. One of our country's great First Ladies, outshone only by her mother-in-law (my favorite). A good read. Recommended. Thanks, Laura Bush, for sharing your story, and for enduring with grace the office of First Lady of the United States.

What a classy First Lady. Her honesty is surpassed only by her goodness of heart, spirit, and loyalty to her husband and country. Well done Laura Bush ~~ you will go down in history as a very special First Lady.

The book arrived in good time and in good condition. Gives one an insight into life in the White House. I found out that Laura's dad graduated from the same high school I did, Lubbock Senior High School Lubbock TX.

This is an excellent book. Laura Bush reviews her days in the White House & shares her feelings and the many official duties of a First Lady. Laura is a lovely person and certainly sets the example of a gracious and intelligent woman.

I loved this book because it completes her life story up to and including White House activities which we otherwise would not have know about this very special lady. The tabloids like nothing better than to scourge the Bush marriage and nothing could be further from the truth. They seem to have a solid marriage build on love and respect for one another. There is something very wrong about a party who seem capable of little else other than smearing opponents using their wife and children as fodder. This book tells us how much heart and soul Laura Bush put into helping her husband's Presidency. She used her position as First Lady to better the lives of so many people by promoting better education and reading, setting up schools in third world countries, assisting women and children in countries under the rule of the Taliban and those afflicted and dying of AIDS. Bet you didn't know she and her husband visited Katrina victims many times. Bet you didn't know Katrina victims were ill served first and foremost by their own Governor who refused to listen to the President when he urged her to call for an immediate evacuation and state of emergency, preferring instead to protect her turf and play politics with people's lives. I am very glad she wrote this book to bring light to how it really was in light of a very unprofessional media who will not give coverage to either the Bush Presidency or anything right of center in politics in this country. I enjoyed reading this book and believe it makes a good statement for the history of this era.

This was an excellent book. Especially the growing up years in west Texas and meeting George.
Laura is every bit a lady . The Bushes did not deserve being criticized like they were. She told of the days following 911 with compassion.
Great lady great book.
