Classic Stories of Gods - Heroes & Monsters

I bought this book for my granddaughters for Christmas. It has gorgeous illustrations and the stories are well written - not too long, but they get the main ideas across. I would highly recommend it. It's a real book to enjoy the old fashioned way - page by page, story by story. My 8 year old granddaughter has become an expert on Greek myths!! Great on a coffee table for the whole family to enjoy.

Couldn't be happier. My daughter is named after Ares, so we love to read the kids greek mythology books. The love Zeus and any time it thunders they yell, "Oh, Zeus is mad". So this book was a must. I saw it a Barnes & Noble and the price was significantly lower here. The pictures are insanely good, the pictures alone are worth buying the book. The book details all the gods and goddesses' stories and the stories are just short enough for my 4 & 5 year old to follow without losing focus. I highly recommend this book for all ages. Even adults, if you love greek mythology you can't go wrong with this nice reference.

The binding and artwork are first class. If I had a quibble, it would be that I wish the book was longer. The legends were mostly summaries with a certain "Cliff Notes" quality in their brevity. Still, an excellent introduction to the topic of Greek mythology.

My 10 year old daughter loves Greek mythology and is always wanting mor books on t. This is a great collection of the different myths and has beautifuliustrations! Perfect for a child that really loves mythology!

The illustrations are imaginative and gorgeous, and the text is written elegantly and simply, but not dumbed-down. I love the thorough analysis of relationships, significance, and symbolism of the pantheon. Well done.

I love greek mythology, and this book is great. It was a lot bigger than I had expected (guess I should have looked at the dimensions), but it has amazing pictures. The information is pretty basic, but it is a fun book.

Such a lovely book. Beautiful page-sized illustrations. Brief (a page or so) of print telling about the god/ goddess and their tale.... Not the book's fault but my son's CLASS liked the book better than my son did.... Ugh. I myself, highly recommend this book. It will instill in (most) kids an interest in Mythology.
